I changed to Drive 24-7 after reading their web site. Did not get off to a good start but things were eventually sorted. Mr Allen and the staff at Drive 24-7 could not have been anymore pleasant and helpful to my needs.. my car had to be towed to the garage but the company they use Swift Recovery were too great even letting me go to my GP appointment before sending the recovery vehicle. It's funny how most of the best reviews start in 2010 and nearly drop to ONE STAR in 2014. No one knows what any Breakdown Recovery Service is really like until they are called upon in the event of a breakdown. I bought breakdown cover for my wife's car from this crowd a year or so ago. She's only had call to ring them twice....the first time, her drivers door wouldn't shut. They refused to attend- told her to read the small print. The second time, her turbo had blown (confirmed at the time my my local mechanic- who told her not to drive it) and the car was un-drivable. PLEASE DO NOT JOIN AS YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY! AWFUL AND UNRELIABLE SERVICE!! I joined Drive 24/7 in October 13. My car didn't start on 20/12/13; I called the service centre and asked for a homestart assistance mentioning that the fault could be as simple as a flat battery. Following the appalling service my wife received when she tried to call Drive 24/7 after hitting a kerb resulting in a flat tyre, I would not recommend this company. They demanded that she answer numerous questions she wouldn't know the answer to -like what type of tyre, engine and a host of others etc. They also wanted to know how the tyre became flat! I paid for immediate cover for the year, then unfortunately broke down on the M1. All of drive 24 telephone systems were down for over 6 hours with no way of contacting them about anything let alone recovery! I had to wait for 5 long hours stood up on the bank of the M1 with the motoway police coming by @ intervals to check on my situations, & if there was any news of my 'recovery firm' DRIVE24 coming to recover myself & my vehicle. we had the European breakdown which did not cover us at all. We broke down in Europe to be told that our policy was invalid. After walking a couple of miles to find a wifi signal to discover we were - we had been told we needed to inform them we were out of the country! Even when this was cleared up we were left stranded for over 27 hrs before deciding to make our own way home and recover the vehicle at a later date having arranged for it to be fixed ourselves. I was recommended to check this company before purchasing my breakdown cover and I'm glad I did. Roadside Home-start & National Recovery as well as car hire/hotel accommodation all in for £39.99. I couldn't find any other company that came near them. I broke down recently and they responded within 45 minutes during rush hour, brilliant! (read more)

bought this breakdown cover as i am disabled and I was going down south 335 miles to my daughters for a weekend visit. when I was leaving for home the car would not start so I called company and they sent out a guy to start it but with no luck. I bought 'DRIVE 24/7' breakdown cover for my daughter before she went back to University. She needed to call them out this evening with a flat battery (she thinks she may have left the lights on but not sure). The man in the call centre was unhelpful and rude and refused to send a mechanic as the flat battery was her fault! This is a lone female in a strange city in the night with it pouring down. I do wonder about some of these reviews on this site as some of the situations are not covered by Drive 24/7 Breakdown Cover. Things not covered such as • Running out of fuel, wrong fuel in vehicle, loss of keys, broken glass. • Keys locked in vehicle, damaged keys, key fob faults. I took out my policy with drive 24-7 about 3 months ago and I have been traveling between the UK and Europe a lot. My car broke down just near dover and called up Drive 24-7. Their staff are super friendly and sympathetic and the break down truck arrived in just under 30 minutes. As the car could not be fixed at the roadside they took me to my destination which was Birmingham at the time. I bought a policy from Drive24-7 about a month ago. Previously I'd been with the RAC, and been very happy, but money is tight at present, and the advertised service seemed good, with an average call-out time of 37 minutes. We purchased the Drive 24-7 Breakdown as we too wererecommended to purchase from this company. We unfortunately broke down recently on the way to the airport and we called drive 24-7 breakdown centre who were very helpful and they arranged for their repairers to come out to us , they arrived in less than 30 minutes. I thought that as this company was so competitive that the service may suffer, well I was totally wrong. Right from purchasing my policy on line which I have to say was very easy through to the recovery of my vehicle, everything was first class. I can also alter all of my policy details online through MYDRIVE this avoids me having to call a centre, brilliant! Great price, great service. (read more)

Was a bit sceptical at first when purchasing this product as its so cheap for what you get however I shouldn't have been! From making the call after I had broke down, they were with me in just under 30 minutes, a massive improvement from my previous cover! (read more)

I registered with 24/7 in Jan 2010 and have just looked to see the policy has expired! No contact from them (suggests to me they're no interested) particularly in view of other comments on here. I did use them twice in the year but I'm glad I spotted the policy has lapsed. Time for a different (hopefully better) company methinks (read more)

I joined Drive 24/7 last year, the premium was good. I had previously been with one of the main rescue companies who had left me stranded for over 3 hours and decided to go for a different company when renewal was due. I called out Drive 24-7 when I locked my keys in my car the morning after my friend's wedding. The breakdown man arrived in an AA van and was with me within 45mins. Whilst waiting I received text updates to update me on the progress. The breakdown man was courteous and explained what he would be doing and said that he may have to damage my lock to break in but would let me know before he did so. I bought this policy in Jan 10, i had to use it today (Christmas Eve), my car is 13yrs old and has NEVER been a problem, in this case the battery had completely died,the AA were at my house within 20mins and within the hour had changed my battery for me. I purchased my cover through drive 24-7 as it was cheap. I was nervous about the service I would recieve, but bought it for peace of mind more than anything. Today I needed them as I was stranded in freezing cold wet weather quite a distance from home. Broke down on holiday in cornwall, phoned drive 24-7 aa came out within an hour towed our vehicle home and supplied us with another vehicle to continue our journey, absolutly fantastic service, a little slow to answer the phone took maybe twenty mins to answer call. After a rather embarassing incident tonight where my husband put petrol in my diesel car, I used 24-7 for the first time.
I was so impressed.
My call was answered immediately by a polite and professional courteous person.
We had a AA van with us within 45 mins who towed us to the garage of our choice.
I cannot say how impressed I was in the speed of the service for the cost of the policy! (read more)

I took out breakdown cover with Drive 24-7 two years ago. I have used them on 3 occassions. A couple of times was due to a flat battery. The local recovery company was out within the hour to help. The third time was when we found our car had been driven into by another car when it was parked in a car park, we called 24-7 immediately and considering that it was quite late at night, the recovery vehicle was with us in 40 minutes. I was a bit sceptical at first as the difference between the AA and 24/7 was a lot. A few weeks after joining I had to use the service and had no probs at all. So my experience is positive. I joined this company on the 6th Feb 2010 and gave back word,by e.mail, on the 8th Feb 2010.
When you join it say's you have a 14 day cooling off period in which to cancel but a £15 administration fee would be taken out,as you can see by the above dates I DID.
They took the £45 out of my account on the 9th Feb 2010.

I joined this 24/7 breakdown service in January. On 2nd March I hit a pothole which destroyed both the tyre and alloy and as Im disabled and had children in the car on a dangerous country road, I called them as an emergency to come out.
After 45 mins on my mobile phone they still hadnt answered.
Then they cut me off.
I had to pay to get out the RAC,- after help from the police.
When I returned home I tried 3 more times calling 24/7 each time for between 45min and 1hour to get hold of them.... (read more)

Joined Drive 24/7 on 6th Jan 2010. The cost for our 2 vehicles was £62.00 for full UK cover.
We had a breakdown in the Kia Sedona and after calling them the AA arrived within 40 minutes. The car could not be repaired at the roadside and because its an automatic it needed a flatbed recovery vehicle. It arrived as agreed and back home we went.
Full marks to Drive 24/7.
We have reccommended this to my daughter and a friend at work who have now joined. (read more)

I had a two year policy but when I tried to get hold of Drive247 to change details last year the telephone number was unobtainable for quite a few days before I gave up and applied to ASDA breakdown cover policy...... Therefore Drtive247 not very good if you breakdown and I can't recommend them to anyone. (read more)

I was shopping around to renew my Motor Breakdown cover from RAC and log into various comparison websites. Finally decided to buy it from Drive24-7 through the comparison site , Gocompare.com , £29.95 incl HomeStart as compare to the big boys like RAC; AA & GreenFlag who are charging more than £70 plus ! In fact, if you incl European cover , Drive 24-7 only charge £49.95 !
Not sure how Drive24-7 did it and yet provide a very user friendly web site and more importantly excellent service.... (read more)

Absolute rubbish, I tried for 3 days to get breakdown assistance and it is either putting me on hold for an hours until i got fed up and put the phone down or just simply a message asking me to leave a phone number and they will get back to me, obvioulsy they never did.
good job my car brokedown outside my house, just imagine if your car is broken down in the middle of nowhere, you will turn to a snowman before they even answer you phone. (read more)
