Good Points: The staff were so helpful, without them we would not have seen half the things we did see, as they were fantastic and recommended so many things to us. The location was amazing, everything you needed was in front of you, although their taxis are dirt cheap anyway and the receptionists were happy to arrange taxis for us and barter with the drivers. 24 hour reception as well. Maid service to change sheets daily. The lifts, though small, were quick to come. Make sure you check out the man in the hotel shop, he is so friendly and nice and will even give you a few words in Arabic if you flash him a smile. The bar was also reasonably priced. In house bureaux de change. Receptionists spoke good English.
Bad Points: The room and bathroom, although tidy, were not very clean and the pillow was yellow with stains! The sheets were uncomfortable and itchy, you were only supplied with one very thin pillow. Appears as though the maid tried to get into my suitcase, so make sure you have everything hidden and padlocked! Breakfast was very insufficient, consisting of a croissant and some very very watered down orange juice. The pool was constantly in the shade, so too cold to go in. Don't ask for a cocktail in the bar, as they don't listen to the one you ask for and just give you a random horrible one with ice! Air conditioning didn't work in the bedroom, which in the height of summer would be a major problem. Quite a lot of late night noise from inside and outside the hotel, walls were not well insulated again noise.
General comments: Overall, Agdul is an excellent budget hotel, easily earned it's 3 stars and the receptionists really were brilliant.
Location could not have been better, just be aware that people see you coming out of the hotel, pretend to be from the hotel and try and persuade you to go to other places by saying that the place where you intend to go is shut etc.
