I have owned this Black & Decker Firestorm HP188F2K 18v drill for a couple of years now and am very disappointed in it's reliability. 1st the chuck bearings have worn leaving plenty of play in the chuck, allowing lots of movement which causes the drill bit to wobble. Secondly the gears are slipping / stripping when in low speed and now finally the charger has given up.
This is now my third B&D cordless drill, they have all worn the chuck bearings out (Just not up to any masonry drilling) and I will not be buying one again.
I will now be replacing it with a Makita.

The most reliable and powerful drill I have owned. perfect for around the home.

Brought this Black & Decker Firestorm HP188F2K 18v drill in 2001. It has been the best cordless drill I have ever owned.

I have the 18volt Black and Decker Firestorm KC1882F.
It has been a very good drill and the battery life is also good.
This drill is the older version of the HP188F2K.

The Black and Decker Firestorm is easy to use, has good ergonomics. However the removable chuck has locked open and I have been unable to find a replacement or repair it.
