I called ADT around February as we moved house and I wanted something for piece of mind. Went for the basic 2 sensor model plus door sensor. I also wanted an extra sensor for my landing upstairs. The sales man said it would not be necessary, but I incusted. Installation all went fine and worked well until August. “Good product, but dreadful after sales service”

We moved into an beautiful office space where the previous tenant had an ADT alarm installed. Re-activating the account was easy, however when we needed the system reset it took over 4 days for them to reply to numerous phone messages. We tried calling a number of ADT people, the main customer number, the people involved in setting up the alarm contract. “Overpriced and Arrogant!”

ADT is a radio monitored system so if you live in an area with poor reception, think about that! I recently had a new front door installed and so had to ask ADT to refit the magnetic door contacts which had been taken off. Had an ADT sales man knock at my door very interested, so went ahead with the paper work booked the day for them to put the alarm in, starting looking at review got abit worry so call ADT 1st lady I talked to could not answer the simplest question about ADT so put me to someone else 2nd member of staff same, could not answer, 3rd member of staff. “Take your money and run”

Having paid for the set-up of the service, paid for the monthly bills for over 8 months, my system STILL isn't working. having been promised a full refund - nothing. have installed both a GSM unit and a phone line at extra expense - its still not working. They have sent a number of engineers around all contrradicting each others advice. The only thing they were good at was signing me up and pormising me exemplary service. They made an appointment to fux a problem on my alarm that I wasn't aware of. They made me stay up till gone 3am because they were on there way! Eventually I told them to forget it. Also at beginning of contract I wasn't made aware of the fact that if I moved, I couldn't take system and contract with me, so it cost me hundreds of pounds when I moved house. “Worst company for service”

Had an 'on-site-survey". Pointless. Sales/ Area Manager agreed location of control panel, in a stairs cupboard. Then they came to install said can't do as no power. Guy went away. I got power put into the location. New guy came, said cupboard not good as it muffles the sound! Installed. Set up all working. Set it off once accidentally. “Rubbish service avoid”

ADT seem keen to take a hefty monthly fee but when it comes to service they are appalling. We have had signal issue outstanding for 3 weeks and sill not resolved. Customer service seem to lie and tell you different answers. Sometimes their engineers only work until 5pm other times they work 24 hours. Engineers on call due to visit do not provide updates and take calls out of their name without informing you while you sit at home waiting. Please avoid ADT. “Avoid ADT - a shambles”

Here are the problems I have had: Locked in to long contracts Charge for visits to fix system - even though maintenance is included in the monthly fee. Only premium cost help line provided on letterheads and website. Long wait on premium cost helpline. Only provided with 4 hour window for service appointments - promise to ring up to be more precise but fail to do so. “Poor installation and terrible customer service thereafter”

We had a ADT wireless alarm system installed in our home. The installation engineer struggled to get a mobile signal. We understand the system connects with ADT and intrusion and fire alarm alerts are sent by the mobile GPRS network. They also receive test signals to show if the system is working on a daily basis. “Terrible Customer Service”

I got installed an ADT alarm system for my house. It has been working pretty well so far but I have twice had a problem with my alarm and it takes on average 20 to 30 mins of listening to their 'Classical' music till you get to a customer service representative who can help you out. A customer should not be made to wait for them like a slave when the customer is the one actually paying the money!!!! Very Poor !!… Read Full Review

“Beginning to worry about professionalism”

We inherited an ADT system when we bought our house. We decided it made sense to take over the contract as the system was already in place and had been upgraded fairly recently. I called ADT to enquire about possible packages and was promptly put in contact with a salesperson. I had switched to different phone provider as a result my phone line moved position . Didn't realised that my phone is not connected to alarm. After few months when I couldn't reset my alarm I was told that they haven't been receiving any signal from here for which they didn't inform me while I have been paying monthly maintainence charges.
