“So much fun!”

★★★★★

written by eqFreeman425 on 28/02/2015

I sold my ZX9 after my baby girl was born to save money and I'm so glad I got this bike. As reliable as everyone says, still quick enough to overtake the crawlers and fantastic fuel economy. £16 tax £85 insurance and about £50 a year on fuel. The only thing I miss about my Ninja is the cornering, the Honda is a bit slow to lean but that's probably normal for scooters. If this broke I'd buy it again, and if a 150cc model pops up (rare in UK) I'll get that and try the motorway.

written by applesails on 30/01/2014

I have a 2006 model these days it wont start and the garage is at a loss to know what the problem is last year the battery kind of expanded and it turned out it was a regulator; it went thru three batteries before the fault was fixed now even when fully charged it either starts first tome or after several goes or' not at all its only done 5000 miles its always been serviced properly and regularly.

“what a bike !”

written by on 07/09/2013

- history - I have had two of these bikes the first did 25000 miles or so then it got stolen and written off. the second had done 54000 miles and now no longer wants to start up =( I've changed the exhaust more times then I can count all with official Honda exhausts, the bike it's self has started up first time every time even at 3 in the morning at -3 degrees. It is just that dam good I've had it stood for 2 months and it's started up on the second attempt, this is the AUDI of motorbikes.

I baught my 05 dylan 125 for only 250pound yes thats right with only 14k miles it was owend from new by a 34 year old woman from new ans she fell of this summer leaving light plastic damage to RH Side, for the money I wasnt exspecring much but by god I was shock with a said 13.5 - 14bhp it shifts with great acceleration I can get 70mph on a flat but realistically 65mph it been well service with genuine parts all the time and it runs a dream it fires up first touch every time, really smooth engine and good breaks the only problems I have had was the head stock bearings nut came lose and a relatively common problem the baffles in the exshaughst worked lose form the welding apart from them fairly minor problems its a fantastic bike with I will be keeping untill the engine packs up but hoping that will be some time as I have see and heard of around 30k miles before losing slight power and it tends to turn up about the belt and rollers this is a well built machine packing honda 4stroke reliability with parts easy to get hold of and genuine partsi.e air filters belts oil filters etc been quite cheep this is a bike you should buy and you will only know why you should buy it when you ride it

“Honda SES 125-4 Dylan, incredible!!!”

★★★★★

written by MrLJD on 27/08/2012

This scooter is a must buy! I bought mine a month ago and boy was that the best decision I've ever made! This scooter is amazing! very economical, moves like s**t off a shovel, and handles great! Couldn't recommend it high enough. Would suit from a relatively new rider up to an experienced rider. One ride on these two wheels and I ask myself the question, 'Why do people drive around on 4 wheels, when you can dodge the traffic and save loads of commuting time, pay less than half the price of the fuel economical car costs, pay a sixth of the price of a car on insurance, pay £16 a year tax, £30 MOT and most all of own a brilliant Honda machine!?...Absolute no brainer!!! Honda build is quality. So far no complaints.

“60-70 miles a day. Had completed 45,000 miles and...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 14/03/2011

60-70 miles a day. Had completed 45,000 miles and finally got so fed up with getting it fixed I traded it in for an SH125 (Big mistake...despite the bigger wheels all the same issues!). Lost count of the number of failed exhausts and the number of times the output shaft bearings were changed (at least 4 exhaust and 6 bearing replacements). They first failed when the bike had only done 120 miles! I hadn't even gone faster than 35mph by that point!

It's a real shame as the rest of the bike is fantastic. I could even live with the exhaust failures...just not the bearing problems

If you ride more then 10 miles each way get a proper bike. Avoid Dylan, SH, PS or any other v-belt Honda

I rode my PS125 about 5000 miles until a car pulled out in front of me; never had a problem with it.

I rode my last SH300 for 10,000 miles without a problem, until I sold it to my girlfriend and bought a second SH300.

Sounds like you had very bad luck.

I would buy this scooter again and again. Good braking, fast acceleration, well designed and gives the rider confidence.
An oil check flashes on the dash every 2,500 miles (but check it manually with the dipstick every week to be sure you have oil)
Excellent scooter, well done Honda.

The VW Golf of Scooters. Starts first time every time, well screwed together , reliable and easy to get parts for. Fuel tank is a little small, 8 quid gets me about 135 miles. Would highly recommend. Don't buy cheap chinese bikes. They get damp and dont start.

i have had my honda dylan for 4 months now and have had very little problems with it. some minor work has been done due to internal collapse which was easily fixable at no cost to me. the honda dylan is a very nippy scooter and has managed up to 70mph and being only 17, this is pretty fast. being a girl i had second thoughts about getting a scooter instead of a car but after getting a honda dylan i am glad i bought a scooter and has encouraged me to get another scooter ora motorbike later on. overall i would recommend this scooter to anyone looking for a reliable, stylish, nippy scooter and there is nothing i regret from purchasing this scoter. brilliant buy!

I put my Honda SES125 Dylan in a stable overnight and tomorrow I will ride a pony. I will spend the night in the tent which, with all the other gear, it brought all the way to the borders. Last time I went to a far distant mountain with a power station inside it. OK I`ve once or twice been glad of AA Relay but you should see the campers when I roll up behind a 3-bed 2 recep camper wagon! I have visited reindeer and was once charged by a furious buffalo. All right, there are a few scratches and dents but it`s done 23,000 miles after all. I can`t grumble, I am 76. And I thank Honda for making a bike that has meant so much to me.

i am 17 and i love the design of the scooter. i know im a girl and most are not really interested in sports designs anyway but for looks alone i would give it a 5 out of 5. love the look of the scooter, love the speed ability, very nippy. can overake easily. all my friends (boys) have a scooter (50cc- 100cc)of their own however mine is the fastest (125cc)which they are not happy about and all said they want it so u cant really say that because all my friends who are interested are 17 and 18. it doesnt matter about the looks, its performance and quality that counts. but good rating and comment :)

★★★★★

written by jimmy2471 on 25/07/2008

The Honda Dylan is a very fast scooter if you want to drive that way. It will take a full face helmet under the seat. It has a very good petrol cap that locks into place really well, the reason I put this in the review is the last scooter I had the petrol cap was pure rubbish had to fight with it to lock it. The good Honda build quality. Generous underseat storage, comfortable seat, stable ride, smooth engine, good acceleration even up hill. So far it looks very cheap to run and reliable. I would say 130 miles on 7 ltrs of petrol and not touching the reserve. A great choice of scooter Glad i bought the Honda Dylan 125.

written by jimmy2471 on 20/07/2008

Bought my Honda Dylan 24 June 2008 2 miles on clock. Apart from a little trouble with a duff battery, which the Honda dealer changed right away. What can i say - the scooter goes like a Dream 25th july it will go in for its first service at 600 miles. This scooter has to transport me 30 miles a day thats 180 miles a week to and from work. I have had three scooters and so far this is the best yet. This scooter is a dream come true after the heart ache of owning a chinese scoot called a sanben gladiatior 125 from dealer below. If you want to through away money just go to the address below. Every time I paid to get a part fixed another part would go, I could not keep up with the garage bills.

written by evansruss on 19/02/2008

The Honda Dylan is without doubt in my mind and many others the best 125 scoot around. With Hondas backup and a perfect machine to start with you just cant go wrong. I am a rider of 44 years experience and have never enjoyed riding a lightweight as much as I have this Dylan. There are many cheaper 125 scooters around but pay the price for a Honda and you will have the best there is!

No not really. My Honda SES 125-3 Dylan is 2006 and done over 20,000 miles and runs like new. The key thing is that it's been regularly serviced. I bought mine 2yrs ago when it had done 10,000 miles, and it had got full service history from new. Over the last 2yrs, I've had it serviced every 2,500 miles (in line with service schedule), and it has been a dream! I'd definitely recommend a Dylan to anyone. Need anymore info let me know no worries.
