Good Points: Prices, range of goods.

Bad Points: Monolithic and totally ineffective complaints service. Like so many large corporations, Tesco are fine until you have a problem - then they don't want to know.

General comments: I spent almost £1000 on computer equipment (about which I have no complaint - it's been excellent). The following day, I got a month-old(!!) Tesco flyer in the post, containing a coupon which would have saved me about £50 if I'd received it in time. No problem - I was sure they'd honour the coupon if I went in with my receipt. I was wrong. I was too late and that was that - they weren't even polite. My family used to spend serious money in Tescos - it's now zero. Not that I imagine they give a damn one way or the other.

On 12 March 2008 we purchased a Hewlett Packard laptop computer through Tesco Direct. The price of this laptop was £399.00 and included a Canon all in one printer valued at £89.00. We were advised printer currently out of stock but laptop would arrive at our local outlet by 14 March 2008. We called in to our local outlet at 5.00pm on 14 March 2008 and were not surprised to find the laptop had arrived as we had never had cause to complain about Tesco Customer Service over the previ ...

The service was great and the goods delivered on time. Very punctual indeed and Tesco gives great value for money in my opinion. Well recommended!

Personally I find Tesco is the worst place to shop there are few positive things that I can say about them. I think they are the masters in price fixing and always manage to over charge. However, they are a HUGE company and for that reason I respect them in a way.

This has happened to me on a few occasions where I've had to go back to Tesco customer services to query a buy one get one free that hasn't been deducted at the till or an item that displayed a special offer but in fact wasn't on the receipt. In my opinion,Tesco appear to be the worse for doing this and I'm not the only one that's had this problem. Yesterday I was furious, being a Sunday the shop was packed and all I wanted to do was get home. On returning I checked my receipt and noticed about 6 ...

Several phone calls were made to the Tesco store, and even a phone call back to me, to confirm that Halo 3 was in store and purchasable. The woman at customer services did not help in any way, neither did the man who was overheard confirming that the product was available. However, when I arrived promptly, I was directed to the game, and proceeded to checkout, only to have it taken off me and told it was not for sale. I shall be formally complaining to the head office. I was not even reimbursed ...

I had an issue regarding a buy one get one free item. Instead of the assistant checking herself, she asked a few colleagues about the price of an item, to which they replied they didn't have a clue. Then, as I moved to the end of the aisle, because by now some people in the queue were fed up with waiting and wanted to go, she put her hand on the shopping as though I was about to steal it, eventually she found out I was right about the price. When I got home I rang Tesco customer services, who sa ...

The Tesco I use is a big Tesco store, with its own car park and petrol station. As far as Tesco bargains go, I have been told it is best to use the Tesco I use, rather than the Tesco near Surrey Keys, as it stocks the cheaper products. A clothing and electrical section is as you would expect on the site. The store is very busy, as Tesco is the preferred store for most shoppers in the area, and other supermarkets have a limited clientele in comparison. Do not be put off by the location, a ...

Even the 'Customer service' staff were unhelpful, refusing to call down the store manager & arguing their point of view. I have written a letter to the store manager, but alas have had no reply yet! Will I shop here again , NO, I'm on my way to Waitrose & Sainsburys.

If you ever feel the need to complain to Tesco, don't bother. I tried complaining about shabby service recently - from a Tesco store 30 miles from my home. They told me to go back to the store in person (a 60 mile journey) simply for my complaint to be entertained. No consideration of the facts or common sense employed. Just go back to the store or go away. They've lost about £5K p.a. from me - which is absolutely nothing to them, I know.

This is with reference to the Thornton Heath Tesco store only. Visiting this store is a whole new experience - lifts that never work, endless queues, unhelpful staff, and they are always running out of products that you expect to be there every week, so you end up visiting another store to pick up the stuff they have run out of at Tesco.

Books for £3.97 clock radios for £3.97 security staff swarming everywhere every little is a help because you will only get a little bit of help. Bargain books? No the same price at Asda. I have been shopping at Tesco since the 70's when it was a crummy shop like the COOP. Even in the 90's some were down market, like the one in Holloway London for instance. The other day however, I picked up some bargains. First there is a clock radio for £3.47. Yes that is cheap. I ...

I bought a lawnmower online from Tesco. It was faulty, so I contacted the online service who said that they would pick it up on Wednesday, which they did not do. They did the same again on Friday, and I can now not make contact with them, and it is past the 14 day return date!! They have been of no help to me at all, offering me extremely bad customer service. I am never shopping there again!!

Even though I live within 5 minutes walking distance of an Asda superstore, I always find myself driving 5 miles to my local Tesco Extra. Compared to Asda, even though it sometimes costs a little more, the shopping experience is so much better (wider aisles, more checkouts), and the quality and range of products they sell is much better. I buy most stuff things, from groceries to CD's, games and electrical goods. The club card reward scheme is a bit weak, but it is still nice to get something ba ...

I can only comment on the experience I have at the Leicester Hamilton Tesco store. I'm not sure the prices are the cheapest but the shopping experience is quite pleasant. The fact they seem to sell everything is a bonus, not to mention the 24hr service (as in open24hrs). All the staff are very pleasant and helpful, even if I don't have much shopping they offer to assist with the packing, separating the carrier bags is easy enough and they never seem to suffer with long queues at the tills.
