    Good Points: A neutral and detailed quality sound.


    Bad Points: A slight lack of musical drama


    General comments: I bought this to upgrade my beloved Micromega Junior CD player. I like the sound, it's a neutral, detailed and well balanced, natural presentation. I listen to dance music, electronica, folkmusic, classical and world music. It suits most types of music well, but it might be a touch too well mannered for rock'n roll. Bass is deep and well controlled. Midrange beautiful and treble is sweet and airy. Soundstage is good.

    I like the design. It's small and looks like a turtle shell, or an UFO.

    I use mine with Alchemist Axiom amp and ALR-Jordan Entry 2M standmounts.

    Bought this Alchemist TS D1 DAC to upgrade sound on my Micromega Stage 5. It made a lot of difference to my cd player improving all aspects of sound quality.
