I HAVE SHOT MANY A PIDGEON, ROOK, CROW AND RAT WITH THIS FANTASTIC SMK 17 AIR RIFLE. I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE 30 YARD ACCURACY COMES FROM. BUT WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS IN THE SHOP WHERE THE RIFLE WAS PURCHASED AS WELL. I LIVE IN THE OPEN COUNTRYSIDE AND NOT A BACKYARD TO SHOOT. SO THE 30 YARD RANGE DOES NOT APPLY TOO ME. YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT THE DISTANCE THIS RIFLE WILL KILL A BIRD STONE DEAD WITH JUST 1 SHOT. WE ALL KNOW BIRDS HAVE VERY GOOD EYESIGHT DON'T WE. SO DISTANCE IS MY APPROACH RATHER… Read Full Review

brought this gun at the weekend to target shoot in my grans garden. Incredible. I 'ummm'ed and 'arrrr'ed about it for a while before buying it from my local retailer. ive been back to my grans everyday so far just to shoot this baby, and ive nearly shot a full tin just from messing around! absolutely fabulous, would definitely recommend this gun to anybody buying this as their first air rifle… Read Full Review

I bought this rifle for my son but now we bicker over who is shooting when :)
It was bought from a local RFD and I sourced a 4x28 scope myself. Total cost of combo £80.
Initial thoughts are basically, what a bargain!
The gun itself looks well made, stock quality is much better than expected. I's a .22 and I've no proper chrony of power so no idea about that yet. Cocking the weapon for the first couple of shots was a little noisy but that has settled. The trigger is… Read Full Review

SMK 17 is a very good rifle for a younger person about 14, it is a break barel so it is quick to load, it is as acurate as you can get on a break barel, you can buy a .22 or .177, they are great value for money at about £70, it has a very good automatic safety feature whitch at first is very anoying but after a few shots it is second nature to remember to take it off, i purchased the .177 but i would rather have bought the .22 now i can look back, it has a rail to fix most scopes to it is idal… Read Full Review

Good all round gun. Safety catch can get annoying as automatically comes on everytime you cock the gun, not good for speed shooting e.g. shooting rats in a barn where you don't always have time to remove the safety if your going to hit your target! It is very accurate… Read Full Review

Very reliable, solid, good fun air rifle. You get what you pay for and it is indeed cheap! Though not to knock it at all - there are plenty of inferior air rifles on the market in the same price range as this one! (£70-100) The first thing i noticed when firing this gun is the awfully heavy single stage trigger, i consider it the biggest single flaw of the rifle, otherwise it really would be as good as the budget models of more prestigious manufacturers; consequently this interferes with the… Read Full Review

All around nice rifle, seems to be more popular in sportshops than online. Good power (9-10ft/lbs, realistically about 7-8) for price. Fit a good scope on and this will be a class rifle.
Absolutely recommended for new shooters with a low budget; experienced rifle owners will tell you NEVER to go for SMK, but with nothing else to compare to the SMK 17 is about as economic as springers go!
Absolutely NOT recommended if you've owned any other previous (BSA/Webley/AA etc) rifle.
Beware that… Read Full Review
