Well I own this camera around 4 month, good camera but for some reason iIam not very happy with the pictures, most of them under exposed.
Focusing also suffers in some situations and what is missing here is you can not get a battery grip for it cause there is none so far.
Therefore I do not recommend the Olympus E510.

I Had Eye On Two Cameras,This One And Canon 40D But My Budgets Did Not Allow Me To Go For Canon Which Was £300 More And The Nearest I Could Go For Similar To 40D Was Olympus E-510.
So Far I am Pleased With E-510 As It Reminds Me my Beloved OM2-Spot" Years Ago...A Very Well Respected Camera.
Well Done Olympus

The Olympus E510 is a darn good camera - I've moved to Olympus from KM cameras and I've not regretting it! Kit lenses are excellent; clear, bright and compact. Camera is very comfortable to handle, not too big, nor too small. Button layout is logical and well thought out. Bags of options and features - hard to beat for the money! One minor gripe - I would have liked a second "wheel" to adjust aperture without having to press the +/- button.

The Olympus E510 review - I have always loved Olympus equipment. They do some great lenses when you want to upgrade, and this is the first "open" system to emerge. They have always brought in new technology and have several firsts in this camera. Good value for money, great potential to see the camera system grow..

Lenses, Camera itself is an excellent product and generally everything else. Overall very stable platform and good sturdy built with great CCD chip.
Great photos too.

I use the Olympus E-510 and E-330 for action shots af rallying and find both cameras brilliant the 510 is probably better as it has the image stabilisation and in the panning mode in low light this helps a lot i have used a canon and would say for robust build and more pro looks the Olympus is the best and as i use sigma lenses i would also recommend these although there is nothing wrong with the kit lens from Olympus all in all a very good starter and advanced amature camera and i am getting just as good shots as the pros.
