Despite getting over 50% discount on the four pieces of clothing I purchased, AA is so overpriced that the discounted prices, if you look at it plainly, are actually regular / expected prices for such items. I bought a hooded jacket - it was originally ~$70, but I got it for ~$35; which is what hoodies normally cost in Australia. Thinking that because the original price was so high, I'd be getting a hoodie of superior quality compared to the regular ones that I can get here for the same $35 price. I was very wrong. 3 of 4 items that I ordered were low quality and I would not have purchased them if I knew I could get better items at Cotton On for the same price. The zipper of the jacket did not zip smoothly, the materials of the 3 items were thin and felt as if they would just disintegrate after a few washes. Delivery was fine - all of the items arrived as expected. The shipping number they gave me was invalid so I had to call up, and customer service tracked my item for me. I told my friends not to purchase from the AA website unless they have seen the product in person.

I bought a pair of shorts online. They had a defect. They sewed fabric underneth the button making it almost impossible to button. I called customer service asking for an exchange. She said I needed to email a picture of the defect and she had to send it to another dept. to review it and they decide if I can exchange it or not. I never heard anything back. After a week I drove an hour to a store and exchanged them. I emailed them letting them know but still no response. I wont buy through thier online store again.

I love American Apparel. Their jeans fit like a dream, but, the fact you can get all their stuff delivered to your door, definitely sounded too good to be true. I ordered two pairs of easy jeans, which came to exactly £132, which, i evaluated as being worth it-since i love the pair i own already. However, when i went to purchase them online, i was halted by a notification on the page stating that, 'your order cannot be processed.' i perceived this as being a floor in their computing system, as i had both the money, and a working card to afford this order. I tried again, and again, but received the same notification. I eventually gave up, realising that it just wasn't working. A few days later i received a call, followed by a letter, from my bank. They stated that there has been 'unusual activity' on my card. I realised, with a little information from my bank, that they were all purchases off americanapparel.com. I'd been charged three times for my 'failed' payment, which resulted in me paying out a total of £392 along with random and unnecessary charges of £1 from american apparel in-between. I checked my email, but there is no record of any email saying 'we have received your order' ,or, 'your order is on its way' since contacting the company, i have received no response and no refund, leaving a big sum of £395 (including the £1 charges) from my account. I have, longer than a week onwards, received nothing from american apparel I suggest that if you want to buy from here, buy from their shops, NOT ONLINE, it's not worth the risk, nor the burden-horrible company.

I bought a groupon for american apparel with an american express gift card I received for christmas. I bought $80 worth of clothes and was given a tracking number that was completely invalid. Three weeks after ordering, I contacted customer service who gave me a different tracking # and told me my package was delivered by USPS. It was not delivered. I never received it. Instead of offering a solution, they told me they were not responsible for lost or stolen packages and to call my post office! How about a "sorry, we can offer you this..." For such a large company you'd think they could afford to offer an incentive after such a bad experience. I used a gift to purchase their clothes, and I promise I will never purchase anything from them again.

HM is an every girls dream type of shop. The shoe quality is awesome, customer service and shipping is great too. Definitely cant beat there prices, I find myself on that site every day its soooo addictive!

Avoid this company !Arrogant dismissive customer services. I complained about garment because it started to fall apart after a couple of months of wear,I was refused refund or exchange. They attempt to intimidate complaining customers by threatening to file a police complaint if they continue to call.This is a tactic which according to the police has no basis and should be ignored.The matter is now with Trading Standards. The company has many lawsuits against them,I read in Wikipedia including SEVEN from sexual harassment. The way this company treats its customers reflects the rotten culture within. Do not waste your money on their overpriced poor quality products.

Couldn't have put it together better! I wish I read this and other reviews before my online purchase. I'm so winded up with this business altogether. And apparently I shouldn't even bother making another complaint about my case as they don't seem to care. Unbelievable.

I ordered a dress of the American apparel website. I got an email saying it was a 'backorder' as it was out of stock and it could take 2-3 weeks to ship. As I needed the item for the next week I gave feedback on their website explaining how I would need the item for a particular date next week. I got a reply back saying I could either cancel the order or wait for it to be delivered in the next 2-3 weeks. I proceeded with the order and the item arrived 3 days before the date I had told them that I needed it for. Excellent service thank you American apparel!

I ordered some thigh high socks from AA when they had the 30% off sale. After my order arrived, I received an email from someone called James on the 1st May telling me that one of the colours had ordered had sold out and he gave me the option of a replacement or a refund. I replied to the email on the 5th if May staying that I would like to get a refund. Since then I have not had any reply from AA despite sending several emails, submitting an online enquiry and messaging them on their Facebook. And now after sending my latest email, nearly a month later, I get an automated reply from James staring that he no longer works at American apparel and that I should direct my enquiries to another guy who I assume is his successor. Whatever happened to customer service and handing overcurrent issues to the next person? I just want my money back and am sick of dealing with this crappy company.

Great products but terrible online purchasing experience - unpredictable yet expensive delivery, and poor returns policy - be sure to check you can return your item at all! Ignore their estimated delivery dates online - if its anything urgent, just go into the store. If it's not urgent then I guess it's not a problem. I was told a date to expect an item (a gift). It didn't arrive that day or the next, spoke to customer services who couldn't do any more than say all shipping dates are estimated and that's that. AA need to elarn from the likes of ASOS* - always quick and cheap delivery with free reutns, exactlyw hat you need when buying clothes online. *ASOS stock a lot of AA so try use them rather than the AA website.

Ordered over £100 worth of clothes as there was 30% off, wouldn't normally as it is extremely over-priced. For a start it took about 2 weeks for some of the clothes to arrive and they had sent me two of the same item. And they had forgotten to send me a pair of Easy Jeans costing £64. The clothes were creased and shoved in small bags. Rang customer services who put me on hold for a long time, and when I finally got through to someone they were very rude, sarcastic and arrogant. They refused to send the jeans until they recieved the extra skirt they had sent me, I refused as it would have meant me going out of my way and having to pay extra for postage. I was getting impatient and angry so they finally agreed to send the jeans; they said they would send me an email when they have dispatched them, however I still haven't recieved an email. Absolutely disgusting delivery and customer service. Very disorganised. Clothes are way over-riced for what they are, certainly will not be ordering from them agian.

I ordered 3 items from the EU website in October 2012; 1 item was missing from the order; I returned another item (which costs approx. a 100 euros) and still haven't been refunded!! I've got proof that they received my return parcel... customer service does not answer my emails!! If I could give anyone an advice, DO NOT ORDER ANYHTING from the American Apparel EU website!!!!

I never received my $100 order nor was I ever given a refund. I can't even get into contact with anyone. It has been over a month since I placed the order. Nice job, AA. Now I'm out $100 and my son has nothing to wear. I will NEVER ever shop here again and I'll make sure everyone I know knows exactly why.

I ordered this jacket on October 8th. Today is November 25th and I still have NOT received this jacket. It has been nearly two months now. Let me describe how BEYOND TERRIBLE their service is: First, they lost my shipment. It wasn't until I followed up a week and a half later that I found out and that is when they ordered a replacement shipment. Otherwise I would have never received my shipment. When I finally did receive my shipment a month later, it was the wrong item. I had to ship the item back to their factory (you cannot take online orders to return in stores). I have called to find out what the status of my order is and it is still "processing in returns." I have not been refunded my money, nor have they sent out the replacement yet, even though they received the jacket I mailed back two weeks ago now. Nearly TWO MONTHS LATER AND I AM STILL WAITING TO RECEIVE MY JACKET. DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE, BAD POLICIES, UNORGANIZED PROCESSING INFORMATION, ETC. I will NEVER order from American Apparel again and DO NOT recommend other to order from them.

I ordered a hoodie from AA a week ago today. It says it takes two business days to dispatch items and I have yet to receive a dispatch confirmation email. I have wrote two emails to them with no reply back! I am so annoyed. I have no idea where my order is and worst of all, my card has been charged the £40 the hoodie costs. Have no idea what to do.

It seems like all of the people has the same problem here... Poor delivery... I still did not get my clothes although I delivered a week ago... But still I love their everything about their products, style, patterns, materials etc. I hope they will find a solution to their delivery problem soon cause I prefer to shop online only if the delivery arrives on time.

I bought two items off of the UK American Apparel site and was notified that it had shipped the same day. The estimated delivery they give is a week from when it was shipped; it has been 10 days and i've yet to receive anything. I have tried emailing their customer service but no one seems to bother to reply. I once ordered a headband and it took 2 weeks to arrive, at this time I also emailed American Apparel- but no reply! Even after I got the headband, no one bothered to reply to my email. The delivery service they used is 'tracked' however they do not actually give the customers their tracking numbers. I think the slow, poor delivery service maybe due to the fact that they use HDNL/YODEL to deliver the goods (who have a history of fraudulent and failed deliveries). American Apparel need to change their courier and get someone to actually answer the phone calls and emails! Terrible customer service, avoid buying things online if possible.

I placed an online order 2 weeks ago with them. I tracked my order, and on the day it was Supposed to arrive, I instead recieved someone else's order. I got their shirt, their invoice, everything. I had ordered 3 bra's. It was a $56 order. I e-mailed and called that day and let them know of the problem. They told me that because the other peson's order number was so close to my order number, they must've gotten confused. They said they would overnight my order to me, and that it would take 2 days tops for me to receive it. That was on a Monday, and they promised me I'd get my order Wednesday at the latest. So, the Following Monday I Still don't have my order. I called again, and this time they told me that they had Cancelled my second order because there was still a chance that I might receive the First order. I told them about my previous conversation with them and how they'd confirmed with me that the other person Did receive my order. So No, it was not on it's way to me. It's sitting at someone else's house. So...they supposedly are once again sending it to me. It should take 2 days tops, they say. So at the latest, I should get it tomorrow...but I am losing hope. It seems that no one I speak to Really cares. I gave them my money...now I'm just waiting forever for the actual product. DON'T ORDER FROM THEM. I WILL DEFINITELY NEVER MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN.

Not happy. Placed order with UK site. Order apparently shipped the same day as i had an email confirming this. They omitted the Royal Mail tracking ID from the shipping email so i cannot track it myself.
This was all 3 weeks ago.
I have left several messages via the on line form and their lines are open at 9.30 to physically speak to someone. I rang and got the answer machine at 9.45am. Twice. Not sure what the next step is.
They should have given me the tracking number and they perhaps should actually offer some customer service ... any would be good.

Love the range of bright and colourful clothes! They have some really unique pieces and great basics too. I ordered 3 dresses, 2 were delievred at the same time and one was delayed, but I was notified of the delay. I got free shipping and the overall cost for the dresses was very low, plus I love them!! Would definately order from American Apparel Store again

did your order say `your order cannot be processed` or `your card cannot be authorized` ?
I just tried multiple times to order and it said `your card cannot be authorized` and now I am afraid the same thing will happen to me. Please write back!
