Good Points: Very high penetration compared to lead pellets. Glow in the dark, so can see the pellets travel during night shooting.

Bad Points: Expensive and I believe they are also discontinued.

General comments: These Crosman Tracerpell .177 pellets have a steel (not exactly sure but definitely harder than lead) head. I tested the penetration of these with my HW95 against a RWS Superpoint extra pellet by shooting one of each into a yellow pages. The TracerPell penetrated 200 more pages than the Superpoint, and on examining the two pellets it was apparent why. The superpoint (being a lead pellet) was completely distorted / splayed out (which clearly reduced it's velocity and surface area), whereas the TracerPell, having a harder head, was completely intact with no distortion - not even to the sheath. This obviously allowed it to travel farther.
The pellets also appear to be quite accurate.
Despite the enhanced penetration, I am not convinced whether this is advantageous. So long as a pellet can penetrate the skull of an animal, it is actually better for it to become distorted on impact since more damage internally will be caused and hence more likely to kill instantly. I guess the advantage comes with lower powered airguns, whereby the important issue is actually penetration, and therefore these pellets will certainly assist with that. I did shoot a plastic target and found that the RWS struggled to pass clean through whereas the TracerPell went clean through and even deep into the wood behind it.
The other fancy bit to these pellets is the glow in the dark sheath.
