The Samsung U600 is really not a bad phone overall. The design is sleek and sexy, and is a good size and weight. I have to be honest, I haven't had one technical problem with the U600 since I bought it a year ago (even after my son dropped it in the bath!).
My only flaw I think with this phone is the lack of options and features that gives it a little variety. Before the U600 I owned the D900 and between the two phones, there is very little difference in the features and modes etc. Both phones have the same awful black and orange menu screen (the white look is even worse), the same call tones, only a choice of 4 message tones and the same few default picture backgrounds.
Another annoying point is the response speed of some of the modes. Whe taking a picture and press the button, it takes too much time to actually capture the shot. Accessing the memory card is also a mini quest. Just trying to open a folder of images seems like a lifetime.
The major things that have made me keep the phone for so long (this is the longest amount of time I've owned a phone) is the beautiful design, light weight, great battery life and always a strong reception.

I love this Samsung U600 phone. Ive had it for a while now, but dropped it down the toilet today! Hopefully it will work ;( I love everything apart from camera as you have to hold a pose for ages before the phone takes the picture. Awful for taking photos of my dogs. Not sharp

Chose Samsung U600 because I previously had one of their phones (when I lived in Korea) and was satisfied with it, but am much less happy with this one. Partly the design is less good (I especially have had problems with the touch-sensitive buttons), and partly it's not well adapted to the UK market (the website is typically Korean in style, but is full of bugs and just does not suit a western cultural setting).- Read Guest's review (122 words)

I would not recomend the Samsung U600 as it often crashes and i have to take the battery out and put it hard in when i turn it back on which can take a while. I have had it around 6 months but i didnt use it for long i used it for about a month because i never get any signal at all and cannot call out the camera is also awful andvery slow. The sensitive buttons are bad because, i kept calling people without knowing and going onto the internet the phone keeps beeping when i put the charger in and ...- Read Guest's review (140 words)

From the start my Samsung U600 would freeze and turn off randomly. It is now less than a year old, however none of the touch screen buttons work. I cannot press call, reject, menu, pretty much all of the important buttons. All I can do is press numbers, which is useless since I cannot press call!!! A tremendous waste of money.
I have the purple one and most of the colour has chipped off to reveal black underneath. I believe that purple is the only one that does this since it is a more metallic ...- Read Guest's review (106 words)

Got Samsung U600 as a free upgrade to a contract which replaced my brick.
The styling is very nice, easy to slip away in shirt pocket etc
The touchpad buttons are not for people with big fat fingers and it is a bit too easy to unexpectadly leave the texting window before you complete your message. This is very frustrating !
I had to install a little aerial booster in mine as compared to other phones in the house the reception was not too strong on the U600 in comparison. I tested this on Virgin, ...- Read bigglad's review (186 words)

Samsung U600 looks good & easy to carry ... that's it!
The screen on my first U600 started failing - negative image, reversed image, distorted image, or no image at all, making it impossible to use. You couldn't see who was calling in, text or make calls. My replacement U600 is going exactly the same way after 4 months. The only thing stopping me from returning this one is that my contract runs out in 2 months and I can't wait to replace it! hasn't put me off Samsung ... just sliders.

This Samsung U600 phone was free as part of my contract and I love it. It was an upgrade from a motorola, which was appalling, and I have had it over a year without any problems. However, I have found that predictive text does tend to freeze, but I don't use it anyway. The only real problem I have had with the touch buttoms is when I threw it into my locker before entering an two-hour-long exam. When I came back, it had switched on to the internet, which isn't part of my contract. My parents wer ...- Read CloClo1's review (189 words)

I really liked this phone, the Samsung U600 had it for 18 months and i have changed it but still prefer to use my U600 i really really like it. It broke a few times but when i dropped it down the toilet i left it to dry it broke for a bit, then my screen started flashing the with just carrying on and using it as normal it fixed itself. It had a few software problems. Texting, pictures, simple but really good- Read Guest's review (82 words)

I bought this phone as a present and after about two weeks the person gave it back as they preferred their old phone. I quite like some of its features, especially its slim design, and it looks very impressive at first. However, the novelty soon wears off and you soon realise it is nothing special. Do not recommend Samsung U600.- Read darkscot's review (100 words)

I have had this phone the Samsung U600 for over 6 months and was told I cannot change it until at least 12 months so unfortunately I'm stuck with it. Originally had a Samsung d600 which was fab so wont be put off by another Samsung it's just the actual phone.- Read Guest's review (109 words)

Looks great but after the initial excitement of spending a hundred pounds you realise its not such a great phone. Features are rather rubbish. The weight, size and look is wonderful. Camera is fuzzy and you have to hold the phone for a while and the subject has to stay still for a long time or it goes blurry- no quick pics then!- Read ilovesamsung's review (86 words)

I love my u600 so much, I am a avid Samsung user and a lot of the problems mentioned on this review i had with all my other samsungs too.
The cutting out while texting will only happen on a slide/flip/twizzle style and can be expected from any Samsung.
The u600's battery lasts me a long time, i charge it every 3 days (and before you think it's because there's no activity on it then i can tell you there is) The vibrate response annoys me so i don't use it, one of the main things that annoys me ...- Read kezzylet's review (193 words)

My Samsung U600 only lasted 5 months - it would not switch on or when it did it would just switch off in the middle of a conversation. I complained to the retailer. Friends said the reviews were very bad, why didn't I check before I bought it. I trusted SAMSUNG, what a mistake!- Read snarin's review (58 words)

Overall a very good phone that can be bought it many different covers to suit differnt likes. The screen is very big and produces high quality photos and graphics though the screen is easily sratched. The phone has a memory card slot so it is possible to store more videos, photos and music. The phone has a good music player and also boasts and FM radio. Like most phones nowadays the Samsung U600 has bluetooth connectivity and GPRS for basic web surfing. The battery life on the phone isn't too go ...- Read queenofgreen's review (216 words)

I fell in love with the Samsung U600 phone and bought it immediately. But now after only 4 months, the phone keeps freezing, and at times, doesn't even switch on at all. I'm not one for throwing my phone around, or dropping it down the toilet, so I was rather astonished to find that after such a short amount of time, it now doesn't work properly. It isn't the first time I have heard of the Samsung U600 doing this, so I know feel as though I wasted my money.- Read elswo's review (124 words)
