I bought the 177 version of the Cometta air rifle with a Hawke 4 x 40 scope and crossman accupel ammo it is accurate and will knock an adult rabbit down at 50 yards with a headshot. The shop I bought it at zeroed the sights on the bench and I fine tuned it at home. Penetration is great and accuracy. It is best to rest against a tree to enable a good shot as you can get the wobbles free standing. It is a fine piece of kit. I have loaned it to a friend to eradicate rabbits... (read more)

Great rifle, looks good, powerful and accurate. Before owning this i had a series of Gamo rifles, i prefer this by far but i think the iron sights could be made better. Has the power to take out any small animal at 30-50 yards, if it's just for shooting in the garden or small area then i think it's much to powerful, goes straight through fences, 2" thick wood boards and currently quickly wearing away a thick block of concrete. The grouping on this rifle is good and never miss fires. It works... (read more)

i have a cometa 300 nickel and have had no problems with it at all, confirmed rabbit kill on my first day out with bulldog pellets, how ever i am havin trouble with accuracy due to the heavy weight of my silencer. can anyone reccomend a decent silencer and pellet for pest controll??????
overall the rifle is great for a break barrell and smashes glass easily so alot of power. i paid £100 for the rifle, smk scope and silencer which was a steal, my advice is dont get a smk silencer for any...

I bought a Cometa 300 in 177, I am getting one inch groups at 30 yards with rws super domes. Very light to hold and light trigger, must be the best gun I have ever bought. I can not say anything bad about it, wish I had got one years ago. Paid £160 for it. Top rifle. (read more)

I live in a house with 1 acre of land and the vermin and pests to go with it (rabbits, pidgeons, crows etc etc)
so i shopped around for a 22. air rifle and i setteld on the chinese SMK 19 as this was the only rifle my local gun shop had in stock, then on the day i went to purchase the SMK the gentlemen recommended that i get a Cometa 300 instead so i waited an extra day and went down to the shop to pick it up.
i paid £150 second hand and i got a 4x32 scope, a tin of pellets and a trigger...

Would really recommend this Cometa 300 rifle to anyone i have never had any faults with it and it kills first hit every time mine is reading 11.9ft/lbs after 6 years of use and i have put well over 2000 pellets through it. if you want a good gun and you are willing to pay for it then the cometa 300 is a good choice (read more)

Cometa 300 is overall a very hardy & reliable & fun gun. Delivers quite a punch downrange over 35 yards. Very very effective in the .177 caliber. Came with a nice gloss wood finish as well. Not the ideal gun for a beginner, but still doesn't beat you after prolonged use over the course of a day. A very very good field gun in my view. (read more)

All in all, Cometa 300 is a good value for money package. Very accurate & delivers good punch downrange. I have had no problems bringing down feral pigeons at over 35 yards (a major pest for poultry farms). Not the best rifle for a beginner due to the weight & power, but a very reliable rifle for an intermediate shooter. (read more)

The Cometa 300 is a brilliant gun for beginners, my first gun had for 2 years now and still as powerful.
Seems to have a lot of recoil and accuracy isnt consistent.
Robust, light to carry a while, great realtree stock and the sights are brilliant. Very powerfil! Great value for money rather than a cheaper make like smk for example

I have had mine a few years and havent noticed any loss in power its a robust piece of kit that thats proved reliable in the field id recommend it to anyone who wants it as a working tool that dosent mind a bit of punishment. Build quality its tough basic no frills with great open sights and is accurate and powerful for hunting. I do think that the Cometa 200 air rifle is a bit weighty for long forays (read more)

I got my Cometa 300 .177 about 4 days a go and I'm so glad i bought this rifle instead of a cheapo SMK supergrade series. Mine came with a tin of AGS pellets, a padded gun slip, 20 targets and the gun boxed + brand new for £140.
When i got home after fiddling around with the fibre optic sights for about 30 mins, the accuracy is amazing apart from getting used to the recoil which isn't really that bad, my garden is only about 15 yards but i have no problem hitting milk carton tops at this...

I cannot fault my purchase. It is such good value for money! You get a quality, hard hitting, accurate rifle, that cost as much as a hand held games console. Sure there's no fancy stock artwork, but who cares! If you want a tool to do the job, this is it. This gun should be £219 not £119!
The accuracy is spot on, aim it, shoot it, see the results for yourself. The gun is a little weighty, but then I've always had heavy guns, I'd be sceptical if it wasn't. The build quality is spot on too,...

I agree with this review because... i own one and to be honest this chap speaks the truth i cannot fault it, even after 6 years of useage and 2000 plus shots through it as it still clocks 11.9 Ft/Lbs

I agree with this review because... i own one myself and i found that the accuracy is great even at long distances and for a gun of this caliber you would expect to pay a fortune but i kid you not this gun is the cheapest one you will find with this much power and accuracy
