“Only Intrested in people who want credit”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 20/07/2013

Okay phoned my local Motor Nation branch in Birmingham Garretts Green about a astra mk5/6 and was told to come down.I went down straight away and i was greeted by a sales bloke who went through the sales pitch etc....I told him i was paying by cash with a limit of 5 grand....He kept showing me cars that were 6 and 7 grand and kept trying to sell my abit of credit to help make it up on top of my 5 grand....I kept saying no etc the bloke was a complete joke.He then went away to try and source me other cars from different branches etc....which i could do in 30 seconds on the web...he was gone 20mins and seen biting into lunch.....So a complete waste of time was spent there....never again ! Buyers beware only intrested in people with bad credit so more money can be made on these cars.

“Terrible experience that people should know about !”

★☆☆☆☆

written by torie.666 on 16/01/2012

I thought that I would briefly share my experiences with Motor Nation as I had such a terrible experience with them. I see there are no reviews currently, so I do hope that this helps someone if they decide to purchase a car from this company. In April 2009, I purchased a Citroen C3 from Motor Nation. It was a good price and all seemed well to begin with. However, after ONE week it became clear that what I first though was wrong. The roof of my car leaked considerably and there were signs of water damage that had been covered up. There was also an issue with the electrical system in the car. Certain electrical components would not turn off, therefore draining my battery on a daily basis. I raised these issues with the dealership who were, to put it bluntly, not interested. After another week, the car kept cutting out in transit - probably something linked with the electrical faults. I continued to argue my case with the company in saying that the vehicle was not fit for purpose. They would only agree to look over the car (I did have a warranty)but nothing else. After inspecting the car they claimed that there was nothing wrong with it? I took my complaint to the highest place that I could within the company and eventually they agreed to swap the vehicle for me. This meant a new finance agreement etc. I opted for a VW Polo. The finance went through fine and was with my new car in a week. First time I drove the car, the left wing mirror casing flew off!! After a month the car kept cutting out. It was the same story again, only this time it took me 11 months to get them to listen to me. The faults got progressively worse but there was nothing that I could do. I took the vehicle to a VW dealership who diagnosed it and they explained to me that there was a major fault with the engine and that it required replacing. £1500 !! Off I trotted to the Financial Ombudsman and Trading Standards. No luck as I had now had the car for over 6 months (complications in law when financing a purchase). I eventually won my claim and Motor Nation fixed the car for me. Those months dealing with the company were hell! I found them rude, uninterested (after the sale at least) and very hard work in terms of communicating with them. The whole situation made me ill. To make things worse I later found that due to their in-capabilities, they had submitted my finance agreement to the lender WRONG. I am now paying a higher rate of interest over a longer period of time. I managed to claim the difference in the agreement itself back (£1000), but I am stuck paying interest on a higher balance than I agreed too and over a much longer period. I have no choice now but to get on with it and accept that I have been well and truly ripped off, but I would love to know that sharing a little of my experience with you guys helped stop you from having the same happen to you! The initial inspection of the car was not completed - only a stamp in my service history book - no date, no ticks, crosses or notes - nothing. I showed them this and they snatched the book off me and tried to fill it in. I was shocked! Within the last month I took the car in for a new fault with the window wipers as they were simply not working. They diagnosed this as a broken wiper motor and tried charging me £300.00. However, I decided to get a second opinion at Halfords due to lack of trust and it turned out to be a seized up arm. They fixed this for me for a little over £100. So not only did I almost get ripped off AGAIN, but I have to spend out of my own pocket even though I hold a very expensive warranty with them. Guess what... they don't care and will not admit they are wrong even though I presented them with the ACTUAL faulty part? Ah well. As much as I try too, I just cannot put my experiences down to bad luck. I have recently found that family members and friends have experienced very similar to me in the past. Also, two cars and one customer? Surely I couldn't have just had a "one off bad experience"? Would be interesting to hear off any other people.
