Use this product because of slight damage due to colouring. Has not helped this issue. It however dry my scalp and cause it to be flaky. I would not recommend this product. For the price and for the value of your hair, go to the salon and get something that really works. (read more)

I disagree with this review because... I have personally used this product and I fail to see HOW this product could cause flaking. It sounds more like a 'Professional Products user'type rant.

Pantene Breakage Defense Shampoo is one of the best shampoos available at the drugstore or the beauty supply. It is one of the few hair care products out there that doesn't contain silicone, and still makes the hair shiny, smooth and glossy. I don't like silicone because they give me (and other people) scalp eruptions (pimples), and they only coat the hair temporarily. As soon as you quit using them, the effect washes away, leaving your hair as bad (if not worse) as it was before.

Pantene Breakage Defense Shampoo is one of the few really good shampoos, as most of the products today use silicone or one of its compounds to give that "silky smooth feel" by coating the hair. But, this is only a "cosmetic" effect; washed away after you stop using the product. With breakage defense, it actually improves the hair for a benefit that lasts, even if you quit using it.
