Good Points: A 2 minute walk from dropping off your car to the terminal.
Bad Points: Please read the review.
General comments: I booked with Prestige Parking because I wanted to ensure my brand new car was kept under cover, on the airport, and their hype made it seem that was to be the case. Not so.
Yes they do have a hangar with cars in it just 2 mins from the terminal, but that isn't to say that your car (which you pay over the odds for) is going to be one of the lucky ones. The hangar looks as though it could hold about 100 nose to tail at a push.
A month previously I had read a press report in a broadsheet about a user who had collected their car from Prestige, driven it to the nearby petrol station on the airport, noticed a wing mirror had been broken by an impact, and the outer casing shattered. Prestige refused to listen, or help as the damage had not been checked before they left their compound.
In spite of this, I put the review down to someone 'trying it on' and went ahead with my booking. On the day I left my car with reception and asked where in the hangar my car was going to be stored. I was informed that a space would be allocated after I had left. I was asked to leave my car in the hangar where it would be parked up later. With some misgivings I gave up my keys, but set my trip to zero before leaving.
On my return, at 2 in the morning, I picked up my car, which was parked up outside the hangar, and after a cursory check, switched on - my trip showed it had travelled 14 miles from dropping it off. Asking reception about it was met with a shrug.
Next day, on washing my car, and folding my mirrors in, my nearside wing mirror fell off, revealing the glue that had been used to stick it back in place. I assume that it was either a) damaged on site and crudely repaired or b) Mitsubishi glue their wing mirrors in place on the nearside, whilst fitting a folding wing mirror on the offside.
Checking their website before writing this, I now find that Prestiges wording has changed dramatically, and no claim is actually made about storing your car under cover. Try Airparks - I used them 3 months later and was very very happy. You even see them park your car on site, in a line, before you leave on the bus.
