What can I say regarding this marvelous piece of German engineering?? more than enough to give a good review!!

I currently own the C180 Elegance model and I cannot think of a single fault i've had with it.

First the Pro's The car is heavy and durable and makes you feel save driving at whatever speeds. 70mph feels like a steady cruise, no sense of speed. Depending on the the driver this can be a pro or con. if there's any cross winds they feel like a little nudge.

The Driving comfort is beyon ...

I bought a C180K - Avantgarde (doesn't matter) in late 2004 after changing three more brands before (not worth mentioning, but all of German origin). Unfrotunately it was written off from a motor car pile up accident in November 2008, which if it was not by God's Grace and the good design of this car I would be no more - I came out spotless whilst the damage amounted to R185 000 (front and rear impacts with a popped driver's air bag). The car had 220 000km on the clock and the engine perfomance ...

Had two near misses in both C class and A class and both cars held thier ground and not a scratch on me!
    Reliable...not a single break down!
Love Mercedes and feel safest in them. Sheer driving pleasure and not bad looking cars!

The build quality of the Mercedes Benz C Class 180 Elegance is good but the little things like the doors opening when your doing 70 mph down the motorway that put me off slightly( had to be taken back). But the shell itself is solid.

I got my W reg 87k miles Mercedes 230k auto after my previous (3 year old - driven from new) 5 series BMW broke down 5 times in 3 years!)

Anyway - car had FSH - vital for any used Merc, and in the 7 months I have had it - no niggles no problems and drives pretty good. Has a bit of a sloppy feel to the steering when the box is on sport - but if you switch it to wet - drives much better.

Was an ex police car so has been meticulously maintained. It is not an exciting car to drive, you are not ...

After experiencing my dad's W123 1984 300D, I bought a Mercedes Benz C180 Elegance. If you want a car that you will spend money on once a year (full service), and then the ability to drive to your hearts content, then buy a Mercedes! I put thousands of M1, M6 and M25 business miles on mine for 3 years, and never used my RAC membership.

I had a '99 Mercedes Benz C180 Elegance Family Car from new and this was a great car...you really felt that you were driving a merc. Then I bought the new model in '01. It felt lighter and not as solid on the road. Everything in the car is flimsy, covers falling off screws, glove-box jamming, arm rest stowage jamming, parking break ratchet snapping on several occasions. Other more serious problems were the gearbox being very sticky and eventually being replaced, with the new one feeling the same ...
