just bought an AA410 .22 and once home got through 60+ shots straight away. as the guy who i bought it off didn't know anything about it i decided to call AirArms and after giving serial number was told age. to say i was shocked was an understatement!!! This gun is fantastic. Would have prefered .177 but hey ho. I'm now going to see if i can get the 'metal work' of .177 and put it in my stock. Overall however if this proves to costly then i'll stick with .22 ain buy a new .177 (read more)

So glad I took it easily the best rifle I've owned Shoots 1/2 inch groups at 35 yards easily with Jsb exact 4.52 pellets and also with the air arms equivalent Chronoed at 11 - 11.8 quite consistsntly hitting the 11.5 mark through the Power curve which is fantastic for an unregulated rifle. Hi Oldtimer61
I’ve had mine for about 5 years now and have found it to be accurate and reliable. If you are concerned about power then this can be tested at an air rifle shop. If they find that the gun is low on power they can easily adjust it for you.
Accuracy can be affected by a number of things such as quality of ammunition, quality of the riflescope and steadiness of hand.
My S410 is a .22 and performs best using Air Arms Diabolo Field pellets. They are a little more expensive than other brands, but I find they are also more accurate. These pellets come in two head sizes 5.51 and 5.52. My gun works best with the 5.52s (they also offer more than one head size in .177 pellets as well). Try them and see which work best in your gun.
If you bought your gun as a package deal then you may have been sold a cheap, shoddy riflescope; this is what happened to me. When I replaced it, I found that my accuracy and grouping improved immensely. My gun originally came with a cheap 3-9x50 scope. I have tried several since and have found that I get the best results using a 4-16x44 scope which allows me to use shorter scope mounts and get the scope closer to the barrel (this helps) also it allows me to see close targets (10-15 feet) in focus, but has enough magnification to allow my old eyes to accurately hit targets at 60 yards.
Blackpool Air Rifles have a good range of affordable quality scopes (£100 - £200) by brands such as Hawke, MTC and Nikko Stirling.
I hope this helps.

Hi all I'm new to this sight and thought I'd write a quick review of my new air rifle the Air Arms S410 carbine .177 Well the first word I thought of when i first tried it was "wowzers"!!!! What a gun!!. I can't believe how accurate it is. I'm using AA field pellets at the moment and are getting great groups at 40yds. Already took down my first pigeon with this gun at about 37 yds with a clean head shot and it's breasts are now chilling in my fridge, yummy!! I'm getting around 11.4... (read more)

My AA .22 410 carbine is amazing. I have it set to max lb's/ft legal and prone can dispatch rabbit, pigeon, squirrel or rat to 50m regular if zero'd well. I have an average set of scopes (Hawke 3-9 x 40) and a bit of time setting up is crucial. I have it silenced and with the 10 shot bolt action magazine I can alsways reload and try again if necessary. I always keep the pressure as close to 180 bar as possible and always lube the AA Cal 5.5mm, 1.037 gram diabolo field pellets with 4 x drops... (read more)

Flip scope and brown leather sling ?. Not the ideal way to explain how good you are with a gun. To be able to shoot properly you need years of experience, not fancy extras. Keep practicing, keep safe and keep quite. Other people will shout how good you are when you are good. You won't need to do it yourself ( I've been shooting 54 years ).

i get about 70 -80 177 shots until the power starts dropping, the carbine is great 4 stalking under bushes and trees popping off maggies and woodies, the only drawback is if you only have one cartridge when loading mag in a hurry you can put pellets in wrong way and certain pellets seem not to go ii and turn the mag proper, but just stick to air arms pellets.

s410 brill, but weak barrel/barrel band.
early ones have no safety catch and normal non security screws.
later have security (nippled torx) these are easy solve....go to your hardwear or diy store and buy a bit set!
your transfer port restricting screw can be wound out giving a max of 2-3flb increase.
apart from that you need to buy a full seal kit. strip the gun slowly and carefully, CHAMBERS GUNSMITHS web site has exploded diagrams if you get stuck,
oh and dont panic you will see on there...
and most people use the s410 for competition shooting, not tin can shooting, and it has beaten many of the 'so called best' manufacturers.

Went out onto my local farm and started hunting bunnies. I found the carbine very light and agile to use while walking across fields.
Once in the prone position I found shooting bunnies at 45yds got a clean kill.

Can't say that I know much about this, BUT I bought a 510 Carbine yesterday and was told by the supplier not to try to pump higher than 150. There was an explanation - but I've forgotten it! However it seems that there is nothing wrong with your gun.
I was also told not to let the pressure fall below 50, otherwise the gun de-pressurises itself and needs to be reprimed.
Hope this assists.

I fill my rifle as normal and my guage stops at 150 bar.It is at this point i have to reduce the flow of air from my divers bottle to a trickle in order to fill it to 180-190 bar.The guns guage is only a rough guide for the user and does not usually match the guage on the bottle or stirrup pump.I'm not sure how you could get the trickle effect with a hand pump but hope the guage info heps.

Hi,
my 16 yr old shoots the S410 .22 carbine and has done for five years now, its not heavy at all and has very good accuracy killing well over 100ft(his best shoot to date was a woody at 145ft), you shouldn't be disappointed if you invest in one of these(I shoot the full length S410).The walnut thumb hole stock is a very nice addition to the standard beech stock if you want to go a little higher in money(about £70.00 more) it makes a world of difference on handling.
Great guns very good value for money
