i bought my harrier 48 in october 2006 just before the model change to it is fantastic it get used 6 days a week 7-8 hours a day no real major problems just expected wear and tear always picks up in really wet conditions and dry no mater what the length of grass also has plenty power when the leaves fall. would love to buy another one of these but my friend has 2 of the new models and he says the are a nightmare in any condition but the 2006 model is a rolls royce of the mower world wish the would change the new design back

I have a Hayter Harrier 56, I use it comercially 5/6hours a day 5 days a week for the last 4 years this machine is incredible, it starts, cuts wet does long grass, If my machine does not pick up I now the lugs have worn off the blade a new blade and shes away again, so all you having trouble with picking up check your blade, my front wheels have now worn through and think I might change her, I will let you know if I do and report on the new one.

The new 2008 harrier pro is an excellent machine. Hayter seem to have listened to the complaints about the grass bag not filling and have sorted the problem.
I had an old model that i used commercially for about 8 years and it proved very reliable. I don't know of any mower that does not struggle with long wet grass so if its like that then either wait till its dry or just get on with it!

Overall great machine. Never let me down. Starts first time every time. Reliable machine. I have had her for 9 years now and she still works and performs as your would expect from a commercial machine. Expensive to buy but worth the money. Heacy but solid. Cloggs up slightly when working with wet grass.

I am generally satisfied with my Hayter Harrier 48 but feel it was somewhat over priced. In my area difficult to get it serviced and its heavy to transport. Some rust on bar.
Plug hard to get at.

I bought my six year old Hayter Harrier 48 lawn mower early this year, and I use it commercially. So far it has been fantastic compared with the Atco Viscount I had before. Yes, it does block a bit if the grass is sodden, but they all do. It is very heavy, but this is because it's built to last. Unlike the Atco, it does keep driving the roller even when wet. I have heard the latest model is not as good, but having not used one I cannot comment.

The Hayter Harrier 48 is an excellent all-round machine that suits small - medium sized gardens perfectly. Extremely well-built with power drive and excellent safety features. Excellent grass collection except when grass is wet.
