Good Points: Seats are comfy, I drive about 55 miles a day 5 days a week and they are very comfortable. This is the Cadillac of pickup trucks. 4X4 works real good and I also have the G80 auto locking rear diff and it ™s great.
Bad Points: Gas guzzler. I have the 5.7l v-8. I knew it was going to be bad because I traded a 1992 2wd identical gmc 5.7l v-8 that got 12 avg. Now I get 14 avg. 3.42 rear axle ratio on both of them
General comments: Wouldn't sell truck unless totaled in wreck. They are about the best truck out there. I work for a Chevrolet dealer and wouldn't trade for 2008 new Z71 with all the bells and whistles.

I purchased the Chevrolet Silverado Z71 new in 2000. From day one it was a disappointment. Problems from fuel pump to gas hand to transmission to rust. Every known issue with these trucks manifested itself in my $40,000 lemon. GM dropped the ball on this vehicle and didn't address any of the known issues until the 2007 model year. I was always a Chevy truck fan and have owned 6 new ones. This model was by far the worse of the bunch.
