“Worst gun ever”

Written on: 19/09/2012

Bought the Remington 870 Express last week. Fired one shot and the ejector jammed. Tried shooting with different brands of shells and the same story. In the end, one shell got jammed in the receiver and its still there. Contacted Remington and they want me to ship it out to the local repair shop which is over 100KM from Toronto and to prepay the shipment back...at a cost of close to $50...? Are they fricken nuts?… Read Full Review

Call the authorized repair centre in Quebec. They will then tell you to box it up and take it to a DHL shipping depot, which they have an account with so it doesn't cost you anything. When I had an issue with my model 700, I called the repair centre in Ontario and I got the same speech about prepaying shipping.....W.T.F. Sent it to Quebec and had it fixed and back at my house in less than 2 weeks.....LONG LIVE THE FRENCH!!

“Remington 870 tactical express 12 Gauge 7-shot”

Written on: 12/12/2011

I purchased this POS 1 year ago and the first day at the range it jammed. I was able to extract the shell, but it jammed a second time, The extractor claw and spring fell out of the shotgun. Sent it back to Remington and the parts were replaced. Gun was in storage until 1 week ago , Cycled normally without shells, After loading shells(remington 12 gauge slugs) the firearm refused to cycle with shells with being partially ejected. Unable to get the weapon to cycle normally It has been back at… Read Full Review

The 870 express is an awesome gun for the money. I like the whole 870 line of shotguns and even carry an 870 in my police cruiser, which says a lot seeing as I rely on the 870 at work to save my life or someone else's. I bought the shorter slug barrel with iron sights which are adjustable. It carries well in the bush and doubles as an excellent defensive weapon at home and a good hunting gun in the field. It is rugged, well made in my opinion. There are endless accessories for the 870 to… Read Full Review

I also bought one that would not eject. Remington told me they had a recal on their ejector's to take and box it up and send it back. I took it back and got a different gun. First time out it jambed and would not eject either. Gander Mountains gunsmith told me they were having a lot of problems with the Remingtons. I traded it in on a Winchester and never looked back. Funny thing is a few years later my wife bought me a ne Remington 7600 pump 30-06 and it had the same problem. I had to take it… Read Full Review

Written on: 03/03/2010

I bought a Remington 870 Supermag Waterfowl 12 gauge. This gun was junk. The first shell I put in it would not eject no matter how hard I pulled to eject the shell. I sent it to Remington twice and it still did the samething. This probably would occur on every 3rd or 4th shell that was put in the gun. I called Remington and returned the gun because they were not able to fix the gun. I also had a problem with an 11-87 that I bought. I will never buy another Remington product again… Read Full Review

Whether you are a beginner or an expert you simply can't go wrong with an 870. You can easily spend more for a pump shotgun, but you will not find a better gun. This is the most rugged and reliable pump shotgun on the market, period. I have been shooting 870s since the '60s and have dragged a host of them through the most god forsaken marshes in the Pacific Northwest. I have never had one fail me under the most trying circumstances. I bought my son the "Super Magnum" version for his 14th… Read Full Review

The 870 Express is Remington's lower-cost version of the 870 Wingmaster shotgun. It has a less-polished finish and less expensive stock, but otherwise is equal to its more expensive brother.

The 870 Express is a popular hunting gun in the USA and Canada. Tens of thousands are taken afield each fall. The 870 is legendary for its reliability. It is also the most popular police shotgun in a country where every police car carries a shotgun.

For reliability at a reasonable price you… Read Full Review
