The Gamo Shadow sport air rifle is a very accurate air rifle the things you first time gamo owners need to know the barrel is tight you have to shoot it around 500 times to smooth it out and keep the barrel clean and you will get very tight groups at 25 yards you should put it almost in the same hole just keep the barrel clean i love mine and the trigger gets better the more you use it plus when barrel starts smoothing out you wont have to clean it as often.
Yes i have owned several gamo air rif ...

I found it better to use a .22 rimfire with subsonics....less sound, more grunt, and faster/flatter. Sounds like all of the other reviews were either positive or downright advertising. Is there any filtering on this "forum"?

Got little pests? This rifle is perfect for them. With 1000 FPS for lead pellets, and 1200 FPS with PBA, it can put a round clean through any squirrel, bird, raccoon, rat, and even iguana (large lizard). Easy to use. Light. You have to spend time adjusting scope properly. The only objection I have to this weapon (very slight) is it's recoil. Imagine an Anti-aircraft gun. Hold it tight, and you'll love it.

The Gamo Shadow Sport is so accurate and powerful. A great all rounders air rifle. Lots of fun to shoot and looks as good as it feels.

HAD TO PLAY AROUND WITH DIFFERENT PELLETS UNTIL FOUND ONE THAT WAS MOST ACCURATE. SEVERAL BRANDS WENT ALL OVER THE PLACE. FINALLY BOUGHT SOME PREMIERE HOLLOW POINTS, $4.99 FOR 500 AT WAL MART.
EVERY SHOT AT 22 YDS DEAD ON. KILLED A BIRD AT 58 YDS.
ONLY A 2" DROP FROM 22 YDS TO 45 YDS.
WAS SIGHTING IN A 223 AT 100 YDS. FOR FUN I SIGHTED IN THE SHADOW AT 100 YDS. COULD HIT 2 OUT OF 5 SHOTS DEAD ON. OTHER ROUNDS WERE WITHIN 5 INCES OF CENTER. VERY IMPRESSIVE.

A nice balanced powerful rifle. After 15 minutes sighting the scope I was able to get a 5 shot grouping within 20mm @ 20 metres. At 30 metres my 14 yr old son was hitting beer cans every shot Accuracy is good, however I did need to tighten scope mounts after approx 300 rounds had been put through it & re-adjust slightly. The trigger takes a bit of getting used to - not much indication on when its going to break. It is a very nice rifle, and I would recommend it.

I've had this rifle for about a year or so and I've shot 1 tin of beeman kodiak pellets, 1 tin of Gamo Rocket pellets, PBA ammo, and Crosman Premiers (I think) with it. Out of all of them I'd say go with the Beeman Kodiak,......the match ones i think. They work well with this rifle. The combination of the two packs a pretty good punch......enough to put a nice dent in a metal chairs. Plus they are one hitter quitters on wild doves. The only bad thing I have to say about this gun is that the reco ...

I'll say this carefully to qualify what follows. The-Gamo-Shadow-Sport-is-the-first-air-rifle-I-hav e-owned. I know it is not a match rifle so I didn't expect it to be extremely accurate, but with a BSA 3-9x40mm scope I expected to be able to gauge its performance pretty well off the bench.
I was not sure what to expect in an airgun trigger, except that it would be heavy. After adjusting it to its lowest setting I felt a lot better about the trigger, but again this is a sub $200 air gun.

Have owned this rifle for about 3 months and a couple of thousand rounds and must say when it wants to be it is very accurate for an under $200.00 item. The problem is, it is not consistent and the very next time I use it, it will throw shots all over the target. I have ordered a trigger and may do the tune-up thing to see if it is the gun or just me. I am not new to springers as the RWS M24 I have had for the last 10 years is a tack driver. My neighbor bought a shadow when I did and he gave ...
