Progressive Recruitment Specialists is the worst recruitment I have ever worked for. Took them 7 weeks to pay me after I started the contract. In that time I had missed payments on my account and racked up many charges. I was told they would look into this. 1 year later they are still looking into it and my pay continues to be late almost every week.I am around £700 out of pocket and they just dont care. Worst one is they have me locked into a contract that stipulates I cannot leave and work for my present company for a year!!! THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!! DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! You have been warned.

(P.S I have been a contractor for 14 years and never had a problem with any other agencies)

After looking to get into contracting I went online to find out other people's views on recruitment companies, so I would know who best to go through. I read some mixed reviews on Progressive Recruitment Specialists, so when they contacted me after I put my CV online I was a little dubious.

However the experience I have had with them ever since has been helpfully, pleasant, at times a little bumpy, but overall has made my move into contracting easy and enjoyable.

My first contract was lost and then 2nd contract was sent to wrong address.
Wouldn't pay my expenses for a trial day even when agreed through email.
My invoices were only paid after 28 days, not up to 28 as stated in contract event though the customer had paid on receipt of invoice from Progressive.
I never received return phone calls or emails unless it seemed in their favour
The problems always seemed to be the fault of someone else.
I will never use Progressive again or any of the S3 companie ...

After placement with Progressive Recruitment Specialists, I felt totally forgotten about and as though they were making money off my back. Payment terms appear to be stacked in their favour, they seemed to be making a lot of money on top of my rate and also in interest on what they were holding back for a month. I felt I received bad service from them. I did not receive any return phone calls when I needed to speak with them. I was wondering what I was getting for the £500- £700 ...

I have found Progressive to be one of the best recruitment agencies i have ever worked with. As a 20 year veteran in the Pharmaceutical industry i can say that both as a candidate and as a client i have never been so impressed. My consultant is a not only a consummate professional and highly knowledgeable he is also a pleasure to work with and I can genuinely say i consider him a good friend.

All of a sudden I started getting emails from them when I had not given my contact details to them as far as I am aware or anyone with any links with them, when I called them to find out where they got my details from they gave me all sorts of different names, then said that someone who had now left the company had actually added my details to their database as far as I am concerned.

Basically I replied to an advert on Jobserve, which was through progressive, got the interview, interview went well.

For a 3 month contract, tried contacting them the following week, ignoring phone calls etc:- didn't know what to do, eventually found agency was not a recognised agency for the job.

2 weeks later found the same job advertised with recognised agencies, applied and got the position through another agency.

I have been working for Progressive for three months and have only been paid twice. Outrageous.
