Good Points: Does the washing fine. Supposedly energy and water efficient.

Bad Points: The print on the control panel blurred and disappeared after a year so it is impossible to see the settings to do your wash! The customer service is among the worst I have encountered with household appliances. The operators were not helpful, and all of their responses seem to come from a script book. The web version is worse.

General comments: We have two small children (under 4) with eczema -- so we use very mild detergents, and rarely use fabric softeners, or stain removers. Sometimes washing products spill a little and we wipe it off immediately -- we have never "cleaned" the washing machine in any other way. Even with just normal use the text on the controls have disappeared after little over a year. I have never had this happen with a washing machine.

When I contacted Zanussi customer service they were rude and insinuated that I had caused this with my cleaning methods. (That would be NONE!) It was ridiculous -- I have been laundering my family's clothes for 20 years and have NEVER had this problem with our Maytag and Whirlpool washing machines previously. My mother-in-law uses a Hotpoint at her B&B (high volume of sheets and towels!) and after 10 years has not had this happen.

I will never buy a Zanussi product again, and would dissuade my family and friends from buying Zanussi products, not only because of the weird disappearing ink on the controls, but because their customer service is rude to boot. If you hold Electrolux-Zanussi stock, sell it off! They have no interest in customer feedback - very bad sign for a consumer appliance company.
