    The only redeeming positive characteristic of Air China (is the attentive care of the flight attendants; otherwise Air China is very poor. We were packed into an old, very old Boeing 757 with dirty bathrooms, cramped seats and no restrictions on the amount that people could bring on board, thus, pandemonium broke-out. The food was poor. The flight from Beijing to Bangkok took an extra hour and a half because of a late departure and very late arrival. Before landing the bathroom septic backed-up and the sewage order filled the cabin. When I arrived I found that Air China left my bags in Bangkok. What's not to like?

    Our home journey should have been Sydney to bejing to Heathrow but we landed at Shanghai...to be off loaded....have our passports taken away from us for 40minutes....then marched around the airport in a cirlce to be put back on the plane just in time to take off....
    We were all crammed onto a mini bus to take us to our over night hotel in Bejing. The hotel was very very very basic, in fact I was surprised there was electricity and water in the rooms. Breakfast was horrid. Fishy things...

    Air China. A surprisingly good airline, that seems to be fighting to shake off its previous reputation, and succeeding.

    On time, great service, clean. Air china has changed since the past. I would recommend. Service, food and comfort all 10 out of 10.

    I would not recommend anyone attempt to book any Air China flights on their Air China USA website. It is a nightmare. They use Expedia.com, who uses another company to do the paper work. I cancelled my flight and have been fighting now for more than four hours to get a refund on my cancelled flight.

    The older planes were appalling, One TV for the whole plane that wasn't working - no sound and picture quality was poor. Service was awful. When someone did attend to you they often didn't return or understand what you wanted. Choice of drinks was very basic and food unappealing.
    The worst flight I've ever taken.

    i booked a trip to melbourne with air china, supposed to travel from london to beijing and then on to melbourne. when i arrived to check in at london i was told i would have to collect my bags in beijing. when i asked why i was told that it was because of the way my travel agent had booked the lights (ie 2 separate flights instead of single flight to melbourne). i asked again why i had to collect my bags when i had cleared security and was told that it was because of a problem with australian ...
