“Disgusting Company - AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

This company is a total waste of space. Whilst technically the alarms are good, don't expect any help or support when needed. Despite having an expensive monthly contract in place, they will attempt to charge you for callouts, citing any excuse possible to charge. It gets worse; you pay for 2 services a year which they used to visit and check everything by hand. “APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE”

Forced into using them as old alarm company was taken over by them. Service was due in November whilst on holiday. phoned in December when we came home to be told I couldn't have an appointment until end of January but someone would phone me back in 24 hours! 2 weeks later I phoned again to say noone had phoned, appointment now offered for middle of Feb, but will phone me back. “Avoid at all costs”

Appalling after sales and fault reporting. 10-20 calls a day to me and my contacts due to faults. I had to panic and drive home. Also, my emergency contacts do t want to be on the list due to harassment. Can't send anyone to fix faults outside of standard times so can't have this option and only one is to terminate and they billed me 2 years in full!! Not even a penny discount for months of no alarm. “invoiced for service which wasn't done”

I have been cut off again today during my 5th phone calls in 4 weeks to book a service which I was invoiced for 7 weeks ago. The insisted It had been done remotely and I was due the payment after a long conversation ADT arguing that the work was done remotely I asked how this was possible when there is no phone line or wifi.... Our landlord sold the unit we were renting and the alarm system in the unit was with adt. This was already installed when we took over renting the unit. Told adt about the landlord selling the unit and that it was no fault of our own and was told there was a £1,000.00 cancellation charge. Our ADT alarm was installed in early 2014, since installation it has constantly set off false alarms, numerous engineer visits later ADT acknowledge the alarm was installed incorrectly. We have been with them for 2.5 years with an alarm that never worked, and that their engineers couldn't isolate why it wasn't working. “moving monitoring to ADT as a New customer ”

I tried to change our monitoring company to ADT the cost and services looked excellent they even gave me a 6 month half price discount for swapping to them. However the swap never actually happened as they needed to do a site survey before activation. I had been with ADT for several years without issue. One day I decided to buy a new front door. When the fitters arrived they obviously had to detach the ADT sensor. I called ADT and informed them that I was removing the sensor and would need it to be be fitted to the new door. They said they would send someone round (no mention of cost). I had the same experience but argued that, as I had already called the engineer under the maintenace contract to repair (yet) another problem, I should only pay for the sensor and the 3 minutes of labour it took to fit it. ADT charged over £60 for the simple sensor, which you could buy online for a few pounds. Apart from their pleasant long-suffering engineers, I have nothing good to say about this company. I'm terminating my contract after 8 years of perseverance.

Oh so very very true. Just had a similar experience with smoke alarm being unscrewed from ceiling. Circa £150 to 'reactivate' it. Scandalous

“Good Service and System Does What It Says”

I've been with ADT 18 months and I am satisfied with the alarm system. I have been alerted a couple of times, my dog was probably the cause due to a sensor being too low down - an engineer has since raised it up higher. I was billed for this but on querying the amount, the accounts team waved the fee, because it was necessary work and it was done when the engineer came to fit a battery which had come to the end of its life. “the worst!!! Avoid at all costs”

ADT are the absolute worst. We have a key fob alarm system which regularly break so we have to replace. They always need to send an engineer to fix and every time I have waited for days for an engineer. They can't give you a time so you just sit in your house waiting, and waiting and waiting. “The Worst company I have ever come across”

The worst company I have ever come across. I wish I had not listened to them. They tell one lie after the other. Keep send you the wrong invoices and when you call them and they say they will put the invoices in dispute and it never happens. After that they start chasing for the money. I would never ever be a customer but the only reason we have any is the hard work done by us engineers. I LIVE 250 MILES AWAY FROM MY 94 YR. OLD FATHER WHO IS PARTIALLY SIGHTED AND DEAF. THEREFORE I WANTED ALL HIS FUTURE PAPERWORK SENT TO ME. This company has been charging my 87 year old mother £200 per year for the "rental and maintenance for alarm fitted and purchased out right in 1983! it is unfit for purpose ( doesn't work) obsolete and they have not serviced it for 3 years.
My mother died in September and although I have cancelled the contract and pointed out the misrepresentation on the invoices, I am still receiving them!

I am sending all documentation to the Trading Standards.
