My mother and I went in there today and found it very cold. My mother ask a man who was working there why no heating was on and he said he was ok and it was'nt cold. My mother said it was very cold and he just walked off. Another table called the man over and said they thought it was cold and he just walked away. When the same man brought our food to the table and my mother said again that she found it cold . He said the heating is a timer and they got no control over it. The man from the next table said he should go and ask someone to turn the heating off the man never answered just walked off again. When we had finished our meal the table by the side of me 4 people sat down and I could hear them commting about how cold it was. They called a waitress over and they said they was very cold . She said I'm very sorry but we cant turn the heating on. Really dont expect in the middle of november for a resturant not to have heating on.

Was a late sunday afternoon. my husband and I thought we'd eat at brewsters as we usually get good value for money. Asked for a roast turkey was told there was one left. They were not kidding, was given 1 half a slice of meat. Think this was compensated with an extra yorkshire pud i think, DISAPOINTING

waited one hour and five minutes for food. As it was busy we understood and the children played in the play area, but were told we would have to wait 15 minutes for jelly and ice cream. I thought this was an insult to our intelligence. How long does it take to put one blob of jelly and one blob of ice cream on a plate?

we were very happy with time we waited for food and food was very good for price the only problem we had was waiting for desert to come out after we had are food but other than that the staff kept asking if everything was aright and were friendly.really liked the idea of a play area in the restaurant

Brewsters at Lower Darwen was dirty, wine was served in two tumblers as they had run out of wine glasses. We were informed that our bar tab had been deducted due to the poor service we received. This did not happen. We were also promised a £25 discount if we rang up to book another meal this never happened. The time was 17.30pm Sunday evening and most of the food was off the menu.

We visited early evening on a Sunday, there was lots of space to park and the restaurant was quite quiet so we expected very good prompt service...
We ordered two roast dinners with the upgrade and drinks. The orders arrived in about 10 minutes or so, we realised after starting to eat that they were in fact incorrect. (The menu is not clear on quantity of what you get with the roast dinner nor on the upgrade option so we only realised when my friend mentioned she thought we were supposed to have two yorkshire puds and we didn't). I thought that as they were the large ones you just got one or two smaller ones, we clarified it and it turned out the orders were wrong.
After complaining to a member of the bar staff after 10-15 minutes there seemed to be nothing happening so we eventually got the attention of a manager and 5mins later it was finally sorted. By which time we would have preffered a refund (this wasnt offered) as we had finished and were contemplating dessert.
I had dessert (Cheesecake) and asked for it with Ice cream but got pouring cream ... I didnt bother complaning as I didnt fancy another wait and I could manage cream just as well.
I think it's OK for a general meal out but not for something special.

I booked a kids party for my sons 5th birthday and 15 of his friends, only to find out the day before the party had been cancelled due to flooding in the area (that I fully understand) what upset me was that I was never called once to advise me they hadn't re-opened. They say they called but wouldn't leave a message on my answer phone (not company policy) in case they get the wrong person. WHY would I give them a false number when they have my deposit? To upset me even more 4 weeks later they still had not contacted me to re-arrange the party, so I popped in to see them-only to be told they had stopped doing parties and would give me my money back. Okay that's fair enough-yet the debit card I paid with is invalid as I had to close the account down(a joint account with my ex). They told me they could not give me my deposit back due to not being able to supply the card for them.
As you can guess I am very mad about this and have no party and still no money back.

Used more for its family friendliness than anything else. I'd hate to find myself staying at the travel lodge next door and find it's the only pub within walking distance. It's bar area is confusing and slides into the restaurant area which is a mis-match of fake furnishings. Service, when your food comes it is good and the kids like it - but I wish there were fewer deep-fried dishes and bit more thought and effort into making it a bit healthier. When the food does come it's much better than you'd expect but I suppose if you have been waiting as long as I have in the past, you're starting to consider eating the table, with just a splash of tobasco...

On two occasions recently we have visited this restaurant, on the first visit I ordered a salmon baguette, after waiting over half an hour I inquired where my food was to be told it had been forgotten, It would have been quicker to have gone to Tescos bought and made it myself. The second visit I ordered curry, waited half an hour, but it was very nice. It is family friendly and the surroundings nice. They just need to get their act together !
