    Good Points: nice design

General comments: The connecting part on the breville jk121 kettle between the kettle body part and the base part becomes loosen and does not conduct electricity. Customer service simply said that it is out of warranty (after two years?) Not recommended.

This Breville JK121 kettle started leaking between the inner and outer layers. This allowed water to reach the electrics in the base of it, highly dangerous!

The Breville JK121 kettle was a gift and started to play up after 9 months - the lid kept partially opening. Now after 12 months the kettle wont turn off. We have contacted Breville about the problem and gave them the serial number, they said without a receipt they will not do anything as the date code shows it to be 18 months old. This seems to be a common problem with these kettles. Its very simple Breville, I won't be buying any more of your products.

The stand on our Breville JK121 does not have rubber feet so it has a tendancy to move across our granite work surface, the unit does not sit properly on its base and wobbles and now the kettle keeps turning it self on and boiling and till no waters left then it gets very hot as it is switching itself on without any water in the kettle.

The Breville JK121 looks nice when we first bought it - in the matt chrome and lurmnashion look great.warm button at the top of the handle is a great idea to keep the water heated.

Breville is a top brand as is Brita. At £50 I am amazed the product is so poor. I have had 3 since Xmas and the 3rd one is going back. All different faults. 1st just stopped working (not fuse as light remained on), 2nd started making 'fizzling' noises like electric shorting and 3rd wont switch off! Fortunately Argos as the retailer have been excellent.

I've had my JK121 replaced three times now and it keep developing a fault where the points do not contact the base properly and it wont work or when it does it sparks and hisses.

The lip opens with push of a button and makes filling kettle very easy and fun! (Only one hand needed.) Looks great too. The filter process alone is very quick, but even better - is the fact that it can boil whilst filtering - superb feature. Filters are approx £4 each - hence not cheap. But do boast better filtration than others... Best to buy in bulk. Overall very impressed. Be suprised if you dont love it too.. Love it - order one now!
