“Worst dryer in the world ”

Written on: 24/03/2013

Got to be the worst appliance I've ever bought ,the belt has broken twice and to change the belt is a nightmare because there's no adjustment at all so you have to strip the back of the machine fit the belt with the body all twisted the put one screw in at a time whilst taking the twist out of the body. Now the machine only drys on delicates what a pile of xxxxxx (read more)

“Good dryer but now black marks”

Written on: 03/03/2013

I have read a review similar to this... black marks! Finally someone has shed some light on this for me. My clothes have suddenly started to get these grey to black marks which i could not decipher what was to blame. I had to throw all my work shirts out as nothing would remove th marks. The marks show up on all coloured clothing except black so all my sons school polo tops are ruined as are my shirts. Rewashing does not work or anyfirst time but after putting these marks on my... “Not even worth 1 star....Do not buy!!!!”

Written on: 14/08/2012

This has been a terrible buy! Bought in February...took a bit of getting used to, as the sensor seemed to think that clothes were dry, when everything was still damp, and now just 6 months later has stopped tumbling. Very disappointed, and wish I'd seen the reviews on here before buying. Perhaps this would suit a couple who only have a small amount of clothing to dry...but for a family,, absolutely useless! :-( (read more)

“Out of all the lemons I've ever purchased, this is the...”

Written on: 23/05/2012 by PoleDriver (1 review written)

I bought this as the 'sensor' facilities seemed to make this an extremely efficient unit. I was VERY wrong! Almost from new the dryer failed to dry anything in less than about 6 hours. It has cost me a fortune in electricity. The, so-called, sensors merely turn it off too soon indicating that the soggy pile of clothes inside is 'ready-to-wear'.... Only if you are a mermaid or live in Atlantis! DO NOT BUY ONE! (read more)

“couldn't recommend to an enemy. ”

Written on: 10/11/2011 by liar

I'm happy to purchase inexpensive but NOT at the cost of ineffective....Possibly too many other things to do when moving house and felt it was a good replacement in a flat (modest in name, price, claims etc, but quietly effective). WRONG! Do NOT buy this- it tumbles, makes silly noises, needs tank emptied and tiny filter defluffed constantly, and DRIES NOTHING for HOURS. Standing in a moderately warm room and leisurely wafting your clothes about would be a 99% more effecitve way of... (read more)

“waste of money”

Written on: 08/10/2011

I purchased this dryer as it was on a special offer in Argos and thought it must be good. How wrong was I. I replaced an old whirlpool which I had had for many years and I would rather have it back. The Beko does not get hot so your clothes just take forever. You can only dry a small amount at a time. When I phoned Argos they said its not on the 30 day money back guarantee, who pass you to Beko who are so unfriendly and unhelpful said there's no fault even tho it does not dry clothes. Bit... I have just contacted BEKO customer services.... via their website...
Great experience so far... after entering the details they e-mail you back and ask the same information and ask you to call an 0845 number if you'd prefer.
The product is out of warranty, we have had the experience of black marks on our drying but assumed that it was the washing machine at fault... WRONG!!!
It is out of warranty but sounds like a known fault from another forum. I have politely asked for the problem... to sort it myself if they won't have a gesture of goodwill....
Will keep informed...

OK for small items but useless for lge sheets quilt covers etc as everything quickly becomes a tight ball that has no chance of drying. he paused to sort mess out does not continue cycle but starts from beginning again. “Beko were the cheapest sensor vented tumble dryer in...”

Written on: 12/01/2009 by Secularian (21 reviews written)

Beko were the cheapest sensor vented tumble dryer in Currys in October 2008 priced at £150.

The dryer seems to take close to 2 1/2 to 3 hours to dry (cupboard dry) a half load of washing. Almost double the amount of time a Hotpoint dryer used to take to dry the same type of load.

The sensor does not accurately sense when the clothes are actually dry. The a majority of larger paneled clothes and laundry do reach a level of drying however, the seams, double layers of cloth and smaller paneled... (read more)

Written on: 16/02/2011 by thereandthen (3 reviews written)

I had a budget Servis tumble dryer which packed up after 8 years of good service. The in laws kindly helped us out by buying us this tumble dryer but unfortunately it is absolutely useless. It takes litterally hours to dry clothes even if you only put a single item in. You can't even trust it to leave it over night because the moisture sensor will shut it down before the clothes are even dry. I think my breath is hotter than the air this rubbish puts out. Unfortunately because it was a... (read more)

I too had the misfortune to buy a Beko DRVS62W tumble drier, how I wish I had read these reviews first. I have the same black marks as mentioned and now 14 months later the seal on the drum has broken and the belt has snapped. I have contacted Beko and been advised that this is basically not their problem. They are prepared (as a gesture of goodwill) to pay for the parts required and it is my responsibility to pay the engineer. Their customer service and attitude of their staff leaves a... (read more)

Bought the tumble dryer in november 2009 from argos, its been broken 3 times already, first time the drum had cracked in half and snapped the belt. These last twice it has been going round and round but not drying the clothes as there is no heat. If you call argos its not their problem they put you through to Beko and when you get through to beko its not theirs either. Each time it has taken at least 3 weeks for the engineer to come out to fix it. I would not recommend any Beko electricals... (read more)

Written on: 06/06/2010

I have just purchased this tumble dryer and I also have the problem with black marks. Someone came and looked at the machine and says he will come back and fit some sort of guard to the machine. These marks are not oil. They are very straight lines sometimes with a V shape at the end. Does this sound familiar? Unfortunately I didn't do any checks about this make before I purchased, wish I had.

I must be the only person who got a working BEKO dryer. The sensor drying is fantastic my ironing pile has reduced dramatically. I replaced my old drier with this due to the black marks on clothing that most people are experiencing and that was another well known name. Most of my white goods are BEKO never had a problem with any. I've bought BEKO products on recommendations from other people. (read more)

Whoops wish i read the reviews before buying this product. We needed a tumble dryer quick and picked this one mainly on price. Big Mistake!!!! Luckily I have had none of the black marks but have just spent 4 hours drying 3k of washing so guessing it would take 8 hours to dry the full 6k it is capable of holding. My Husband has had to take it apart more times than i can remember to fix it but we have only had to replace the belt. I would say to anyone thinking about buying this product to... (read more)

I originally bought this machine more on price than anything else. It has given me nothing but trouble. I have now been without a tumble dryer for over 4 months as engineers, used by Domestic & General insurance have failed to rectify the problem after 7 engineers visits plus 2 cancelled visits due to them obtaining incorrect spare parts. The problem has always been that the machine switches from start to finish whilst the clothes are still soaking wet.The engineers have replaced all of the... Once the actual Beko technician came out to my machine I felt as though I was going to get somewhere. He did a thorough check on the machine found a couple of things wrong and also the wrong PCB had been fitted. He ordered the part returned on a day convenient to me and fitted it. Guess what, low and behold the machine works. I put it on synthetics ready to wear and the clothes were ready to wear. I then tried it on cotton extra dry and that worked too, and it only took 45 minutes to dry... (read more)

Written on: 08/06/2008 by tylertica

As others have commented, the Beko DRVS62W doesn't always dry items well at all. For instance a duvet cover will just get rolled up into a ball and stay wet. The main thing is the black marks our drier put on our clothes. We had the original drier replaced (it was extremely noisy) and the new one also marked items after a couple of weeks. We had the drum and bearing replaced and within 3 uses the drier was marking clothes again. We are after a refund.
Also the electrical cable for the... (read more)

This Beko DRVS62W dryer has never worked on sensor dryer. The clothes are still wet when the programme has finished. After 2 1/2 hours on timed drying I still have to put the clothes on a radiator to finish drying. I have had 6 engineers out to the machine but none of them have been able to fix it. I have had it for 2 days, what a shame. I was extremely pleased when I discovered the build quality for the budget price, of this machine.
It's drying quality is poor.
E mailed Beko customer service and they replied virtually immediately. Excellent.
There suggestion was, that I contact Comet. I am afraid that it is going back or to the tip. That would be cheaper than trying to run it. (read more)
