This was my first time order for my niece birthday, it was a unique Floral Arrangement (Tropical Grace) & a bottle of Wine. The first flag was that they could not deliver on her birthday, the next bomb came with a phone call the day of (the supposed) delivery that the florist that they use (in her hometown)does not carry the necessary flowers ( until 3 more days AFTER her birthday) AND they do not carry Wine at all so it would be sparkling juice of some sort. Now to me, this is false advertisement; why advertise something that you don't know if you the florists you contract out with carry the products you are promising?! $140 order completely blotched d/t false advertising. So instead of my original order, my niece receives "designers choice", so basically whatever that florist feels like creating for $140. So my niece did not get what I wanted her to have from this HUGE SELECTION that GIFT TREE offers, she got whatever some florist felt like creating that day. I would have liked to known that with all this company advertises is not what they can provide, they should be advertising what the business they are contracting out with offers. So if a customer orders from Mayberry -don't advertise for New York; if that is what this company is relying on the another company to fulfill their work. False advertising at it's finest.

I can definitely appreciate your disappointment when you received a phone call advising the gift you had chosen was not available. When we process our floral orders we do them on a delivery date basis rather than by when the order was placed. By working through them in this manner, we are able to process hundreds per day and it allows us to offer delivery the same day if desired. Unfortunately, there is a downside, as we came across with your order. Please know we contacted you as soon as we were able, and we can certainly appreciate the disappointment this has caused. We dropped the ball, and you were the one who paid for it as we left you with fewer options to have an alternate gift delivered. 

This is not at all the experience we want for our valued customers and I would be happy to work with you personally should you give us another chance. Please reach me, if I may be of any assistance.

“Poor Quality for Price”

Purchased a fruit basket for my sister for her Birthday. I had never used Gifttree.com before and will never use them again. The product looks great on line, but my sister said the fruit was not good. The pineapple was bruised and not edible, the oranges were dry and the red apples were mushy. The only positive were the grapes and green apples they were ok. Really is upsetting to spend so much money on a gift and have it be such a disappointment all the way around.

“Precious Child's Funeral Wreath never delivered to...”

As the employer, we ordered a large beautiful arrangement for one of our employee's who lost her precious baby daughter. We ordered on Thursday. Received a call on Saturday (Memorial Day weekend) saying that there was no one to deliver the arrangement in the entire Richmond area. We offered to pick up. Then "gift tree" admitted they never placed the order and since it was the holiday weekend, they couldn't find a florist who could make the arrangement. We begged them to find a florist who could just prepare flowers to pick up. They said they couldn't help us. But, they did offer an alternate delivery date and delivery address. I am certain delivering a funeral wreath to a home four days after a funeral is in very poor taste. Still waiting for a manager to call me. And, they still haven't credited my account. Poor service all around.

“Rancid and stale snacks and candy ”

My son and his family sent a wine and snack basket to me for Mother's Day. Very pretty presentation but upon opening the snacks, stale and or rancid popcorn, candy and crackers. Plus, they thought there were two bottles of wine in the basket they ordered, basket contained only one. My daughter-in-law asked me if I liked the red or white wine the best so they must have ordered basket with both. Shame on the company for sending substandard items in a gift box when they know no one wants to complain back to the gift purchaser that the gift wasn't any good. I definitely wouldn't send a box as a gift after the nasty box I was given

“GiftTree ruined my daughter's birthday ”

Wow, I really wish I would have read these reviews prior to placing my order at GiftTree. I cannot believe that this company is still in business. After a botched delivery...to add insult to injury, the quality was so cheap and looked nothing like the picture. The only reason I went ahead and placed my order for a special birthday delivery for my daughter at her work is because it allowed me to request the exact day for delivery. Unfortunately, after receiving a confirmation (not estimated) day for delivery I was very pleased until I decided to check the status on my FedEx tracking number. Uh oh!!! It was being delivered four days early! No! I called customer service and was reassured that they will have FedEx hold the item as previously requested for the proper delivery date. I decided to double-check the status again and low and behold it was still set for the wrong delivery date. I called customer service again and Ms. Nelson told me that there was nothing she could do and that "they are only cookies" and the email I received with the confirmed delivery date was "just a generic email that they send out". Unbelievable! The email had my daughter's name in it and was explaining the confirmed date but they could not confirm the time (I had asked for it to be delivered before 2pm) but I was fine with whatever time as long as the date was correct. How is that a generic email!? This delivery was part of a birthday surprise at her work and it failed. I will never order nor recommend GiftTree to anyone. At the end of the conversation with customer service, they said they would refund my $8.95 delivery fee...woop-dee-doo...

“Worst Company Ever!!”

We ordered balloons, candy and champagne for our son's 30th Birthday. He NEVER received our gift. I paid extra to have the gift delivered before 2 PM. We were very disappointed. I called Gift Tree 3 times that day to be told they had a confirmation of delivery. They lied!! I asked who signed for the delivery, time of delivery and confirmation number. I was not given any information. The representatives were very RUDE and didn't care. They blamed their third party vendors. That is not what we paid for. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT REPUTABLE!!!

“Wine acceptable, Snacks HORRIBLE”

They receive one star only because the wine was nice, enjoyable, acceptable. The snacks were HORRIBLE. They were all RANCID to the point that we had to spit them out. Every time we opened one we thought that the prior ones were an error in packing and shipping....WRONG! EACH one was GROSS. The chocolates, from a reputable company, were as to be expected however 4 of them in a box that could easity hold 12 or more was an embarrassment...or should be. I would not have come to this site to write a review had the company at least responded to my correspondence. I received this as a gift from my brother and did not want to tell him of the terrible experience with the snacks, but I may do so now so that he does not EVER use them again. Shame on Gift Tree for taking good money and providing bad products. Customers beware and shop elsewhere! What should my brother have known before he made this purchase, as the prompt question asks? He should have known the snack products literally stink! Don't shop here!

“pricey and not reliable”

Wish i had read the reviews of Giftree service on this website before ordering! Had found their prices a little bit high, especially the shipping, but thinking that for the price and placing the order one week ahead, i would make my best friend thrilled on her Birthday. Total failure. I was told on that day only that there was NO FLORIST able to deliver flowers to my friends address.And kept receiving mail after mail, day after day, saying they would try again " next day", adding a "bear" ( friend is 67!) or a chocolate box ( she has diabetes...), until i ask them to refund me. Which they did, and that's why i put 2 stars. Will never order again with them.

“One item not what I ordered”

 Gave 2 stars because did get order on time and 1 item was what I asked for. The Angel I ordered under Angel of Memories was correct Angel. The Tree Globe listed under Tree of Enchantment was not the tree I ordered. I ordered the Tree of Celebration listed under title of Tree of Enchantnent. The rep serving me had no idea what I was referring to. She said she couldn't find it. I told her what it was listed under. She said she finally found it. NOT TRUE!!!! What I received was the Tree called "Spring." GUESS THEY SEND WHATEVER THEY WANT! The company needs to do a better job of training their employees!!! She was totally incompetent!!! Employees need to be as familiar with the products as possible. When I stated I wanted the Tree of Celebration, she should have known it was under the title of Tree of Enchantment! I spent much money to not receive all that I asked for. Don't know if I will ever order from your company again. I certainly won't recommend it to anyone!!! “Save your money”

Received a basket for my birthday from a family member. It was the absolute worst gift basket I have ever gotten. It looked nice as a package but everything was stale. On top of that there was hardly anything in the multiple boxes. I have gotten a lot of gift baskets in my time but this one was so bad, it wouldn't even compare with anything else I have ever gotten. I tasted most things then threw the whole mess in the garbage where it belongs.

We are in 100% agreement with this comment. Received a basket as a gift. Looks pretty, however, yes, everything was stale! Large boxes with small amount of product. Didn't really matter as we did throw it all away in the garbage, too, after trying them. Only thing we kept was the basket. Can be used to store stuff. I feel bad for the person who spent money on this. I would never ever use gifttree.com!!

“DO NOT USE THEM”

Where to begin? Ordered an arrangement for a funeral, paid $5 extra to have it delivered next day at the viewing. Received call the next day to inform me it could not be delivered that day. Agreed to give credit and guaranteed me it would arrive at the church the following day for the funeral, said I would receive a confirmation e~mail of the delivery. I didn't receive the confirmation email so I called the 800# with only an hour to spare before the funeral. Customer service representative checked & said it would arrive on time. Thirty minutes later I received a call from the actual florist informing me she was waiting for confirmation from me to process the order. At that point it had not even been arranged & of course missed the delivery truck for that day. The outrage that they do business this way is unacceptable. This was for a funeral & grief enters the picture here. There was no offer to make it right that day. They still had time to arrange for someone to drive it personally over to the graveside service but refused. Getting nowhere with the florist I asked for a refund & called the 800# again. By this time I was emotional but of course no one is held accountable for such ghastly service. And worse, they don't care. ,

“Warning: lies about next day funeral service. ”

DO NOT USE GIFTTREE.COM SERVICES AS THEY LIE ABOUT AVAILABLE NEXT DAY DELIVERY. (And who knows what else). After a dear friend in the family passed away, I was online searching for a suitable flower arrangement. I am currently working on a ship in Europe and since there was no way to call, I went on the online chat to double check that although it was Saturday afternoon, that the bouquet would make it there on Sunday. I gave the funeral home address and they ASSURED me that it would be there. That the funeral services take a high priority. I just received an email this afternoon that it never made it and the company will give me a call "at their leisure". This is pure bull. IF YOU CAN'T GUARANTEE ME THAT IT WOULD BE THERE, TELL ME. DON'T LIE ABOUT IT. Thank you for ruining my gesture in a time of sorrow. Let others be aware and use a better florist. One that doesn't lie.

“90th birthday cake not delivered”

I have spent a small fortune with this company over the past couple years. That is over now and I will shop somewhere else. I ordered the Chocolate Truffle Box Cake (over $229.95) for my grandmother's 90th birthday. Gift Tree said they were going to overnight it on June 11th so it would be there on June 12th, before the party. When it did not arrive I called Gift Tree and they said it wasn't supposed to be delivered until June 17th. I made sure that the dope I was speaking with repeated the date back to me, before I ended the call. This was very embarrassing for me. We had to go buy a last minute cake at the supermarket. I wish I had the dope's name so I could report him. He should be fired.

Gift Tree is the one that should be embarrassed, in fact they should be out of business for all the False Advertisement of what the promise and do not produce. This is horrible. “Very Disappointing ”

I purchased a fruit basket for my grandfathers birthday. I purchased it because the website said it could be delivered the following day. It was not delivered for 4 days... needless to say, late for his birthday. He recieved it and the pears were rotten and moldy, the apples were bruised and mealy, & the oranges were crushed. I called and spoke to a woman at customer service, she was nice enough and said that she would have another basket sent right out. I requested that it not be delivered until the following Monday and at a different address as he would be traveling. She said that was possible. It was delivered two days early. The pears were borderline again, but the rest of the fruit was ok. The nuts that were supposed to me in the basket however, werent there. This company is unbelievably shady and i wish I had read these reviews before I ordered. I had looked at the ones on their website but they all are glowing recommendations... not like here. I will never purchase anything from here again and I will make sure no one I know does either.

Item I ordered was delivered on time, but the picture shown on the site looked 200% better than the actual item delivered. I call this false advertisement. I would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND ordering from them again.

“Ordered a gift six days ago, still not delivered.”

I ordered a pricey fruit/snack basket ($90) at Gift Tree last Sunday, March 10th, and was given an estimated delivery date of Tuesday March 12th. The item wasn't shipped until Tuesday and as of today (Friday afternoon) it is still in transit. The new "estimated" delivery date is Monday, March 16th, over a week since I ordered the item. Of course, there's no guarantee it will actually arrive on Monday. I wonder just how fresh the fruit will be when it finally gets to its destination. I read reviews that made this company sound good. They must all be written by employees or relatives. I am totally disgusted with the service. They obviously must be able to estimate a closer "real time" delivery estimate. I feel like I was misled and I will NEVER order from this company again.
