“the worst!!! Avoid at all costs”

ADT are the absolute worst. We have a key fob alarm system which regularly break so we have to replace. They always need to send an engineer to fix and every time I have waited for days for an engineer. They can't give you a time so you just sit in your house waiting, and waiting and waiting. “The Worst company I have ever come across”

The worst company I have ever come across. I wish I had not listened to them. They tell one lie after the other. Keep send you the wrong invoices and when you call them and they say they will put the invoices in dispute and it never happens. After that they start chasing for the money. I hate working at this place as do most of my fellow engineers. The place is being driven into the ground by the manager and her weak indecisive ideas. I would never ever be a customer but the only reason we have any is the hard work done by us engineers. my alarm system was installed by another company of which i had no problems with till A D T took them over not liveing in the house where the alarm is fitted but still have it serviced every year the house is rented out and has been for 9 years and the tennants have agreed to pay for service i now find that i am reciveing bill for the service this has never happend before have sent e mails to them takes them that long to reply sure the camel could deliver it quicker if i could get somebody… Read Full Review

We had a lovely ADT security consultant visit us so enthusiastically with so many follow up calls to soft sell us the system. He even knocked our door without an invitation to find out our decision. it worked!! suckered in we bought into it, binded contractual and all which coincidentally was not the same information as we had been told by the security consultant (I really wish that I could name and shame him). “ANNUAL SERVICE CONTRACT”

I LIVE 250 MILES AWAY FROM MY 94 YR. OLD FATHER WHO IS PARTIALLY SIGHTED AND DEAF. THEREFORE I WANTED ALL HIS FUTURE PAPERWORK SENT TO ME. This company has been charging my 87 year old mother £200 per year for the "rental and maintenance for alarm fitted and purchased out right in 1983! it is unfit for purpose ( doesn't work) obsolete and they have not serviced it for 3 years.
My mother died in September and although I have cancelled the contract and pointed out the misrepresentation on the invoices, I am still receiving them!

I am sending all documentation to the Trading Standards.

Absolute shambles of a company. Contacted the Manchester office and apparently spoke to a FLM?? who gave the impression he was not interested at all. Alarm went off 5am , called ADT engineer promised within 90 mins didn't appear. Called again engineer booked 9.30-10am didn't appear. Just about every interaction I have had with ADT since paying for my installation has been awful and I would recommend to anyone that they AVOID ADT! First I was misinformed about what the alarm service would cover and since then I have been lied to, consistently given inconsistent (and contrasting!) information. “Illegal Charges resulting in overdue balance”

I signed a contract with ADT in late 2009, meaning my contract was up in late 2014. Although I moved from my original address in 2013, I opted to continue to make the monthly payments versus terminating the contract and paying the lump sum. I did not continue the services at my new address as it was not allowed in the high rise in D.C. I contacted ADT to give them a new address and never received any statements at this address. “Missold Alarm”

A sales guy came round the door two years ago and sold us an alarm under the premise that we took out a monitored alarm for 2 years then after that the alarm is ours to keep and would still work as a static alarm! “Maintainance visit, hidden charges.”

Been with ADT for 20+ years. I pay an annual maintainance fee. Did a routine inspection early August 2015. Last one was February 13. Just received an invoice for £50 for a replacement battery which the engineer omitted to inform me about. He was here 10 mins. When I called ADT I was told the battery was not covered under the annual contract. Hi

Batteries are always chargeable, It is a consumable item. Just like your remote batteries, you would pay for them when and if they ran out.
And regards to not being told, You have signed a contract, You should try reading it, even the T & Cs which everyone blatantly clicks yes when they have not read it.

No Fault with the Company here Im afraid.
And to answer your final question. Can they do this? Yes they can

“Shambolic company ”

Stay away from this company. We are in disputed over an invoice which not only arrived 4 months later than the engineer visited but is priced at 499.20 for labour costs of a 45 minute visit. We are a business and had recently suffered a break in, the costs were for looking at our tagging system which we were told was un repairable. All the engineer did was test it and conclude it was knackered. This works out at over £10 per minute for a job which wasn't even repaired.i was never at any point… Read Full Review

“Beware of callout charges”

Alarm was dirt cheap but ongoing monthly costs are daylight robbery compared with other firms - £45 per month!!! Also I have been charged £184 for a call out lasting under 1 hour labour only. They also tried to charge me nearly £50 for a battery at the last service. The engineer advised me to buy a better battery myself and he would fit next time he was passing. I'll keep this short because i'm currently too angry to write the long version! We've had an ADT monitored system for 7 years. In that time, we have had 11 call outs for technical issues, i.e the system said there was a fault with the system. Those call outs are not straight forward. “Avoid this company ”

I have been a customer of ADT since 2007, I recently had a problem with my alarm system and call for an engineer who advised me that it was my battery and proceeded to replace. To my suprise he left me with a bill for £30 and said it should have been replaced when I had my annual service and laughed. I have never ever been charged for a battery when I called customer service they proceeded to tell me that it's tough deal with it and pay the £30 which is what it costs.
