I have the Gamo Hunter Extreme in the .25 cal and have killed many living creatures with it. This thing will take out a deer with no problem. If you enjoy the art of hunting and killing harmless creatures the Hunter Extreme is a dream. This thing will blow a huge hole out of a rabbits hide. You will love this air rifle if you know how to shoot it. I loved the power of the guns velocity and the distance that a mark can be attained within. I wish I had known how much I would be shotting... (read more)

i think there should be a rule that you have to learn the artilary hold for spring air rifles before you write a review so many ppl bash this rifle
and infact if you knew how to properly shoot a springer
you would be very supprised with the great accuracy of the hunter extreme
im talking about hole in hole shots at 40 yards
its a great gun buy it if you can
if you have never owned a springer study the artilary hold
dont go into something new thinking you know what you are doing
artilary...

I bought this rifle as to upgrade in power from my gamo varmint.at first i thought i wasted my money, its heavy, difficult to cock, and the trigger was like trying to clamp a vise grip.accuracy was all over the place but i soon discovered it wasnt the rifle it was the scope, the paralax was so bad i'd get 5" groups at 30'.bought a red dot sight and this gun will put pellets through the same hole all day long.charliedatuna.com sells a trigger for this gun that turns it into a very acceptional... I purchased my Gamo Hunter Extreme from MidwayUSA along with several .177 pellet styles; including Gamo Gold. Great look'n heavy weight rifle. I am typically a very good shot, but even from bench with sand bags, I could not get the groups to settle even within inches. This is the only firearm I have ever returned, but Midway refunded promptly. (read more)

This gun is like carrying a bag of bricks all day. I have a Muzzle loader that weighs less. Not hunter friendly if you like to be on the move when hunting.
Too many other .22 air guns on the market that do the same and cost half as much. Would not reccomend. I have a Beeman RS2 made in China that cost 1/5 th the price and is an all around better gun.

Buy a GAMO rifle, its fun. I am new to the air rifle world. This gun is pretty kick butt. I first bought a crosman g1extreme as a joke to shoot beer cans with college buddies and upgraded to the gamo .22 hunter extreme. Loving it so far. Squirrels will not get my tulips this year. The Gamo hunter Extreme is pretty heavy though but still recommend. (read more)

I bought the rifle for hunting. Terribly inaccurate. I would no feel comfortable shooting any type of small game with this. Not to mention it's about as loud as a .22 firearm. Gamo customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. (read more)

I bought this rifle for hunting squirrel, but after about 100 shots trying to zero the scope, I finally had to accept that the rifle was just all over the place. I spoke with customer service and was quite offended by their rudeness and lack of professionalism. After sending it back along with some other accessories, I did not receive my $600+ refund for over 12 weeks. I would never deal with GAMO again. (read more)

I bought the rifle because I read the reviews of this website, but I will return this rifle to get another brand rifle. The Gamo Hunter Extreme, for me, is just a waste of money. (read more)

I know it sounds odd but I still think the Gamo Hunter Extreme is a great gun, I just might have gotten a bad one. No matter how good something is there is always a lemon here and there. I still would recommend this gun to anyone who wants to spend the money even though I can just look at mine. (read more)

Overall good!! The Gamo Hunter Extreme is light, easy to handle and easy to cock. Im not sure about the looks and it could do with a bit more power, but the accuracy is good. (read more)

THE GAMO HUNTER IS 10LBS AND COCKING IS AROUND 58LBS.

I found this review unhelpful because...
<br/>Contradictory - "overall good" but rates a 1/10?
<br/>"Light" and "easy to cock" - at about 10lbs and 58lbs cocking effort that seems relatively odd
<br/>"Could do with a bit more power" - isn't this one of the more powerful guns around?

great rifle overall. good for varmits around the hen house without scaring the girls. also good for shooting where a regular rifle would scare neighbors. (read more)

Hunter Extreme is truly a super powerful hunting air rifle compare with other spring rifles. I have taken quite a few larger size rabbits and some small pest with one shot (mostly head and around chest area). the power is amazing, more than enough for one shot clean kill. I am using Diabolo Barracuda extra heavy pellet with this rifle, and found quite accurate (apart from the bad trigger influence) This is a very heavy rifle and hard to cock without proper technique. Would be even better... (read more)

I think that the Gamo Hunter Extreme has good quality of build and it is accurate and powerful. I started off with a Gamo 220 combo .177. For many years it has been very reliable. I have just recently received this Hunter Extreme. The first shot was all what I had expected from this air rifle. Great power and with the 9-10 lbs weight that helped out with keeping the extreme stable. After sighting in the scope at 25yds it was really accurate and all the shots were consistently within the 1.5"... (read more)

I just got this gun about a month ago and it has to be the most powerful, accurate pellet gun out there. I sighted mine in at 20 yards and i can still hold right on at 40. The most accurate pellets i have shot are the Gamo Rockets, Today i shot a 22 casing off a birdhouse at 20 yards. I think it is the most powerful because i shot a dove off a Powerline at 35 yards and the pellet went straight through the bird. Can't wait to shoot something with the PBA pellets. Happy Hunting (read more)

This rifle is no toy, i really don't know if it really shoots at 1650 fps, i bought it and first i tried accuracy and i hit a AA battery at 40 yards and the most impressive thing about it was it passed right through the battery using the Gamo PBA RAPTORS that come with the rifle. I saw a TV ad and in that video you can see a guy killing with 1 shoot a 200 lb. hog, i own 31 air rifles, pneumatic, precharged, brake barrels, but nothing i own come close to this one, perhaps an air force... Do you know if there is any difference between the hunter extreme and the hunter 1250?
Written on: 16/10/2008
gamo 1250 is mainly the same it just has sights and a muzzle break<br/>also available in two calibers .177 and .22 both great hunting rifles.

Says made in england on side, someone said its really a BSA - i think the feel and quality are superior to most guns in its price range - nothing new here though as my RX 2 says Theoben on the side of the barrel so I'm used to big companys importing their arms and putting there model name on it - i think Gamo bought BSA though. I really thought my rx 2 was the most powerful 177 i ever shot until i got my RWS 54 and started to rethink this - the Gamo Extreme puts them both to shame - i don't... (read more)

This is the real deal! This rifle is not a toy. Has more power then a 22 cal. By far the best air rifle I've owned. On the first day when sighting in the pellets went through two 3/4" plywood boards., I killed 3 rats at 30 yards. I promise if you try this gun you will want it for your own. There is no other gun this powerful. (read more)
