I bought the Flymo hover compact 380 18 months ago. The drive belt has now snapped, and cannot now replace the £8 drivebelt due to the screws that release the cover to replace the belt are so rusty that it is impossible to get it off. So this now means instaed of replacing a drive belt for £8 I will have to buy a new lawnmower, and it will never ever again be a Flymo. they are designed to fail so you have to to buy a complete new one. this has been the worst lawnmower I have ever own ...

This Flymo 380 is awful. Fortunately i managed to get a refund from B&Q.It appears to be designed with all the features;roller, self storing cable, grass cutting compactor etc etc I'll bet the designers said to the sales dept that they can incorporate all the sales features they want. It is rubbish. I had an excellent Flymo for 12 years before this one and it was great. Don't buy a 380 or similar.

This is the absolute worst mower in the world. Since I bought a Flymo 18 months ago I have changed the blade twice! it bends after going over the smallest of stones. The final straw has been that after waiting three weeks for a replacement blade to when I finally could use it the motor has gone!

The Flymo Turbo Compact 380 is a total waste of money. No wonder a certain large DIY store had them on offer. The hover that doesn't.Grass everywhere.

I can only concur with most of the comments here. Bought aFlymo Turbo Compact 380 to replace a 330 some time ago, I absolutely hate the thing, and was searching for reviews on petrol models when I came here to see if my experiences were unique, which they clearly they are not. My grass is in much worse condition due to the poor cutting then when i started with it. I really regret buying this without seeking comparative reviews first, it was bought on a whim precisely because i wanted a bigger mo ...

The concept is sound; a large (for a hover mower) cutting radius with a reasonable grass cutting collection bin. Neat idea for cable storage, nice twin-handle for powering the thing up.
Unfortunately, the Flymo Turbo Compact 380 has been, so-far, the worst hover mower that I have owned/used. It lasted just two years coping with an average-sized lawn (70ft x 35ft). It always appeared to be much noisier than any other hover mower I had owned. Towards the end, it became very noisy indeed. The motor ...

Upper handle bolts were of the wrong type.
Fuse failed , for no apparent reason, after 15 minutes trial use
Machine does not seem to hover even on a perfectly flat surface, let alone on actual grass!!!

As I had the Flymo Turbo Compact 380 purchased for me from Argos UK and had a friend deliver it to me in Bulgaria I am not therefore in a position to return it as faulty. I am now stuck with an expensive mower that in my opinion is useless.

The Flymo Turbo Compact 380 is a bloody marvelous mower. Everyone should run out and buy one. Doesn't make any mess, is not heavy at all and the "easy reel" cable storage gadget is a well-thought-out dream to use.

I bought this to replace a Flymo 330 which had lasted quite well and did a reasonable job until the clutch started slipping. Decided to replace with this one as it has a bigger cutting blade and should have made light work of our large sloping lawn. Big Mistake!
On the first attempt I had to use a strimmer first to reduce the grass length before using the new mower as it simply could not cope. The grass collection pickup clogged immediately and it was a complete waste of time. The old mower had ...

My Flymo Turbo Compact 380 worked for three years, then the motor packed up, replacement motor very expensive. Air intakes to motor have to cleaned, otherwise motor overheats

Like another reviewer, I shall be taking this Flymo Turbo 380 back in the morning for a full refund. I bought it to replace my 'heavy' petrol mower. Thought I must have put it together wrongly, so re-read all assembly instructions. Hardly picked up any grass as it was too busy blowing it all over the rest of the lawn, decking, slide, etc. Was difficult to manoevre and cut was very poor - as if the blade was blunt really. Took me at least 3 times as longer to cut than my old faithful petrol ...

Strange really. I have always been a Flymo man but the Flymo Turbo Compact 380 is a bummer! Why have I changed? The build quality has gone down and down over the years and the concept of cord storage in the lid is a joke. It adds weight and gets bunged up with grass. It starts off OK but within minutes the underside is bunged up with damp grass and it no longer hovers; it drags. It then has a huge drap of compacted damp grass which has to be cleaned up. The Electrolux moter is good but as a lawn ...

This Flymo Turbo Compact 380 is probably the worst mower I have ever owned. It flattens the grass rather than cutting it and throws what grass it does cut everywhere. Mowing the lawn has become a nightmare as I have to keep going over and over the same bits and it still looks like I've cut it with a pair of blunt scissors! It can't seem to cope with my less than perfectly flat lawn and gets nowhere near corners, etc. It is very heavy and cumbersome to move about even empty. I would try sell ...

A total disappointment. My next mower will be a mechanical push along affair. Ideally British or German made. I will never buy another Flymo product. Over priced, over hyped rubbish.

This product does not fullfil its promise of being lightweight, add to its weight the few clippings that it does pick up & you have a difficult machine to use. To collect the clippings you really need to go back over areas that have been cut, to collect the cuttings a complete waste of time in my opinion. I would not reccomend this flymo to my worst enemies. I would not feel comfortable selling this to someone secondhand for fear of them coming back for a refund!

We got this Flymo lawn mower recently and it comes with a 'free' strimmer (i think i know why now!), compared to our old mower, it is worse. Assembly is reasonably easy from the box, with about 8 things to attach/ fit and bolt on.

On switching on the first thing you notice is that its like having a concrete brick inside it, its no joke trying to move this thing around. you may be OK if you have a perfectly flat lawn, but our sloped lawn with a few turf divets is too much for it, it seems to be ...

I inherited the Flymo Turbo Compact 380 lawn mower when I bought a house, and it's not suitable for a rented house where tenants never look after anything.

Well, the Flymo Turbo Compact lawn mower is a brilliant lawn mower mainly for large garden. It does an OK job on mine, and my garden is 76 foot x 35 foot, and most of it is grass for the time being. So, I would say it does a nice cut and leaves the grass looking fresh and tidy, but it's only little bits of grass that it doesn't pick up.
