Good Points: At lunch time you can pick up a meal and a drink for the total of £5, depending on what you are drinking, as all mains are £2.95. You can add side orders if you wish to suit your budget, and your appetite. And no, it's not all raw fish; there is a variety of rice and noodle based meals, such as broths, and you can have meats available, such as chicken or beef. If you go for dinner you will be paying over £10. The establishment is in the city centre. It's a bar by night, and they do cocktails as well as the usual drinks.
Bad Points: It's in the city centre, so during seasonal/peak times it can be busy, but it's never been so busy that I couldn't get a seat. You may have to use cutlery if they run out of chopsticks! It's not a family establishment, so sorry kids, no raw fish for you! The toilet facilities are fine, but getting in and out of the cubicle doors can be a squeeze sometimes, and a little tightly packed!
General comments: I go to Miso quite often, as it suits a laid back lunch in the city centre, and it really suits anyone's budget, which is great. The seating is spacious - you can choose from booths or tables available, sit in the back or by the windows and watch the people scurrying by, hurriedly munching their £3.50 sandwich from the shop around the corner that falls away in their hands - haha!
They have random films on in the background. The decoration of the place is in Japanese theme, not traditional though; more modern with murals; similar to Manga cartoons, and they also have fish tanks along the strip of wall aside the booths.
I would recommend it to anyone that wants to try something new. And you don't have to spend over budget, such as in places like Wagamamma, where it's a little over-hyped and bland; no offence!
