“Avoid, appalling sevice. Twice!”

Written on: 01/02/2013

My Parents, who are in their eighties, have twice in the last year had reason to call out Britannia Rescue. Both times Britannia's response has been appalling. On the first occasion they advised them, when locked out of their car, to catch a taxi home, which involved a 40 mile round trip. The second time they called, due to a flat tyre, Britannia said that they where not covered and so could not help. At no time did the operator ask to check their details and hung up on them. They have... (read more)

“Very poor service -avoid . Not customer focused.”

Written on: 26/07/2012

Having been a member for many years, I have had to make two call outs in the last few weeks. On the first occasion we were left waiting 90 minutes and were finally attended to by an agent in an 02 reg scruffy van. He seemed to have a lot of trouble just to work out a cage system on a standard high volume selling modern car and we were at times left wondering whether the problem was even going to be fixed. To be fair he did eventually manage to fix the problem in the end and we were able to... (read more)

“QUICK RESPONSE TIME”

Written on: 06/04/2012 by johnofwheelers (1 review written)

I think it very much depend on the locality I run minibuses in rural Shropshire and have had problems with some breakdown services because their vehicles have to come from afar Britannia use a local contractor and the last time we had a problem the rescue vehicle arrived at the scene of the breakdown quicker than I did from our base with a replacement bus. My insurers have just sent me my renewal with an alternative company who include the AA in the premium I've rejected that policy even... (read more)

My son bought a Brittania Rescue policy just before a trip to Wales, he broke down there on Sunday with a shredded drive belt less than 36 hours later!
10 mins after calling Brittania, help arrived from a local garage! The mechanic took the car away to his work to return 30 mins later, the car fixed!
Now, I know this is an unusual case, with the mechanic living so close, but this service was quite amazing. Top marks Brittania and thanks to a friendly and competant mechanic. (read more)

I have had to call them out a couple of times in the last year when my motorbike has broken down. The service has always been very good, with it having to be taken in a van from London to Brighton and then the next day to a garage, all of which was covered. My only issue is with the response time which was over an hour on all 3 occasions. The services is also relatively expensive. (read more)

Ive been with Britannia for the last 8 years now and have always raved about the excellent service... until now. In the last couple of months we had to call them out twice, both times we've had to wait nearly 2 hours and when the roadside assistance eventually came they werent tow trucks, just poorly equipted vans that were unable to help. Call centre staff were also uncaring to the point of being very rude; one said we were lucky they responded within 2 hours as others had to wait longer!!?... (read more)

Until a month ago I would have recommended Britannia Rescue highly but we have been unfortunate enough to have to call them out twice in the last month - the first time on a sunday afternoon when our exhaust snapped going over a speed bump. They took 90 minutes to arrive and we had to call them twice to find out where they were. The second time was at 11.30pm when we came back to our car from an evening out to find a flat battery. This time we had to wait just under 2 hours and call back... (read more)

I have used Britania Rescue for about 3 years now (on 2 cars). I must have called them out nearly 10 times so I know a fair bit about their service!

The phone operators always answer within 30 seconds of phoning (usually instantly), the operator although they do not sound mechanically wise, they are very polite and take any notes that they need to do.

Call outs are selected local garages, not their own fleet like the AA or RAC, this means you get a varied customer service from each company... (read more)

I once broke down near Larkhall, Lanarkshire while on the way to Gatwick to catch a flight to Tenerife with friends. Despite only having Comprehensive cover, I was upgraded automatically to Deluxe cover and put on an Easyjet flight to Luton to meet up with friends from Rugby with whom we were going on holiday. This way we made our Gatwick flight with an hour to spare which we would never have done otherwise. Thanks Britannia Rescue! (read more)

I've used you once in 5 years. And when I tried to get some money back because I've bought a 2 year old car which is. Covered by their own rescue, I was told no. I'm now thinking Of not bothering next year because I'm covered twice. One would think a newer car would be less likely to need
Assistance. (read more)
