    Good Points: A Utopian destination, for pike-fishing, in Ireland. Our four night stay and three days fishing was perfect. The accommodation was above our expectations and the Irish welcome and hospitality lived up to it's reputation. We had one slow fishing day (caught 8) and the other two days were particularly good (caught 13 and 16).

    The boat was exactly as described and the adventure lunches on the islands of Loch Derg were very enjoyable. The Great Pike Fishing Company has up to 20 boats, with the majority of the boats being located in boathouses conveniently situated by the lakeside, the accommodation conveniently had direct access to Lough Derg.

    We were provided with a full breakfast, a barbecued or packed lunch on one of Loch Derg's islands and a full evening meal.

    We spent the evenings hoovering up Guinness in the local pubs. Not exactly a hardship!


    Bad Points: The weather can be a little on the unreliable side, it is Ireland after all. Take wet weather gear as the going is frequently soft!


    General comments: A brilliant pike fishing holiday for anglers of all abilities. Accommodation was excellent and I've been on many fishing trips in my many years! The Irish welcome, scenery, food and drink are second to none. As was the pike fishing!
