Good Points: Great looking bike that always draws a crowd and comments. I had The West Coast Vincent Mechanic keep it in tune, no big deals. 42 horses with a single carb let out that song of induction, valves, gears and exhuast, that only a Triumph Twin has!

Bad Points: With a '66 XKE Jaguar sitting kext to the Trophy in the garage, I feel I had a taste of British Beauty. Even with Lucas Electricals, and The U.K. penchant for leaky seals, I was stranded only once, on the Triumph, (several times in the Jag.) and the bottoms of my shoes were always "well oiled" from seeping Castrol! If I had to point out any Bad Points, (but a cheap price for admission,) what else? Electrials and Leaks!

General comments: I took purchase of a 1969 Trophy in 2004. The gentleman who sold it had a herd of Harleys in his shop, but that Triumph stood out like a Jewel amidst stones!
Its Stainless Steel Fenders, Red Tank, surrounded with menacing Black Frame, sat there, with the ,purpose built strength, of a Boxing Champ, just waiting for the next round!
Un-cluttered by signal lights and mandatory junk, the Trophy looked great , sitting still with an admiring crowd, or down a ribbon of blacktop, with that unmistakable Parallel Twin roar. Rolling Sculpture that could "get in on"!

The Triumph Trophy 650 is a pleasure to ride on any day, always gets a crowd & admiring glances. Tax is free insurance is £84 fully comp, spares are realistically priced.
On the move, it can more than keep up with traffic, with lively acceleration.
Depreciation is non existent, but requires regular maintenance & is a labour of love.
What are you waiting for? get out & get one & relive your youth.
