My two dogs seem to get the poops with Iams not sure if its to rich. I changed food and all okay. Went back to just a few iams mixed with latest food and back to having loose poops again.

I’ve been feeding my dog Iams for years. He is a 10 year old Boston Terrier and he’s never had an issue with the food before, until now. I just opened up a new bag about 3 weeks ago and he developed a skin rash and blisters all over his belly and inner thighs. I started him on a topical cream, thinking it was just a rash that would go away with some time. I started to notice that it would flare up every night after he ate. I decided to switch his food, and within 48 hours (and no topical ointment) the rash is almost gone! I’m not sure if it was just a bad bag, but I am not going to run that risk and I am never giving him Iams again, especially after reading reviews about dogs getting diarrhea and becoming dehydrated.

Our puppies had been on Royal Canin from the start and even though one of my dogs wasn't that fussed about it my vet said to get him to eat what he would because it was the best food on the market. However, my husband got made redundant and I ended up buying Iams from the supermarket for them. It didnt take more than a month for their fur to go dull and their skin to go flakey and they seemed very itchy all the tme. After reading other reviews about this product I decided to go back to Royal Canin and within a month their coats are fantasticallly shiny and people are commenting again on how healthy my dogs look. I definitely won't go for the cheap option again for them.

My husband and I have an 8month old german shepherd. We have been feeding her large breed iams puppy food until this past saturday. I opened the bag and some of the food was moldy and there was bugs in it and something that looks like a maggot. Needless to say, we took our food back and demanded a refund. The food made our dog vomit and have diarrhea. I will never feed my animals Iams food. We were told around this time of year bugs get in the food. So I do not reccommend buying this dog food.

My dog has very sensitive stomach and Iams Lamb and Rice was the only dog food she could tolerate. Recently they've changed their formulation (adding caramel coloring to 1/3 of the kibbles). After her first meal, it came all back out. We tried again about 2 more times and she threw it all up. We were able to find some left over bags of the old food but after those are gone, we'll have to change to Eukanuba or Science Diet (we haven't tried those yet). So, if your dog is food sensitive, it might reject the new formulation.
Good luck (I'll still buy Iams for my other dog).

Iams Dog Food - I'm very unhappy about this and dont dare give him Iams again. This dog has never had loose or watery movements, which is what happened with this bag twice.

That doesn't sound like it is definitely Iams fault. It could have been a storage issue with the store. This doesn't help me with the product itself as a whole.
