“I'm so upset”

Written on: 03/07/2014 by RossCoyle1950 (1 review written)

There I was ill at the Hospital tonight with only a flat battery and they wouldn't come out because in the Winter they came out when my battery got wet, so as far as they are concerned I hadn't had the battery repaired!!! Load of rubbish it had just got flat from doing short trips for 2 months. Not what I call Roadside recovery. All it took was 20 seconds of a jump start, NEVER NEVER GO WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE ROGUES AND TREAT PEOPLE LIKE CRIMINALS… Read Full Review

“What a shower.........”

Written on: 12/06/2014 by fireball_xl5 (1 review written)

I took out a policy with this shower (Drive 24-7) for my 19-year-old son and his first car, in November last year (2013). In December last year he called them out as his car wouldn't start. He subsequently received an email requesting proof of repair, which he duly sent to them. In May of this year, he placed a breakdown call to them as his car wouldn't start (but due to a different issue). He was informed by one of their operators that they would attend the breakdown only if he could… Read Full Review

Written on: 10/06/2014 by Thedove15 (1 review written)

No recovery after 2 1/2 hrs, breakdown vehicle was 120 miles away.I was not contacted during this time, all calls were by me at my cost. I am a 78yrs old diabetic, I had no medication and the temperature was down to 7Deg ( explained to the breakdown people. They could`nt promise recovery within 1hr, so I arranged recovery at my cost. My complaint has not been dealt with 2 months later despite numerous calls. I will not recommend this company to my worst enemy !… Read Full Review

“What a joke”

Written on: 28/05/2014 by nelly37 (1 review written)

This so called breakdown assist company is an absolute joke. DO NOT PART WITH YOUR MONEY ON THESE CLOWNS. They left my wife on the side of the motorway with my two children without any assistance as in the wording of the policy "the car was still drivable" even though the offside wheel was rubbing against chassis. Go with a proper set up like AA or RAC. … Read Full Review

“Great Service ”

Written on: 06/03/2014 by Byrond372 (1 review written)

I changed to Drive 24-7 after reading their web site. Did not get off to a good start but things were eventually sorted. Mr Allen and the staff at Drive 24-7 could not have been anymore pleasant and helpful to my needs.. my car had to be towed to the garage but the company they use Swift Recovery were too great even letting me go to my GP appointment before sending the recovery vehicle. Would recommend to anyone whpo like responses quick and dealt with by a person not a robot. Cheer Guys… Read Full Review

“REVIEW before RENEW”

Written on: 18/02/2014

It's funny how most of the best reviews start in 2010 and nearly drop to ONE STAR in 2014. No one knows what any Breakdown Recovery Service is really like until they are called upon in the event of a breakdown. Whichever breakdown service that attends to your vehicle, (if you are one of the LUCKY ones to attend to you) the breakdown fitter should at least have the following BASIC equipment on board: Jump Leads Jack Axle stands Wheel brace Emergency fan belt Tyre Inflator Volt meter… Read Full Review

“Avoid, avoid, avoid”

Written on: 04/02/2014

I bought breakdown cover for my wife's car from this crowd a year or so ago. She's only had call to ring them twice....the first time, her drivers door wouldn't shut. They refused to attend- told her to read the small print. The second time, her turbo had blown (confirmed at the time my my local mechanic- who told her not to drive it) and the car was un-drivable. When she rang them to request request recovery (only 5 miles from home), she explained that the turbo had blown and she's been told… Read Full Review

“AVOID!! Can't even provide a simple jump start!”

Written on: 24/01/2014

PLEASE DO NOT JOIN AS YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY! AWFUL AND UNRELIABLE SERVICE!! I joined Drive 24/7 in October 13. My car didn't start on 20/12/13; I called the service centre and asked for a homestart assistance mentioning that the fault could be as simple as a flat battery. A "mechanic" was sent over; we asked him to provide a simple jump start. He REFUSED to do so! He insisted that he was unable to repair the fault and offered recovery to the nearest garage. We tried to convience him… Read Full Review

“Third degree when calling Drive 24/7”

Written on: 17/01/2014 by marymhatch (1 review written)

Following the appalling service my wife received when she tried to call Drive 24/7 after hitting a kerb resulting in a flat tyre, I would not recommend this company. They demanded that she answer numerous questions she wouldn't know the answer to -like what type of tyre, engine and a host of others etc. They also wanted to know how the tyre became flat! They then demanded that my wife give them a credit card number as they might have to charge us if they couldn't change the tyre!!! - AND… Read Full Review

“BEWARE”

I paid for immediate cover for the year, then unfortunately broke down on the M1. All of drive 24 telephone systems were down for over 6 hours with no way of contacting them about anything let alone recovery! I had to wait for 5 long hours stood up on the bank of the M1 with the motoway police coming by @ intervals to check on my situations, & if there was any news of my 'recovery firm' DRIVE24 coming to recover myself & my vehicle. In the meantime my wife was constantly trying @ home to… Read Full Review

“horrendous experience”

Written on: 20/10/2013 by nicky_whitley (1 review written)

we had the European breakdown which did not cover us at all. We broke down in Europe to be told that our policy was invalid. After walking a couple of miles to find a wifi signal to discover we were - we had been told we needed to inform them we were out of the country! Even when this was cleared up we were left stranded for over 27 hrs before deciding to make our own way home and recover the vehicle at a later date having arranged for it to be fixed ourselves. I have tried to claim the money… Read Full Review

“Just £39.99 and you get the lot”

I was recommended to check this company before purchasing my breakdown cover and I'm glad I did. Roadside Home-start & National Recovery as well as car hire/hotel accommodation all in for £39.99. I couldn't find any other company that came near them. I broke down recently and they responded within 45 minutes during rush hour, brilliant!… Read Full Review

“Terrable service national recovery means local only!!!!”

Written on: 14/10/2013 by rickyaburns (1 review written)

bought this breakdown cover as i am disabled and I was going down south 335 miles to my daughters for a weekend visit. when I was leaving for home the car would not start so I called company and they sent out a guy to start it but with no luck. I asked for my car to be recovered to my home address under the national recovery option but they said I could only be taking to a local garage, seems the other two options of to my final destination or my home address were going to cost to much so I am… Read Full Review

Rocketron22's Response to rickyaburns's Review

Written on: 15/10/2013

Cost of annual cover £39.99 includes roadside, home start & national recovery and up to x6 breakdowns per year. Consumers who tick the box saying they have read the suppliers terms & conditions would not complain if this were the case. If your car breaks down and it can't be repaired at the roadside either temporarily or fully but if it can be repaired and a garage which is within a few miles of the breakdown incident then its obvious the car needs to be towed to that garage for repair. No breakdown company will ignore this option before towing the car and its passengers over 300 miles across the country. Complaints like this should be ignored.

Rickyaburns's reply to Rocketron22's Comment

Written on: 16/10/2013

In this case I had read the conditions and their were 3 options in the national recovery to be agreed between myself and drive24-7. take to local garage, take to home address and forward journey. as I was 335 miles from home the local garage option was no good as I had to be home for an injection at hospital and I was low on my meds for my illness. I am disabled with low income so I asked for car to be moved to my home or a garage close to my home, drive 24-7 said only option I was being offered was local garage because it was going to cost to much to take my car home and that's that plus I would have to pay for hire car and try and claim that back at a later date. so to recap they moved my car to local garage who could not repair it and I had to pay costs for that and I had to get train back to my home costing me another £137 and my car is still 335 miles away. so their national recovery option is really only their roadside recovery.

“DO NOT BOTHER!”

Written on: 17/09/2013

I bought 'DRIVE 24/7' breakdown cover for my daughter before she went back to University. She needed to call them out this evening with a flat battery (she thinks she may have left the lights on but not sure). The man in the call centre was unhelpful and rude and refused to send a mechanic as the flat battery was her fault! This is a lone female in a strange city in the night with it pouring down. After 4 hours he eventually agreed to send a mechanic but said there would be a charge. I have… Read Full Review

“Drive 24/7 Breakdown Cover”

Written on: 30/08/2013

I do wonder about some of these reviews on this site as some of the situations are not covered by Drive 24/7 Breakdown Cover. Things not covered such as • Running out of fuel, wrong fuel in vehicle, loss of keys, broken glass. • Keys locked in vehicle, damaged keys, key fob faults. Some reviews here say how wonderful Drive 24/7 had been covering such situation as outlined above?  Anyway, used them for the first time the other. Flat battery. Service was Ok although waited over an… Read Full Review

“Fantastic, im on my way!”

Written on: 29/07/2013 by Cochese (1 review written)

I took out my policy with drive 24-7 about 3 months ago and I have been traveling between the UK and Europe a lot. My car broke down just near dover and called up Drive 24-7. Their staff are super friendly and sympathetic and the break down truck arrived in just under 30 minutes. As the car could not be fixed at the roadside they took me to my destination which was Birmingham at the time. Its a great value package and I highly recommend it to anyone! much cheaper than the AA or RAC and you get… Read Full Review
