This is the 2nd time we hae purchased a car from Trade Centre Wales, Merthyr. Our 1st experience, over 2 years ago, was stress-free and we never had any problems with the car (with never having to contact their after-sales department). We went back to them in February, to part exchange our 1st car from them for a Hyundai Trajet - an event we are now living to regret. We were sold "a fantastic warranty deal" at the same time. He was great so helpful and very patient especially as the weather was awful and we were looking at cars for almost an hour and a half! He was friendly and honest. I am absolutely disgusted by the after sales given by TCW!!! I purchased a vehicle a vauxhall Tiguan to be exact, traded in two immaculate vehicles, and was MISSOLD a warranty by the sales staff which was required due to me having 2small children and 2 school runs a day... I was told that my warranty covered all major parts as normal and was told more than 3 times that a courtesy car would also be covered during any car issues.. I visited the show room a number of times to view what vehicles were there that I took a liking too, and at no time was I pressured to buy, the sales team were polite and advised as to where the interested type of vehicle was parked. We liked the fact we didn't receive a hard sell and were allowed to browse around the showroom without being hassled. We found a car we liked and agreed on a price. We returned the following day to collect the car at 2pm as requested by TCW. Bearing in mind it was the hottest day of the year, and I was accompanied by my 70 year old father, not once were we offered a drink. Service was good. Was greeted as i entered but was not harrassed. Staff were polite and the cars were presented well. Large selection of cars. Only one little complaint was the fact I saw my car being driven by the garage staff as it was taken to be MOTed, and it was being driven very fast. I have seen this before in other garages. Unable to pick up the car when it was convenient to us, collection not open after 1800h, not much use when working a full day! Picked up the car today (Bank Holiday), to find it had no Car Tax, and being a bank holiday unable to drive it now until after next weekend when we can get to a post office, due to working hours. Went to TCW just for a browse around as we wer thinking of getting a bigger car, we seen a lovely car and asked if we could take a look!!! They really didnt want us to leave without putting a deposite down they offered us everything you could imagine just to put a deposite down. I really didnt want to and wanted to sleep on it!! The overall experience at the Trade centre Wales was excellent. I was greeted very well and not pressurised. The whole process was pretty seamless, and pleasant to do. My only gripes were that the finance set-up between CanCan and TCW needs to be better explained as after being told by CanCan to go and get my car as finance was all sorted, TCW then stated I had to choose my car THEN apply for the finance company to agree to buy the car! I was greeted by a salesman called Roy as soon as i walked in and he asked me questions and made me feel like he wanted me to find the right car. After picking the car i was passed to another salesman who hardly spoke to me. On arrival I was quickly and efficiently passed between staff for each stage of the sales process and had chosen my new car, arranged the finance and completed most of the forms with about 45 minutes. I was sold a car that had a short MOT. I was offered an MOT as part of the sale. I brought the Car back after 3 days for the MOT and it Failed! The car was dangerous to drive! I was told that i needed to drive away with it and come back again. i obviously refused this and had to wait for over 5.5 hours until i was sorted. The service at Trade Centre Wales was comparable to entering a large high end department store, the staff were profesional, the goods laid out well, the place was clean and the goods presented to suit the pound in your pocket. Advice was available if required but not intrusive, the only let down was the speed of the collection service ,I believe if you make an appointment that times should be adhered to. I applied via CanCan because i had some credit issues. CanCan wete very polite and helpful. Chosen the car, finanacr took longer than expected. When I took the car, less than 10 miles down the m4 the tyre exploded. Trade Centre took no responsibility despite the tyres being part of their check. The tyre was NOT safe and we could have died. Once on site, the car we went to view was not available as it had just been sold! I was very happy with the purchase. I was told I would get 12months tax with car. Drove all the way home to find no tax disc! So I was driving illegally. I tried to phone all the numbers to try and sort this out but was told I would have to phone back at 9am tomorrow morning. The experience of purchasing a car can be very stressful. However from the time we spent at tradecentre in Merthyr it was hassle free . The salesman was attentive but not overbearing and done his utmost to find the right deal. HE knew my budget and did not try to sell me a product that would really overstretch that figure. Altogether I believe I ended up with the car that was ideal for our needs and was impressed with the whole operation. Would definitely return in the future. (read more)
