I used to stay at some other hotels near here which claim to be 5 star - but frankly I found them overpriced and less customer orientated and friendly.
This hotel is basically a 3 to 4 star Motel which tries hard to do it's best, perhaps to overcome it's shortcomings, which I think results in a better service.
It can be very noisy. Some of the rooms are not particularly sound proof and the layout means some rooms are near lifts and stairs which are not in a separate lobby. I am writing this... (read more)

Really enjoyed my time at the la Mon hotel for a wedding. Would consider going back for a break in the near future. Had a gorgeous room, got upgraded to a suite for no reason. Staff lovely. Breakfast wasn't great, cold coffee and food. Phoned reception twice and got no reply??? (read more)
