“Over cooked”

Written on: 07/03/2014 by KristianWilliams123 (1 review written)

I received my Traditional breakfast which was all over cooked. Toast hard as rock, egg like rubber, hash browns dry and bacon past crispy. I did complain and was given a fresh meal this was a little improved but not great. By the time I got my meal I was eating alone as my son had finished. His toasts was also rock hard. This is the first time I have had an issue with my meals. Maybe a new cook?… Read Full Review

We eat at wetherspoons quite a lot.but it was on Saturday21st dec.we went to Sheffield and had a meal at your Cambrige street premises(huntsman.i think its called)The food was really good and the service was quite quick considering how packed it was.Now to come to the difference. We eat at least once a month in Lincoln at your restaurant on Silver street. The portions there are considerably smaller than in Sheffield and on a number of occassions parts of the meal have not been hot (chips in… Read Full Review

“Service & quality”

Written on: 30/11/2013

Have eaten there on many special occasions, and have always had good food, and service.Someone always comse to your table to ask if everything is ok. love the decor, everywhere is very clean.Very sad the cheesecake, to die for, has been taken off the menu, great shame. When you phone to book a table, they always seem to find a little corner for you, even if they are very busy, this is very much appreciated. Thank you… Read Full Review

“Abergavenny wetherspoons disgusting”

Written on: 03/07/2013

I use Wetherspoons regularly. I use Cwmbran Pontypool Newport and Abergavenny. We go as a group. A few weeks ago I used Abergavenny Wetherspoons for breakfast. MY GOD THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. INEDIBLE IN FACT. The food was burnt it had obviously been hanging about a long long time. No staff on hand to complain to. Out of six breakfasts nobody could eat it. The outside of the sausages were burnt the inside was pink when you tried to cut into it. The egg was congealed and… Read Full Review

“Wetherspoons, Matlock, Derbyshire”

Written on: 01/07/2013

Depending on the staff, its ok. One staff member though actually moaned because we asked her to clean a table, despite being practically empty, as it was in a booth and we like sitting there. It had just been vacated. She didn't see why we couldn't sit elsewhere as people were a nuisance insisting on sitting there when there were plently of other tables. She came and cleaned it obviously not happy about it, which is why I apologised and got all of the above said to me. You would think when it… Read Full Review

“Wake Six Chimneys Hovel and Filthy no hygiene standards ”

Written on: 14/05/2013 by TourofGBreview (1 review written)

First time I had ever visited the Six Chimneys Wetherspoons in Wakefield I ordered a snack by a surly member of staff - I was put off my dinner after sitting opposite the "serving hatch" - here I saw the waitress eat her dinner, read a paper, take a drink out of one of the juice cartons (no glass straight to mouth) which the juice is served to customers as pure orange (pure saliva!!) then without washing her hands serve a pint!!!!! No hand washing from any of the staff - nails dirty staff… Read Full Review

Petmel123's Response to TourofGBreview's Review

I agree, this branch of Wetherspoons has definetely got a lot of room for improvement. I would start with hygiene courses for the staff followed by front of house professionalism and definetely how to clean tables and equipment.

“Dont eat at Wetherspoons, Andover”

Written on: 24/04/2013

Worse place we have ever eaten at. The whole of the time we were there the tables were never wiped over and cleaned. Only one member of staff serving food who was grumpy to say the least. We ordered medium steak, half of steak was just about cooked and edible, though very chewy. The other half of steak was still red and uncooked and could not be eaten. Chips were awful and one tiny mushroom on plate. Trying to find someone to complain to was impossible, as only one member of staff would pop… Read Full Review

“Food poisoning”

Written on: 14/04/2013

Both my husband and myself visited the Savoy Wetherspoons in Swindon last Saturday. We have been there before and had eaten there and been satisfied with our meal. We both had a burger with chips and onion rings, all seemed fine. A few hours after our meal we both felt unwell suffering a high temperature, nausea and diarrhoea. Fortunately my husband felt better the following day but I have continued to be unwell for the following week. I visited my GP yesterday who confirmed food poisoning… Read Full Review

Actraining's Comment

Written on: 24/07/2013

Food poisoning is a very serious accusation and highly unlikely from the type of food Wetherspoons serve. People are very quick to point the finger at pubs and restaurants, especially doctors, even though they know that most food proisoning happens in the home. It's a shame the doctor didn't offer professional advice I.e the normal onset time for pathogenic microbial food poisoning.

Glad to hear you recovered

Written on: 23/03/2013 by RandLH (1 review written)

Myself, husband, son and his wife have visited the Shaw branch of Weatherspoons on numerious occasions since it opening last year. Following our recent dining experience Friday 22/3/13 5:30pm,NEVER AGAIN! We ordered our meals and whilst awaiting the food we discussed the recent service and quality of the food we had all experienced in Weatherspoons. The consensus of opinion was it was the service and quality appeared to decline in the evening. Our point was confirmed when the meals arrived… Read Full Review

“Food”

Written on: 13/03/2013 by akiuk2 (1 review written)

The pub had a good atmosphere apart from a crying/screaming 3 year old. The staff were very helpful and courteous apart from the manager who we never saw. The food came quickly looked presentable but after the first mouthful became a tedious challenge to finish it. I had a half peri peri chicken which was so dry I had to dip it into mayonnaise to eat it. It had no flavour chips were okay obviously frozen. My friends chicken nuggets were rubbery and the side salad dry. Garlic bread with cheese… Read Full Review

“Wakefield Wetherspoons Staff are rude and unprofessional ”

Staff are sarcastic, rude and speak to customers like they are dirt. The food is disgusting and the toilets are disgusting. Staff need to change their attitude towards paying customers and profer a more professional attitude. They are rude beyond belief and never wash their hands, slam the glasses down and your change into your hands. I personally will never ever use the Wakefield Wetherspoons again.
