    Good Points: Very good mid- range and top end. Look fantastic on stands next to my system.


    Bad Points: Tend to struggle with REALLY low frequencies at high volume levels, but then again that could just be the amp...?


    General comments: Was totally impressed with them at the shop. Took them home and put them on a Yamaha AX-396, which drove them rather well, thanks to the mos-fets. But I still prefer the detailed highs from the Marantz PM-50 I managed to get my hands on. As mentioned above though, it struggles with the deap base, being an IC amp. It is amazing what a difference an amp makes on speakers. The Kef's really shine on the Marantz at medium levels.

    I have replaced 20 year old Celestion SL-6 pair with KEF iQ3, after eliminating MA BR2, Wharfedale D9.3, Dali Concept 2 and some others. At first KEFs were a bit "thin" and boxy. After 10 days of working out and some repositioning in the room, I have found deep satisfaction with KEFs. Do not place them on bookshelf - I have used sand filled iron pillars (each 20 kg) and put them 25 cm from rear wall - as room demanded.

    When I first heard these speakers at my HI-FI store I knew these were the ones for me even though Ii tested speakers that are a lot more expensive. They look fantastic and sounded even better on my system when I got them home.
    Very good deep bass and great midrange and tops. To be honest I can't fault them at all and when I have the money I think I will be buying some floor standers in the same range.
