“Five a day?”

Have just signed up for riverford veg and salad boxes again and was very disappointed. The asparagus was old and woody and the carrots were way past there best. The sad fact is that there was far too little food to feed the three of us for a week and I had to shop for more produce meaning my food bill was astronomical. “Bendy carrots & mealy apples”

Title pretty much sums it up, the fruit and veg I received from Riverford was nasty, worse than supermarket veg. Mainly because it tasted and looked like it had been sitting in a warm warehouse for a few weeks before being despatched. I'm new to organic veggies, and was aware the shapes and sizes would be gnarly and varied, but carrots should not bend, and apples should not be mushy. “Disappointing business practices”

I wanted to love Riverford... the idea of getting fresh organic fruit and veg - and supporting local farmers at the same time - I really wanted to love Riverford. “Sad old veg ”

I received my first Riverford organic veg box today and I was very disappointed. The delivery driver left the veg in the cupboard outside, without even bothering to knock on the door to see if anyone was in. When I checked the contents of the box, my heart sank. “Saves money - Tastes Great”

We've had Riverford every week for about 18 months and it's wonderful. Eating seasonally makes mealtimes more interesting and we've been introduced to a number of types of fruit and veg we'd have otherwise overlooked. Plus, it saves us money. I know they regularly check their prices against the organic ranges of leading supermarkets, but there's another slightly less obvious saving to be made. We have had three boxes so far and the freee fruit box. All produce was delicious, you do have to plan in advance to eat things quicker than the super market stuff but the taste is worth it. have been using them for sometime now and I have found them awful. In my Christmas order the bread was missing and the Bakewell tart was as hard as a brick and half raw. In the past I have had many items missing, rotten soggy tomatoes, mouldy cauliflowers and dead lettuces. The boxes have been left in the sun and in the rain, with no cover in the winter, rain and snow. Customer services are useless, they never get back to me (Norton) and Buckfastleigh are also unhelpful. Gave me a whole £10 for the inconvenience of the Christmas order. I had NO bread for Christmas! This was 2 days before Christmas, plenty of time to get bread out to me. All he said to me was " I must find out how this has happened". What good is that to customers? So avoid them. Such a big disappointment.

I'm surprised at some of the poor reviews here. I started ordering from Riverford some 7 years ago and am very happy with them. I don't order the fruit and vegetable box, as I prefer the locally grown vegetables, and prefer to pick and choose the fruit I want. Or buy elsewhere. To refer to some of the criticisms - unfresh vegetables. Frankly, I just don't recognise this - on the contrary, the level of freshness is such that sometimes I say the vegetables look happy! That was the first and last time we spend our money on complete rubbish and when i rang the and told the company they could not care one bit. did you speak to Riverford about this disappointing delivery or did you just cancel the box? I would be interested to know what they had to say and why they were unable to persuade you to stay as you mention you had used them for years and therefore presumably a loyal customer!

For a couple of years or so I have had weekly deliveries from Riverford and have not had anything to complain about much, and when I did I found the customer service team both speedy and helpful. I have been so impressed with this farm service. Each week they publish what is in the boxes so I am able to change my mind a few days before and change my delivery order. “Low customer service when something goes wrong”

Fine first few weeks, then an error on their website led to them not pausing my order for long enough while we were on holiday. i had a problem with riverford as well they suspended my account and asked for money up front all because i opened a account online for my freind and accidently put my address for my freind i tried to correct it which i did then i ended up haveing my acount suspended and a phone call from (name removed) at riverford pointing out there was 3 accounts i said yes one me one my friend for deliverys i said plse delete the other account i made a mistake online with entering my freinds details and apologised and thnked her for pointing the error out she then said it looked dodgy and wanted payment up front as if i was a criminal and i was so upset as me and my friend where looking forward to our boxs i said i can allow you to take payment just before delivery no problem but no she wanted it days before i said forget it!! no customer service no help an rude
