Bad Points: When you buy a large appliance from Currys, they say they'll contact you the day before the delivery to let you know what time of day it'll be delivered. Unfortunately this didn't happen with me and I had to call them myself and find out. Having said that, the call centre staff were friendly and helpful and apologised for not calling to let me know.

General comments: Curry's latest website is pretty good, being both easy to navigate and having a useful search search facility which allows you to narrow and refine your search as you go. The latter is excellent if you know what you want but you're not quite sure what a particular product is called. When I last visited Curry's online, I was looking for an oven I'd seen in Comet the day before, just to check and compare prices. I found the identical product in seconds and at a much lower price. Add in free home delivery and you're onto a winner.Order confirmation came though almost straight away, and the oven turned up just 1 week later. Overall, a very positive experience on this occasion. I'd certainly consider buying from Currys online again, especially if they're consistently good value too.

I got my Advent 8115 laptop from Currys for my 21st birthday and from the beginning the wireless card didn't work. I thought maybe it was just a weak one and just got a wireless usb adapter to boost the signal, after all i'd only spent £420 on the laptop. Then on having to clear up viruses from the computer, i noticed that the wireless adapter was failing...the usb slot had broken. I took the computer back to the store, to see what my rights were. They gave me an 0844 number to call, and i ...

An elderly friend of mine went along with her son to the Bromley store and ordered a cooker. They were told by a disinterested shop assistant that it would be delivered in a week's time and were given the details on a print-out which also said they should ring the day before to confirm the 4 hour delivery slot. This was done. I waited in with her the following day but no delivery! She contacted Currys only to be told that the delivery date was a mistake and the earliest they could deliver wa ...

Eight months or so ago I bought a Panasonic combination/microwave oven from Tesco. No problems for six months but then the turntable started sticking whilst cooking. As I had the receipt I took it back to Tesco who immediately refunded my money. If they had still stocked this particular model I would have had no problem with an exchange but unfortunately they no longer sold it.So I bought the exact same model from Currys. However, two months to the day after my purchase the oven went complet ...

I went to the store down in Newtownabbey to purchase a new television as my old one had just broken down. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly by a big fellow with a glowing personality, this turned out to be Ross, he helped me to select a new television by showing me the entire range and explaining them all thoroughly, we did reach a television he had never experienced before but luckily his superbly skilled colleague Chris was on hand to fill in the gaps and share his expertise! I'm so glad that ...

Went into Currys in Chingford which is my local store tonight to look for a TV and PS3. Walked in to a warm and happy atmosphere, ALL the staff seemed so helpful! I was greeted as soon as i entered and asked if i would like any help. I was soon directed to the games section where i was able to see demo's on all the consoles aswell as a top 10 chart for every console. After a couple of minutes I was approached by a member of staff who was more than happy to help. I told him that i wanted Pro Evo ...

I went into the Halifax store of Currys on Saturday, within 5 minutes of me walking in I was greeted by friendly staff, seemed knowledgable about the different TV's (digital, etc). I would definitely shop there again!

We purchased a Nintendo WII on the Saturday, money had been withdrawn from our accounts on the Tuesday, on the Thursday Currys then emailed us to cancel the order. After being given the run around by having to ring different departments, no formal answer could be provided as to why they had cancelled. I printed their email which clearly states that they had cancelled the order, my wife was informed today that she must have misread the email. We have since ordered our Wii via Comet, we are also a ...

I bought a washing machine from Currys, and they promised delivery, installation and removal. Firstly, they were unable to deliver the item on the day they promised, although I had taken annual leave to await the item. They managed to deliver it 2 weeks later, but 4 hours after the stated time slot. When they got here, they were not able to install the washing machine for me due to a faulty valve. They took out my old washing machine and left my new one in the lounge!! I had to pay a plumber ...

After moving into a new flat I needed a new vacuum cleaner, and I didn't want to wait for delivery. Last month I took myself down to my local Currys store in Kingston Upon Thames and purchased a VAX. My flat is only small, and therefore I usually use a handheld vacuum, so the second time that the VAX (the first being a test after assembly) was used was some 5 weeks after purchase.Within 2 minutes of starting it up it cut out. I waited an hour before the motor had cooled enough to use again. It t ...

I was after a Archos Docking Station as part of my husband's Christmas gift, we checked availability on the net and were directed to the Currys. When we got there, the assistant we spoke to said the information on the net was wrong and that he had checked 3 days before for the whole of Birmingham with little success. Even when we told him that the Internet showed availability there, it was dismissed, and we were told that they hadn't any in for months, even though they had a dummy in store! ...

I bought an Advent Intel core duo T2250 at Currys for around £500, and the first night I used it, it turned itself off, randomly. It did this several times. I could have been doing anything from gaming to doing coursework and it would go straight off, with no warning. I took it back and they took it in for 4 weeks (bearing in mind I had to pay net bills). I got it back, but it looks like they haven't changed it, and now I have taken the matter down the legal route because we're getting no ...

I ordered 3 of the same tv's about 4 weeks ago for my auntie and for her kids. They didn't turn up on the actual order date that she paid for - so that was one day wasted sat in. I phoned them, told them to deliver it the following Saturday. The tvs then turned up on the Monday - course I'm not in because people work and thats why we'd paid for a weekend order date. I phoned again - to be delivered on the following Saturday. I sat in again. 2 Out of the 3 tvs were delivered. I phoned again ...

Currys have been a nightmare to deal with. Bought an external hard drive and only realised I bought the wrong size when I took it home and opened it. I took it back within the hour and they refused to exchange or refund as it had been opened. Apparently the packaging had to be returned the way it was when it was manufactured. Well, it was. Apart from the sellotape that sealed the outer box.

Do NOT buy ANYTHING from CURRYS!!!!! I bought a 42" PLASMA TV - made by LG - it developed a flashing bright green pixel ... flashing away, brightly. They sent 4 Engineers out to look at it - yes, its a fault - but, it may be within spec. they didn't know! They have said that they can do nothing! The TV was about 23 weeks old! They could replace or refund (like John Lewis would) ..... but, no, we are dealing with the sharks of the Electrical retail world here!! Looks like I will have ...

Refused to deliver washing machines due to no parking in front of my flat (However their was plenty of parking behind flat), and they took the washing machine back to the depot. Whilst speaking to the driver on the phone, he was very rude and ignorant, did not listen to a word I had to say, I kept on telling him he could park at the back, that he could get a parking space, and he kept on telling me he requires a residential permit, however you don't need one in my area on the weekend. Refused to ...

We reserved a domestic appliance item online. Drove 20 miles to the the Bradford foster square store. Went to the desk and paid for the item. We were told to wait while the item was brought to us. After 20 minutes of waiting we were told they did not have it in stock!!!!!! What a complete waste of time.
