“Received Bed frame 2 weeks on still no mattress!!”

I went in to the store in Aberdeen purchased a new bed frame and mattress. Got a call to say that the bed was in to arrange delivery. The night before got my old bed out and took a day off work for it coming and only the frame came, 2 weeks on still no mattress!! “MIS-SOLD, MISLED, £500 WASTED OF MY WIFES DISABILITY...”

Absolute rubbish. Bought a chair for £500, after a couple of months it was leaning to one side, so DFS sent a bloke out. Turns out it was 2 broken ferrules, which he fixed. We also pointed out that there was pillilg, or baubuling on the surface of the chair, to which he said "oh, that's the cotton, theyre all like it". RUBBISH! “sagging arms / sofa padding on 2 cushions need redone”

had the sofa since 2011 , does not get heavy use , its the cantanello range , I had extra padding put into the arms on the outset as the padding is a hollow fibre which needs plumping up constantly as it flattens out as soon as you rest on it , the leather itself has remained in good condition due to the constant nourishment treatment I do every week , also on delivery the guys tried to jam the sofa through the door after I specifically asked them to remove one of the arms to get in with ease… Read Full Review

“Warranty not worth the paper it is written on! ”

Absolutely disgusted with DFS! My parents purchased a leather sofa 2.5 years ago. At the same time they also purchased an additional warranty. The sofa has started to become discoloured and peel on one headrest. DFS will not repair this under the wRranty as they claim that this is 'general wear and tear' as it is due to body oils!! People should be told this before they purchase a leather sofa or an extended warranty. No explanation as to why only one headrest as the whole sofa is well used… Read Full Review

“APPALLING SERVICE AND QUALITY”

We have had a DFS sofa since November 2011. After 3 years we noticed it was starting to wear badly. Have been trying since July 2015 to get some sort of acknowledgement and compensation. When some one came out to look at it all kept saying was it was normal wear and tear, and the way it was being sat on!! Only two adults live in the house no pets, and out at work all day. “Customer care and returns”

I bought a sofa set (corner sofa and swivel chair) from DFS. After delivery and installing at home, I found that they are too big to my living room. I contacted customer care and requested return. They flatly refused and told that they don't take return, refund or exchange. According to consumer protection rules October 2015 customer has the right to return within 28days of delivery. “Staggeringly incompetent customer service”

Our 5yr old DFS leather sofa has badly sagged, the salesman says if we now choose a "better leather" it will not happen! Nothing can be done about our current sofa! I bought a sofa from DFSs online store in October last year and paid a £100 deposit. I couple of weeks later, I saw a better offer and nicer sofa with another company so I emailed customer services to cancel my order. “Poor quality sofas, even poorer customer service and...”

My experience of DFS began badly, when ordering the Freya four seated chaise and two sweater sofas in leather (costing approx. £2500) the sales advisor at the Nottingham store ordered the wrong chaise. After querying this in the shop a number of times he assured me that it was correct. After returning home and checking the website he had in fact ordered the wrong one. They don't resolve!
If you paid by interest free credit then this is a `point of sale loan` and the credit provider is jointly liable with DFS for any defects under Section 74 of the Consumer Credit Act so contact the loan provider (probably Barclays Partner Finance in Cardiff) and explain the position and ask them to investigate. Recommend that you obtain an independent report from a member of the Association of Master Upholsters and Soft Furnishers.
If paid cash then still get an independent report and take DFS to the Small Claims Court.. NB Check your Household Insurance Policy to see if you have Legal Expenses cover for Contract Disputes as insurance provider will take over your claim on your behalf..

“Don't buy from DFS”

The suite has loose covers but the fabric is not suitable for domestic use and the fabric protection does not work any liquid on this fabric dries up with a white stain. We received from DFS a leather corner sofa and chair. Within a week of having it the zip holding the back cushion broke. We told DFS and they did nothing. Bought a 3 seater leather sofa from the Edinburgh store in mid 2013 (long time ago to write a review I know but i'll get to it!), we also paid around £100 for the 5 year care package in case of accidental damage. The service at that time was ok, quite a long time to deliver the product but it came when they said it would. On delivery realised sofa was broken. Frame of arm snapped. Had to spend next three months arguing with dfs about my right to reject sofa.
