“Great rifle”

Written on: 20/04/2012 by ukfrosty

I have had my rifle for 12 years. It's super reliable, accurate and powerful. I have now sent mine in for tuning as time weakened the spring but that happens to all rifles. Got mine with a scope for about £150. For that money I can't find another comparable rifle out there. Recommend RWS super-pointed pellets for the best accuracy. (read more)

“improved by titan tuning”

Written on: 21/11/2011 by kingtobias (5 reviews written)

Initially this carbine was quiet and powerful, but the power dwindled away until the spring snapped. I wouldn't trust one straight from the box as it was made to be 21ftlb in spain its internals are swapped for cheap components over here. One thing for sure the trigger is ugly and it wobbles, It effects accuracy to a degree so its a learn to use gun. I liked the look at first mine has no chequering but it was an ok gun to look at. With practice this can achieve great accurtacy. I recently... (read more)

Initial sighting in seemed to be very good,a few issues have manifested now though, such is the beauty of the spring rifles diy nature.
Pellets need to be washed and lubed, internals need lubing, and I have just polished and rebuilt my trigger which has improved the harsh stiff release it did have,to something well behaved as it could get for a non adjustable unit.I intend to do a full strip and polish the internals. This is a great alternative to a mk1 lightning or webley stingray,I could find... Further to my previous review, after shooting the cometa 300s for quite some time i think points need mentioning. firstly and most importantly the trigger needs a major re think. the 3 component parts have the ability to move at an angle on their pins making the rifle hard to cock and unsafe to shoot. this can be sorted by putting a very thin washer (i used pellet tin lid , with a hole punched with a office hole puncher and cut to size with scissors)on each pin , all to one side. this stops... Got given this 300s as a part exchange on one of my rifles. so far it is all pros with this gun. There was a nasty twang when shooting it , but a full strip and lube sorted that problem out (for all of you d.i.y ers out there the gun is a piece of cake to strip , just watch out for the rivets that hold the trigger assy, together the fall out easily) this rifle is a good , simple , cheap and accurate bunny basher. not too light or too heavy to hunt with. sure there are better guns out there ,... Just chopped my 95K in for 1 of these, thought I was going to be disappointed.Shame on me,the transport grease was readily cleaned off to make way for my gun grease an some oil on the breach bolt and a lite smear on the stock to bring up the colour.
The weight of the rifle is better distributed,I was going to make my own stock to compensate for the weihrauch's short comings.
Having moved my scope over and sighted in to 10 then 28 yrds with dare I say milbro select(said to be rubbish by many... (read more)

well the cometa 300s carbine is the worst air rifle i have ever had i bort it for £300 i swaped it for smk19 a £100 gun. the 300 was heavy too heavy the suppresor took all the power off it. the only good thing was it looked nice in my cabinet lol dont buy it if you have £300 by a cheap gun and kit it up;) ps the smkxs79 co2-88g is the best gun i have ever bort (read more)

if you have £300 then buy a decent 2nd hand TX , or 97 or a brand new 77. this gun will never win any FT competitions, but it never markets itself that it will.this is not an EV2 ! it is a full power, cheap and very basic bit of kit , just buy it for that ! and before you say , yes i know the silencer is rubbish but then you have to be an idiot to think you can silence a springer. and finally you spell "bort" bought or even brought.

Well what can i say, the cometa 300 is possibly one of the best springers around, an absolute fantastic and exciting rifle to use. Delivering a 12 ft/lbs of power it is enough to fill a gamebag many times over and great for target work. I personally use the rifle to shoot small game and i must say, i can kill these with a headshot with a range of about 10 and sometimes 15 metres. Absolutely great and the price is good aswell. Love it! (read more)

I purchased my .22 Cometa 300S (silencer/carbine) for £130 and was immediately impressed with the rifles overall quality.

The ambidextrous stock is made from a very attractive piece of Beech covered with a warm, deep, satin finish and pleasant grain, and very comfortable to hold. The quality of the wood is very high and a QD stud for my removable bipod is still firmly in place, without the need for glue etc, after considerable abuse.

The short barrel and fixed moderator give the rifle... (read more)
