“No communication”

written by Daveww on 04/04/2018

Having called for assistance at 6 15 I was told 60 to 90 minutes. What I didn’t expect was to wait over 2 1/2 hours, then when the guy turned up he told me he had only just been rung. Communication needs to improve!

“Poor renewal service”

★★☆☆☆

written by Kmb52 on 28/02/2018

Our problems arose because we had received no renewal reminders or quotes. Thus being on holiday we had missed the date for renewal. When we needed assistance we had to pay an emergency call out fee even though we were prepared to renew immediately..

This takes place with immediate effect so, if you are unfortunate enough to breakdown from now until your policies expiry date please rest assured that and you and your vehicle(s) will be fully covered for rescue. You will not have to do anything further unless you have purchased an alternative policy, if this is the case then please confirm the breakdown companies name and policy number and a copy of your receipt and we will organise a full refund of the monies paid to Drive24-7. You will 14 days from today to make a claim therefore please act swiftly if this is the case, after the 14 days has expired we shall be unable to provide refunds. Please send any requests to our site. I am extremely pleased we have resolved this issue for our customers but at the same time apologise for this situation ever occuring and for the inconvenience and stress you may have experienced but, I am pleased we are now able to reinstate your breakdown policy(s) and provide full breakdown cover for you and your vehicle(s). They emailed me 2 days before my renewal was due and I'd already got an alternative but waited to see how much renewal was. It was cheaper even applied a discount so I paid it, a week later I get email saying they gone bust, no replies to any emails I've sent even them on the breakdown number, call assist think there called, can't even help with any info

“4 hr wait for recovery ”

★★☆☆☆

written by Unbelievable12345 on 03/11/2017

Had been with 24-7 for a few years, mainly due to their reasonable pricing ( like most others I would have thought). Can't remember using them in the past. Wife broke down the other week on the motorway! Yes Motorway. Told that it would be a priority We waited 4 hrs for recovery. Absolutely not interested when I complained. Proof is in pudding. Won't be renewing next year. Company run by amateurs.

“Where's my refund”

★★☆☆☆

written by Thistlenil on 20/04/2017

I decided to finish with 24/7 as I was getting rid of my car, they would refund less £25 for administration fees, which I thought we're excessive, however I agreed to accept. I actually notified them before my year commenced although I had paid for the coming year. They have completely ignored me and as yet I have not got rid of my car,so am I still entitled to their service for the coming year or are they holding on to my refund,Ireally don't know where I stand with them.Reading other reviews I am not surprised with my treatment and I can't really wish them well. Thanks for the opportunity to air my grievances.I

“Very unfair”

★★☆☆☆

written by TerranceSpence424 on 27/01/2017

I renewed my breakdown cover yesterday and was unfortunate enough to go to my car at 2am this morning and it wouldn't start so I rang this morning for assistance only to be told I couldn't claim for 48 hours from purchasing it! So my cover starts from when I purchase it but I can't get help until 2 days later so I'm not covered for the full year thus is absolutely appalling. I was with this company last year but never again!

“Slow.”

★★☆☆☆

written by 178Knight on 22/12/2016

Car broke down and we had our six week old son in the car. It was October so dark and wet. We had to wait over three hours for breakdown to arrive as they didn't see us as a priority, stating we could all seek shelter in the local shop....there was one local shop! Breakdown driver was sent from over 70 miles away and even he questioned why we were kept waiting that long and why he was sent from so far away. If you've ever had a baby your realise why we were annoyed.

“Review BEFORE you use 24/7”

★★☆☆☆

written by Kehoebu319 on 29/10/2016

Asks for a review immediately after payment has been received. Is this the only reason for 24/7's great ratings? Let's hope not! At the moment I have paid a remarkably good price for the cover, the sign up procedure was efficient and painless and am pleased with the deal but not with this request for a review. If I need to use the service, I will be in a position to review it

“dont buy if going to france”

★★☆☆☆

written by LaurenRyan197 on 29/08/2016

To cut a very long story short. I was motorcycling across france and bought what I thought was fool proof breakdown/recovery cover prior to setting off. Unfortunately I broke down in some suberbs not aclue where I was. Mobile phone had no signal and not a word of french in my vocabulary. I managed to get the bike going and got to a autoroute. At an aire my bike had issues again, I thought it was a good time to ring drive24-7. I knew where I was(every aire is named)and I could borrow a phone to ring them. The actual phone call was a joke the recorded message was a on a long loop and went round twice I hung up and after a few attempts got through to a representative. I explained my situation. His response was that they were unable to recover me off the aire and if I ring 211 a motorway recovery firm will take me off the autoroute then drive24-7 would come to me. My gripe is that I would have to pay to be taken off the autoroute before drive24-7 would deal with me. I had to ring the autoroute recovery then ring drive24-7 and try to explain where I was,I imagine near impossible with a phone with no signal. Would it not be easier alround if the autoroute recovery charge was built into policy and one phone call to drive24-7 could set wheels in motion relieving the stree and worry off their customers in difficult situations.

“Not sure, should I breakdown, I will be assisted!”

★★☆☆☆

written by Stacy448 on 29/08/2016

Although I have paid to be assisted should I breakdown, am not sure I will be assisted as having with a cost lower than other recovery services, this may be a purchase too good to be true. Hopefully, I will not breakdown, therefore may consider changing to an organisation such as RAC, AA or Greenflag.

Can anybody tell me where to find contact numbers for either Drive 24/7 or emergency assist? I'm in the same situation as a lot if other people by the looks of it, paid my money in September then got told they would refund me as there is a dispute between the two companies. No refund and no breakdown cover!

Hi, they seem to do most stuff by email. I have cover with them. You could try that and they may be able to direct you to the right person

The supplier Emergency Assist Ltd should have sent you a letter giving you insight into what exactly has happened. It would also have the name of the owner/direct of Drive 24-7, along with his email and phone number. I have tried contacting him dozens and dozens of times but you will not get through. He ignores his emails and is mailbox is full. I have now opened up a claims and dispute for my refund with my bank who are more than happy to help. I would give this a try.

I was with these up until October of this year 2017, purely an on line business (to keep costs down) I emailed them with a couple of questions regarding the increase in price when I had already had a cheaper renewal price from them, I didnt get a proper answer other than the price increase was necessary, I didnt renew as a matter of principle because I was promised the cheaper renewal by email from them, I went elsewhere and got the same cover slightly cheaper. They do take a long time to answer mails but once you are with them its ALL done on line including managing your account and documents, my account is still open Ive just accessed it so I would assume they are still in business, they are pretty cheap, I waited around 30 mins when I last used them about 11 months ago, although I can vouch that you can get the same cover elsewhere if you shop around!!! but on another note 24/7 is easy to manage on line!!

No the cost is covered by your initial payment. Just need to sign to say work completed that's all. They will come to you. Find out the problem do thework to repair it if possible and its done. I used to think that you had to pay the top three prices to get good eefficient servicei.e. the AA or RAC as I did once use. But its not true 24/7 give a good service for a more reasonable price.

You wont pay at the time, only if they have to put in a new part. If they get you going from Breakdown. Battery fault. Flat tyre etc. But parts are extra. They all charge this Other Companies. Hope this helps. This is still by far the best Breakdown srevice. Always read the small print and it will tell you what is free etc Tow to Garage is free if they cant get you going at the roadside. Then if garage have to put new part in etc then you will pay for that. Hope this helps
Report this content Guardsman23865959 Written on: 27/03/2017
There is no charge for a call out or even a Tow to garage if it cant be fixed on the road. So if you have a flat battery. blowout and as long as you have a spare in good repair you will pay nothing. But if parts are needed ie Bulbs, etc You will be charged. So first one hours labour is free. Please read your Small print and all is explained. With the New 2017 service you can make many call outs without extra charge, Apart from parts again Hope this helps then please ask Ps Make sure you write details of your car make etc and above all have the number of Breakdown tel number on a piece of paper in your glove box With you breakdown members number. But dont worry you may never need them. Happy Motoring

I don't think that this is correct, but would advise that you check it out with 24/7. Especially not for someone who like yourself is disabled. I for one would not use a company who are not reliable at all times, from my point of view because of my job that involves me being out visiting people at night, and in all weather an seasons. If I had a breakdown etc, being that would be alone in my car, I wish for a company that would be able to promptly help me. Hope you can get a reassuring reply from 24/7, I feel sure that you will.

From what I read in my policy its 24 7 cover nothing about any extra charges or no call outs on weekend. I would make sure that if you ever required a call out that you inform them again at the time that your disabled. I know from BITTER experience even 2 of the other well known companies would NOT or could not transport a disabled customer in the recovery vehicle and recommended we used a taxi and tried to claim the fare back later.
Report this content Guardsman23865959 Written on: 27/03/2017
This is not true, You may find that being a weekend you may have to wait a bit longer ie Easter, Christmas Holidays, But thats to be expected With the new 2017 cover you are not resticted to how many call outs you have. Just make sure you have your details Membership number in your glove tray and all should be well. Hope this helps H

Basically, with this company, if there's any way that they can get out of helping you when you break down, they will. I bought their policy for a new (to me) car. I had to call them out 2 weeks later because of a flat battery. Their agent advised me that the problem was the battery, and advised me to get a new one, which I did. 2 weeks later, same problem - and when I called them I was told they wouldn't come out because it was the same problem. Even when I agreed to pay for them to come out, they initially said someone would be there in 45 minutes. After an hour I phoned them and they said it would be another 30 minutes. After another 45 minutes I phoned the RAC, who were there within 10 minutes, and I was happy to sign up with them, despite it costing me £70 more than it would have done if I'd chosen them in the first place. As hamyam21 says - stay clear of them.
