Top bike ..im 5ft7 and 108kgs...had it for a year and its the best bike i ever bought ..one small minor thing ..if the bike shop hasnt installed the crank properly it will pop out within 6 months ..after every ride i adjust it with allen keys...put on schwable 1.75x26 punch proof tyres..wacked on a 28/38/48t crank ...and man she flies...got a vdo counter too..buy a boulder new models 2012 have disk brakes...you wont be dissapointed!!!… Read Full Review

This bike is indestructable. I have the 2007 model, and that means its been in service for 5 years. I started off on light trails and slowly made my way to the knarliest trails in Surrey ( Barry Knows Best, Yoghurt Pots, Summer Lightning etc...). Yes my bones got shattered because the suspension could barely keep up, but that is probably because i didnt keep it in great condition.....But it STILL worked!!!! Had the GIANT Boulder 3, 2011 model for just over a month and loving it. It is the cheapest GIANT mountain bike you can get with front suspension - replacing the GIANT upland SE from 2010.
I ride it on Saturdays and Sundays about 50-60km each time on cyclepaths and have yet to take it on some light trails. It handles very well, smooth and quiet, smooth gear shifting. Bought the Giant Boulder for wifes birthday 2 days ago,had to go back to have new back wheel and pads fitted cos they were skimming metal off the rims somehow!Also gear adjustment and a problem with rear derailler hitting the casette when going over bumps.Is this normal?Still love the bike though.Hopefully last of its teething problems.If not I,ll have to buy her a Trek!… Read Full Review

I own a boulder fs/2 from 2002, and apart from 'normal' maintenance it's a great bike; the sram 3.0 has never let me down; the suntour frontsusp. is still in good shape...and believe me: it's been used...;)
i did replaced the cassette, and the crankset; although i regret thar; the original blades a really big!

I've had this bike now for about two years. It is by far the best bike I have owned. It is non restrictive and powerful. As there is no rear suspension you don't lose any power and can easily top 34mph on a flat with no wind. It looks fantastic and is hard wearing. I have been hit by a car on this bike and it has survived without a scratch (although I did need to re-straighten one of the wheels). The EZ gear changer system is wonderful and smooth and works great going uphill and downhill.
