Good Points: The adverts are good. Also seeing the back of my 2 year old DFS sofa as it went to the tip.
Bad Points: Cheap quality. Bad after sales care.
General comments: Moving in to our new home strapped for cash we decided DFS interest free credit was the way to go big mistake.
After looking round we fell in love with a Linda Barker design leather sofa so after paying £1700 and an additional £250 call out leather match all singing and dancing repair man, which i hadn't hoped to use.
Well 3 months after our sofa arrived the leather started cracking on the chair i called DFS who sent out the repair man ,only to be told it was general wear and tear, after 3 months!
Anyhow the next call out was because the frame had collapsed again the repair man came took the sofa away and repaired it.
Next call out was for another collapsed frame on the 2 seater,i asked for the whole sofa to be changed but only repair was offered so again i was left with no option but to let them repair it,the answer to the collapsed frame was it could have been dropped in transit my fault?
My last call out was because the leather was cracking and what can only be described as rubbing off, the answer to the call was yours 2 year warranty is up.
So to sum it all up i was left with a shabby looking 2year old sofa set that cost the bargain price of £1700. So it cost me £850 for each year used good value i think not.
So next time you see the adverts and are sold on the idea of interest free credit, you might as well get one from Argos because I can assure you the quality is better and will probably not end up in the skip after 2 years.

We received our leather sofa from DFS four months after we bought it. Good price so thought it was worth the wait. Noticed immediately that the quality of the leather was really poor, it was very thin and we were wondering how long it would last - 18 months later it has a 3 inch tear on one of the cushions! Would never buy from them again!!

our beautiful looking and comfortable chocolate leather corner suite came to our home with a large gash in the mesh on the underneath of the sofa, and various marks where they have told us there wasn't enough leather dye!! They sent a leather specialist out to view the marks who then repaired them by just rubbing in some dye and drying it with a hair dryer hence the marks are still there as he just coloured them in!!! They just stapled the ripped mesh back underneath it looks a mess! These are m ...

I would never buy from DFS again, I would never recommend my worst enemy let alone a friend. They promise everything in the show room but when you need something sorting out they have all these get out clauses! I have asked for a copy of my warranty to see what I am covered for but they say I cannot have it even though that is illegal! Beware buying you may regret it!

I bought 2 & 3 seater settees from DFS, and I took the accidental cover out on them as I have a toddler, and I was told by customer service that this would be ideal - because 'accidents do happen' - and it did... My son found a ball point pen and proceeded to draw all over one of the settees! No problem I thought, so I rang the care line straight away. However, they told me I wasn't covered for pen. What nonsense! What am I covered for then? I was told just to use the leather cleaner provi ...

I ordered a new suite from DFS back in May. I waited in all day yesterday for it coming, and when it did arrive it was the wrong one. The Manager has since phoned me to say that I should have taken the sofa and chairs and he would have sent on the cushions to match in a few weeks time. As there is a chance the colours/shading would be different, I told him that was unacceptable, was annoyed with DFS and wanted them to cancel.

I paid nearly £4,000 for a lounge suite, and I was told the delivery would be in March 2007. I had a confirmation phone call to tell me that the furniture had been made and shipped, and would be delivered mid March, as agreed. A week later, I was phoned again to be told my order would not now be fulfilled for another three weeks. No explanation was given from DFS, and despite my enquiry to their head office, I have still not had any satisfactory reason as to why this further delay was need ...

DFS have a reputation to keep, so I would suggest they quality control their goods before they ship them to customers, instead of sending two big 'manager' blokes out to talk one small woman into having a repair she didn't want.

A true waste of time.
Our sofa came with one leg higher than the other, and just after 1 year, the sofa's we got from DFS lost any respectable shape.

I brought a 3-seater x 2-seater corner sofa from DFS recently. I live in a block of flats so I was worried about delivery. They assured me it would be no problem but asked me to describe the staircase. I told them it was quite narrow and it had banisters, but I had easily managed to take my current 3-seater sofa up the stairs by lifting it up and above the banisters. They said that was okay as the sofa came as a 3-seater and a 2-seater and the two sections would be joined together in my flat ...

DFS has terrible overblown marketing, tedious workings of chart songs with the inevitible couples on sofas not worthy of one's money.
Spending a fortune on television adverts, a fortune that you are paying for shoddy goods. How much over the top are you paying for less than average furnishing to pay for their marketing.
Did you know there is a sale on at DFS at the moment, that is because there is never a time when there is not a sale on They rely on the public being stupid and the public ...

Salesperson at DFS was excellent, and pointed out some things we had not noticed about the item we originally wanted to purchase, which made it totally unsuitable for us (we would not have thought of checking a certain point).
Salesperson made absolutely sure we understood what we were purchasing and the care it would take.
Was very clear regarding delivery time and the fact that it might be a bit longer.
Delivery men were brilliant - I had arranged for my old couch to be moved and had ...
