Both myself and my brother have bought a car from Ron Skinner. I myself bought a Volvo V60 and my brother a Ford . We both had a great deal and the service we were given was second to none. My car in particular saved me £3000 on the local Volvo dealer who has since serviced the car on two occasions and I have had no problems with the car at all .I rang them up prior to my visit to ensure that the car would be held for me no mention was made of a deposit to keep the car . On arrival they showed… Read Full Review

In May I purchased a 2011 Ford Mondeo with 37000 miles on the clock and a FSH from Ron Skinner. Prior to buying from them I was warned by a friend that they sold ex day rental cars. I went to look at the car and asked the salesman about its previous owner and explained to him about my concerns about buying an ex rental, he told me it was an ex company car and definitely not a rental. Three weeks later I received the logbook and to my surprise the previous owner was Hertz! I called Herts and… Read Full Review

Wouldn't recommend these to anyone, awful customer service and very unhelpful staff. I drove over 60 miles to view a particular car and when I asked for a test drive they said no unless I'm defiantly putting a deposit down that day, talk about trying to force someone into buying. Guy was rude and unhelpful, left waiting for over half hour with no salesperson coming to see if I needed anything and that is the response I had when I approached them. I would suggest you go and spend your money… Read Full Review

Having visited Ron Skinners on many occasions to “window shop”, I have always noticed that they have a nice variety of cars for all genres ranging from sports cars to small and mid-sized family hatchbacks. The majority of the cars are less than two years old, with low mileage and are reasonably priced in contrast to other dealerships across the country. This week, I decided to go shopping for my next hatchback having encountered numerous problems with my previous purchase from another… Read Full Review

I searched for Ron Skinner reviews to see if anyone has had the same warranty problem as me.
I purchased a 22 month old Renault Laguna from ron skinner and was told that it had over a year left of the manufacturer warranty. I had the car 4 months when the diesel turbo developed a serious fault and had to be replaced. I contacted ron skinner who told me to take it to my local renault dealer which I did.
Only then I found out the car was an import and did not have the same manufacturers… Read Full Review

Ron Skinner Review.
Beware - It's not until you get a problem that you find out how bad their customer service is.
Ron Skinner rely on their car's having manufacturer's warranty left on them to take the bother off them if things go wrong.
My wife's Nissan broke down the day after purchasing it and Ron Skinner advised us to take it to the nearest Nissan garage saying 'if it's a warranty problem, Nissan will sort it, if it's not then Ron Skinner will pay for it'. Rubbish!
Nissan informed me that… Read Full Review

great place to buy cheap newish cars, i like the way the staff are cool and they don't talk much "no hard sales" went for a test drive, i was kind nerves staff was cool and accommodating.
i know some people hate relaxed sales people "like the below comments" but what do you want the pc world hard sales team who breath down your neck every second.
i like to have my space when buying a new car.

Low Prices for mostly, good cars, but poor service from Ron Skinner and Sons.
e.g. no fuel in cars when scheduled for pick-up by the new owners.
difficulty in getting staff to tax car for new owners when they pick up their newly sold vehicles.
Reduced VAT charges were not passed on to customers(not straight away at least)
Poor offers on traded-in cars… Read Full Review

After strong recommendations, I travelled to Ron Skinner & Sons with money in my pocket, ready to buy a car I'd seen on the website. I was very disappointed with the level of service and left the showroom with the money still in my pocket leaving me looking for somewhere else to spend it. I felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff whilst there, left waiting a couple of times. I've given two points for the apparently strong stock… Read Full Review

Very happy with the service I received. Good selection of nearly new cars under one year old, very clean and well presented. No pressure whatsoever. I drove three different cars before choosing one. For a small admin charge my personal plate was transferred and the car road taxed (hassle free)
I could not find the same model and spec. cheaper anywhere.
This is my third car from Ron Skinner and I WILL BE BACK… Read Full Review

Good selection of vehicles all of which are clean. This isn't one of those supermarket's that have shabby looking vehicles on show. They offer a reasonable part exchange value for your vehicle, and are open to haggling (not too much though). Overall a good place to look at your next possible car. The sales-people are not to pushy. Cars are a fair price. Reasonable part exchange value offered. I have purchased four vehicles from them and will go back again.Only thing wrap up warm as Tredegar is… Read Full Review
