Good Points: On Demand, recording an entire series. Pause TV.

Bad Points: Blu Ray is safe for now, it doesn't support 1080P but am sure it will one day

General comments: The concept is good and one day will rid us of metallic plastic disks forever....if the digital rights people don't screw it up for us all (who am I kidding, of course they will). But till then that here's to the future. BT Vision has been unbelievably good for the last six months and then today it went horribly wrong with the On Demand section being unwatchable due to freezing, however BT were on to the fault within the day and lets hope it's fixed. So to sum it up. When it's good, It's very very good but when it's bad..... Oh it's very very bad.

I've had two of these BT Vision V Boxes now (they had to replace the first one).Basically I think it's a terrible product - it's a great concept, but it's just two unreliable and suffers from all the errors listed by other reviewers - freezes / doesn't record / loses recordings / loses channels etc.I can't be bothered to go through the rigmarole of getting another replacement, so I'll probably just switch to a different broadband provider or a cheaper broadband contract and get a recorder. ...

Switched from Sky to a BT Vision V Box 3 months ago. Functionality is as good as Sky - just takes time to adjust. I love the packages and the way it automatically gets the best TV of the week for you. Plus you don't get all the crap channels Sky bombards you with. Initially had a problem with Setanta Sports and BBC4, but customer services were very helpful and now picture quality is better than Sky. I do miss the football on Sky from time to time though...

The concept is great, the product is poor. The BT Vision V Box isprobably the worst piece of technology I have ever come across. I have sky but as an employee had the offer of this box for £1.00 (the price is right). Having numerous restarts, re boots, un plugging, software upgrade and continually losing the recordings option, I took the box out and shoved it in the loft where it wouldn't annoy me anymore. I replaced with an HDD box. Now I can confidently record programmes (and play them ...

I have had a BT vision box for over 18 months and while it is not a sky replacement it is good at what it does. I have not had the problems with freezing and can't really complain as being a bt customer I got my box for free. The choice is getting better, but I do feel that the price could be more competitive for both TV and film. I could go to sky but would probably end up paying £30 a month for lots of films repeated an even greater number of times. All in all I am pleased with my visio ...

we were having recording problems with BT vision and after being instructed to complete a hard reset live while on the phone to the BT help desk we are now without our TV which broke at the time of the hard reset. A surge of power apparently blew something in the TV and BT said this is the first time this has happened. BT don't seem to want to help surprised? Im not.

I think bt vision is no use as it freezes so i have been told, but the other day my brother got bt vision which seems to freeze when you download a programme to the bt vision box which i find annoying when you are trying to watch a good film that is the last thing you want , in addition this when we were watching the football it appeared to have an error as below, also when he download a film which he has purchased downloaded no prob but when watching it looked like it had to keep having to catc ...

I had a speed issue with BT Vision V Box which didn`t allow my on demand service to work. BT refused to let me cancel my subscription even though my history of technical problems were highlighted for all to see. Very poor customer care.

I ordered BT vision after being contacted by a sales representative from BT. The box took over 2 months to arrive because of various problems. I was about ready to cancel the order. The box itself is good but has had various gremlins over the short period I have had it, screen glitches that come and go at will. On demand is unresponsive and cannot be watched, most of the problem is due to BT's atrocious customer service.

If your on BT Broadband its kinda dumb not to sign up and get the box for £30! The packages are excellent and we love both ondemand films, Picturebox and now the new HD service.Picture quality is stunning and BT support is second to none and more importantly its a freephone number!

I had a call from a BT representative offering me the BT Vision pack. I was unsure because we are in an area where freeview is not readily available, but after explaining this to the rep. I was told that there would be no problems. I said I would try it on condition it worked. From the moment I tried to set it up I have had numerous problems, I tried to cancel but was told I had signed a 12 month contract but I didn't sign anything. Then I got a bill for just under £70, I phoned technical ...

Ill be honest, I really didn't want this product (the Mrs choice). I don't watch a great deal of TV and thought from what the BT website said it sounded very poor. I opened the box and it looked like an cheap DVD player.I set it up without much hope when I got it on I thought right away the EPG looks very professional with the type of attention to style that Id usually associate with a Mac. I slowly set up my TV settings to make sure I got the best picture with my better half by my side like a ...

The BT Vision V Box is a good all round option, easy to use, but not a replacement for sky.

BT Vision V Box is way way way better than sky. This is my ideal solution to tv and saves me churning through all the rubbish channels that sky has. Unless you like the tree channel or the buy a mirical hoover channel.

I gave the BT Vision V Box a shot as they offered it for free, but I'm afraid it will have to take it's place in the bottom of my cupboard.I am switching to Virgin NTL as the cost of my broadband and phone line with Vision is about the same as a superior Virgin package. Last straw for me was when I was getting charged £3 for free BBC repeats that i can download in iplayer.

I went for this offer, as i was already a BT Broadband customer, after looking at what i was paying to sky - and what i was actually watching on sky. Dont get me wrong SKY is great! but i just don't watch any of the other channels enough to justify the cost. A friend had a BT Vision box and I felt i should give it a shot, and was I chuffed that I did!

I have had two BT Vision V-Boxes fail and replaced since January The second V Box only lasted a week before it stopped working altogether. The 3rd replacement was installed today, but the remote will not put it on Standby - only way is to use the manual rocker switch. The remote is programmed to control the TV but pressing the Standby button turns off the TV screen and doesn't affect the V Box. There are serious bugs in the design of the V Box and remote. If this V Box fails I shall buy a Freevi ...

I read a few comments when I took up BT's Vision offer. I began to think it might be a mistake, but was willing to see for myself. Touch wood it has worked perfectly. The picture quality is superb, the TV guide is very easy to use and the search feature is very good allowing me to find exactly what i want. The On demand Service is very good, there is always something I want to watch. Its a lot better value than Sky and i can get all the same programs but without the 100's of useless channels sky ...
