Purchased a new Winchester SX3 from Dick's Sporting Goods for $899. I have been shopping around for a new shotgun and was willing to spend up to $1500. I tried many out from the Beretta AL391 Urika, Beretta A400 to a Beneli Super Vinci but once I shouldered the Winchester SX3, I knew it was the one for me. I came home, did some research and found some good reviews but wasn't convinced. I went out to all the local gun shops and shouldered as many shotguns as I could and still wound up... (read more)

The gun wouldn't recycle right out of the box. Their gunsmith tried to replace some parts but that didn't work either. The gun just wouldn't feed shells from the magazine even manually. They thought the tolerances were bad on the gun. I went with a Browning Maxus and couldn't be happier for around the same price. (read more)

The Winchester SX3 seems like a good gun. Remember when you get it to be sure you have the alloy magazine tube... for some reason I got the crome plated steel tube. No real complaints, though. Steel is stronger at least but I liked the idea of the alloy with the brass ring. Something to look at.
Shoots well. Had one stuck shell (first shot; no more stuck after that) and one time the bolt got stuck back at around 150 rounds(I'm assuming that's a break-in issue).

My favorite gun. It is extremely reliable, closes hard, and cleans very easy. One note for first time buyers... It does take about 200 rounds to "break it in" so to speak. At first it would not cycle cheaper target loads. Now i dont have a problem with anything. I have taken it pheasant, goose, duck, turkey, and quail hunting with zero issues in the field. Even during a -5 morning it still kicked out 3 1/2 in goose loads perfectly. It also comes with LOP and drop and cast adjustments which... (read more)

I had a sx2 from Avalon guns in Somerset in 2007 and decided on the upgrade because of the 3.5 in chamber. easy to maintain, easy to shoot and strip down, works well with all cartridges. no down points as far as im concerned great for wildfowling. I wouldnt have bought one if I hadn't shot the SX2. and almost half the price of a Betetta Extrema 2. Not knocking the Beretta which is a fine gun but as a working guy with limited funds the Winchester coveres all bases. (read more)

The Winchester SX3 is a superb machine. Treated myself at Christmas - best present I ever got! It's remarkably easy to use and never disappoints. The balance feels just right and it points naturally at the targets. So far only used for clays but pigeon and wildfowling scheduled for later this year. (read more)
