Got this end of 2007, had occasional problem with freezing, particuarly ondemand films, but not for last 8-10 months. Love the replay service but occassionally can't get a BBC programme that is available on their online sewrvice. Kids love the music videos on demand as well as the films and kids shows. I love the record, pause and rewind service. I've had to replace the box once but that wasn't a problem as my Mum had 3 delivered due to a delivery error from BT! The picture quality is great and customer services have talked me through faults on the occassions that it has happened. Their customer service is great for vision, just awful for broadband service!

Hi,the problem first laid with custumer service, several different phone numbers to different help desk's which didn't record the info on the same computer system also when an engineer did eventualy turn up to sort the vo4 problem out, he said it was a internal fraid wire which was not covered by bt therefore there will be a charge .ok fair enough but one hundred and twenty five pounds worth of fraid wire?!? i don't think so. minimum charge apparantly. what a crock thanks willtwig- Read willtwig's review (86 words)

Main issue with BT Vision - CUSTOMER SERVICE! & VBOX WITH LIMITED LIFE OF 2 YEARS! It's the most negative experience ever! Been with them on the Total Broadband contract for 3 years now. Got the box just after they came out.
So I've had smiliar problems as described by others with the Vbox - freezing, having to reboot, takes long to delete, download, etc, But now, the box has simply gone bust! I trully believe that their updates, most recently switchover on the 30th Sep have made the boxes red ...- Read Guest's review (190 words)

My only complaint is, that I can be watching a program and the screen goes blank, meaning I have to do a complete re-boot of the BT Vision V Box. Strangely enough it only happens on a Sunday. Mybe there is work being carried out somewhere leading to a loss of signal? If so why aren't we given a warning?- Read Andylew1965's review (60 words)

i like it, but if was to be a little critical then it would be of the on demand menu selection... its a little cumbersome, but does the job
Only other thing i would say is that when my arrived first thing i wanted to do was check HD. Now my box's audio is connected to a B&W zeppelin which does not decode 5.1... the manual says there is an option to change output to just stereo.. but the option was not there. Next morning though the BT Vision V box had been updated and hey presto the audio optio ...- Read Guest's review (106 words)

My big issue with BT Vision is the remote! Every day I seem to press remote buttons hundreds of times. At times I have to press a button upto 8-10 times before the V box will respond. It is especially frustrating if you are winding fast forward and when you hit play it just keeps winding and you have to wind it back again. Likewise when trying to delete a program the V box will not respond. Compared to slick easy to operate Sky, BT vision is like something a cave man invented.
When I contacted ...- Read Guest's review (157 words)

BT Vision is not all its cracked up to be. Want to watch an HD Film you have to be patient it takes a download overnight or during the day if you have the grass to mow and the shoping to do. When you contact BT Vision, at least when I do I have real problem with the customer service reps dialogue and end up loosing my temper. IT SHOULD BE GREAT BUT IN REALITY IT IS NOT. THE RUNNING COSTS RSE THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT IT.- Read Guest's review (88 words)

BT Vision V Box is a good on demand service, excellent for catching up on series (dr who, lost, silent witness etc), let down by BT's usual abysmal customer service. good recording facility and storage space.
can be a touch tempremental - occasionally freezes when watching on demand, has a habit of rebooting (which has lessened since moving to a better reception area).
poor value film and music packages (films are mainly USA '90's made for TV movies as seen on Channel 5 in the afternoon with t ...- Read Guest's review (151 words)

I have the Bronze package and for just over £13 a month I get around 15 or so "channels" such as MTV, HBO, Warner etc on demand that show programmes or whole seasons of hits such as Friends, Entourage, Sopranos and Lost. There are several big programmes however notable for thier absence such as 24, Prison Break, Family Guy and The Simpsons. However there is a good selection to choose from although after a while the shows do start to get repeated again instead of newer programming.
The TV r ...- Read chriswarrior's review (885 words)

The concept is good and one day will rid us of metallic plastic disks forever....if the digital rights people don't screw it up for us all (who am I kidding, of course they will). But till then that here's to the future. BT Vision has been unbelievably good for the last six months and then today it went horribly wrong with the On Demand section being unwatchable due to freezing, however BT were on to the fault within the day and lets hope it's fixed. So to sum it up. When it's good, It's very v ...- Read Guest's review (132 words)

This time nothing happened and after 1 hour on the phone to the helpline i was told a technician would come yesterday (05 june), he did not ,and will come monday- Read psdhart's review (96 words)

I've had two of these BT Vision V Boxes now (they had to replace the first one).Basically I think it's a terrible product - it's a great concept, but it's just two unreliable and suffers from all the errors listed by other reviewers - freezes / doesn't record / loses recordings / loses channels etc.I can't be bothered to go through the rigmarole of getting another replacement, so I'll probably just switch to a different broadband provider or a cheaper broadband contract and get a recorder. ...- Read Guest's review (123 words)

Switched from Sky to a BT Vision V Box 3 months ago. Functionality is as good as Sky - just takes time to adjust. I love the packages and the way it automatically gets the best TV of the week for you. Plus you don't get all the crap channels Sky bombards you with. Initially had a problem with Setanta Sports and BBC4, but customer services were very helpful and now picture quality is better than Sky. I do miss the football on Sky from time to time though...- Read cjmacker's review (88 words)

The concept is great, the product is poor. The BT Vision V Box isprobably the worst piece of technology I have ever come across. I have sky but as an employee had the offer of this box for £1.00 (the price is right).
Having numerous restarts, re boots, un plugging, software upgrade and continually losing the recordings option, I took the box out and shoved it in the loft where it wouldn't annoy me anymore. I replaced with an HDD box. Now I can confidently record programmes (and play them ...- Read Guest's review (94 words)

I have had a BT vision box for over 18 months and while it is not a sky replacement it is good at what it does. I have not had the problems with freezing and can't really complain as being a bt customer I got my box for free. The choice is getting better, but I do feel that the price could be more competitive for both TV and film. I could go to sky but would probably end up paying £30 a month for lots of films repeated an even greater number of times. All in all I am pleased with my visio ...- Read Guest's review (115 words)

we were having recording problems with BT vision and after being instructed to complete a hard reset live while on the phone to the BT help desk we are now without our TV which broke at the time of the hard reset. A surge of power apparently blew something in the TV and BT said this is the first time this has happened. BT don't seem to want to help surprised? Im not.- Read asilver's review (80 words)

I think bt vision is no use as it freezes so i have been told, but the other day my brother got bt vision which seems to freeze when you download a programme to the bt vision box which i find annoying when you are trying to watch a good film that is the last thing you want , in addition this when we were watching the football it appeared to have an error as below, also when he download a film which he has purchased downloaded no prob but when watching it looked like it had to keep having to catc ...- Read ianmccully1's review (106 words)

I ordered BT vision after being contacted by a sales representative from BT. The box took over 2 months to arrive because of various problems. I was about ready to cancel the order. The box itself is good but has had various gremlins over the short period I have had it, screen glitches that come and go at will. On demand is unresponsive and cannot be watched, most of the problem is due to BT's atrocious customer service.- Read jahaangle's review (99 words)
