One of the best clarinets for the money. You get want you pay for with this one. Produces a remarkably consistent tone, with stable tuning across the range. A fine instrument that's built to last.

love it. it produces a full sound which is great for the low notes. the high notes are not too shrill and are just beautiful. I have a special edition where it has the alternate Eb key on the left, and that is very convenient. I really have no complaints. If I take good care, I'm sure I could use this through college. I personally own one Buffet E11 clarinet and is second-hand. Hence I got this model rather cheap and it is a good place to start for me in this band commitment. Some says tone affected by mouthpiece and reed etc that's with this piece of lower end instrument mixed with a good piece of mouthpiece, one will not be put at disadvantage side. I use this E11 for my concerts as well and when it comes to tuning with whole band, the pitch is really comparable with the Rcs and R13s users around me.... (read more)

I first received my E-11 in 7th grade and have been playing it all these years up until my 12th (and going!)
It is a wonderful horn and sounds as great as the day I first received it in the mail. For a player who isn't serious, I would not recommend buying this horn. Instead, something cheaper like a low-end clarinet may be more suitable for your needs. For the serious student player, this is the horn to have. Buffet E-11 Bb - Overall, I am glad I have bought this clarinet. It is also very lightweight, unlike the more professional models. (read more)

None of the Buffet E11s (E11 Nickle, with Bell ring or E11 France, silver plated keys no bell ring) are plastic. You may have a student clarinet not an E 11.
